Abstract

The prose works of Alisher Navoi originated on the basis of prose works of different genres and different themes in Persian and Ancient Uzbek, created in Khorasan and Transoxiana. But Navoi, as a great genius, wrote such centuries, which, on the one hand, reflected a new interpretation and development of advanced prose traditions in Persian-Tajik literature. Secondly, bearing in mind the rather slow development of prose in the Uzbek language in relation to Nazm, as well as a deep understanding of the breadth of possibilities of prose in relation to Nazm, Navoi enriched Uzbek literature with about fifteen prose works.

Abstract

In this article the author analyses the creation of ways and techniques for the teaching of interpersonal communication skills to ESP students. The profession of the ESP student combines the challenges of interpersonal communication with the need to efficiently determine information needs of a diverse client base. The combination of skills required means that teaching these skills remains a significant challenge in training ESP class as in many other professions. The task is particularly complicated by the need for both ways and techniques to be communicated clearly and unambiguously if students are to learn effectively.

Abstract

The issue of "collaborating to learn" is tackled by analyzing a peer-tutoring situation aimed at providing help to students with learning difficulties. The tutor and the tutee interactively construct the asymmetry and complementarity of their roles. As a consequence, what seemed at first sight to be the tutor's discursive and guidance abilities appears, upon closer examination, to be the result of the students' interactional work. The benefits of collaboration help to achieve results in the tutor taking charge of the major part of the cognitive work. However, we argue that the mode of collaboration which is accomplished by the learners is also a sign of the representations the tutor and the tutee have a teaching-learning situation as a body of knowledge to be taught and learned. The learning of certain strategies of collaboration which might be expected to enhance learning through peer tutoring should thus be contextualized in social and institutional practices. Developing collaborative skills is a necessary part of training to promote good academic and social performance amongst learners. Abstract

In the dry, hot climate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is scientifically proven that in order to ensure long-term quality preservation of onions grown from seeds and seedlings, it is advisable to plant 35-day-old seedlings on May 21-25 when the seeds are grown in early spring and as a repeated crop.

Abstract

In the dry, hot climate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the effect of planting onion seedlings of different ages on the soil free from the previous vegetables as a repeated crop for different periods on their growth and development is highlighted. It has been scientifically proven that when onion is grown from seedlings as a repeated crop, its planting dates and the age of seedlings differ from each other with more or less real leaves on each bush, as well as with the length, weight and diameter of the largest leaf, and the thickness or thinness of the false stem.

Abstract

For the selection work in 2012 the samples of squash 0044SQ (Holland) and BT+KB-001 (Turkey) were selected from the gene pool of the Research Institute of Plant Industry of Uzbekistan. In 2013, the above squash specimens were studied in a nursery of source material, in which they were evaluated on biological and economically valuable features. As a result, they were identified as short-climbing, transportable, high-yielding squash lines LZ-2513 and LH-1916. The promising squash line LZ-2513 or the new variety Orbit was selected by selection from squash sample 0044SQ (Holland), and the line LH-1916 or the new variety Viridi by selection from sample BT+KB-001 (Turkey). Breeding work was carried out in 2014-2018. In 2019-2020 competitive varietal trials were conducted in comparison with the variety standard Unumdor, included in the State Register of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In the process of breeding there were selected zucchini lines LH-1916, or new variety Viridi with elongated fruits of dark green color from sample BT+KB-001 (Turkey) and LZ-2513, or new variety Orbit with rounded fruits of light green color from sample 0044SQ (Holland).

Abstract

This paper examined the problems that has militated against effective Guidance and Counseling service in the universities in Nigeria. Secondary data were used in the paper. The secondary data were gathered from print materials and online publications. The paper specifically stated that poor funding, inadequate Guidance and Counseling materials, shortage of trained Guidance and Counsellors, poor capacity building programme, negative attitude of university community and inadequate infrastructure facilities are problems that have hindered effective Guidance and Counselling services delivery in the universities in Nigeria. Based on these problems, the paper recommended that; Universities management should increase the budgetary allocation of Guidance and Counseling units in the various universities. Counselling materials like psychological tests, play gadget, tape recorder, log book, record folder, etc should be provided for the guidance and career development centres for effective service delivery. University authorities should employ more qualified/trained Guidance and Counsellors and post them to the Guidance and counseling units.

Abstract

The research assessed the implementation of Upper Basic Education Curriculum in vulnerable areas of Katsina state. The population comprised five hundred and seventy six (576) teachers of upper basic school, forty five (45) principals and ninety (90) School Based Management Committee (SBMC) members. Using the research advisors sampling table, the sample of the research stands as two hundred and seventeen (217) teachers, forty four (44) principals and eighty (80) School Based Management Committee members. Five objectives to guide the study were formulated which consequently led to the designing of five research questions. One null hypothesis that centred on curriculum implementation was developed in congruence with the objectives and research questions. A four fingered Likert Scale Questionnaire was developed with twenty (20) items. Mean and standard deviation in the descriptive data were presented. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypothesis. The findings revealed that the null hypothesis was rejected to infer variation in the respondents opinions in all the five areas of curriculum implementation. It also showed that insecurity constituted a great challenge for curriculum implementation as pupils, teachers could not attend schools regularly. The study recommended among other things proactive measures by security personnel in tackling the challenges, developing appropriate pedagogical strategies of teaching and facilitating good learning environment.
