Abstract

The  aims  of  this  study  are  for  measuring  the  torque  and  the  power  of  Supra-X 125R CW motorcycle of 2010 after fitted the electrolyzer by varying the number of stainless steel plates and measuring the torque and the power of Supra X-125 R CW motorcycle of 2010 after fitted the electrolyzer by varying the installation of brown gas channel (before the carburetor and after the carburetor).The research was quantitative descriptive one with experimental design.  The data was collected by using documentation method.The results of this study are  the torque and the power are best obtained by using electrolyzer  II  (8  plates)  with  the  location  of  brown  gas  channel  before  carburetor. Improvement  the  torque  as  many  as  9,  33  Nm  or  22,12%  from  standard  torsion  and improvement the  power as many as 8,17 HP or 13% from standard power. Conclusion of the research is the use electrolyzer II with electrode construction of 8 stainless steel plates and brown gas channel mounted after carburetor is the most ideal arrangement for Supra-X 125 R CW motorcycle.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to quantify the standart time of component achieved by the turning machine operatorby using stopwatch time study method at Machinery and Tool Unit PT. Mega AndalanKalasan.This research is descriptive quantitative. This research carried out on permanent operator at turning machine type C6232B1 by using stopwatch time study method. Research by the stopwatch time study method executable  to make an observations in accordance The Maytag Companies formula. Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) To understand the effect of using various CDI to power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. (2) To understand the effect of various rpm to power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. (3) To understand the common effect (interaction) between using various CDI and various prm towards power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. This research was do at 26 juny 2012 and be located in workshop MOTOTECH Jl. Ringroad Selatan, Kemasan, Singosaren, Banguntapan, Bantul, Yogyakarta telp. (0274) 6536303. This type of research is experiment reseach with factorial design 3x7 and quantitative approach. The population on this sample was suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. Sampling of this research is Suzuki Satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle with serial police number G 6161 TT and serial engine number is G420IDI67935. The sampling obtainable using purposive sampling technique. The data obtained from the power measurement of engine motrcycle using with dynotest. The data obtain with 3 times of replications, so that 63 data were obtained. Technique of data analysis in this research was two-ways analysis of variance,before implement data analysis pre especially doing prerequisite test namely normality test and homogenity test. Normality test used lilifors test and homogenity test used Bartlett test. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that: (1) There are an effect of various CDI and power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. This is shown by the results of data analysis, that Fobs = 50,691 greater than Ftabel = 5,149 level of significance (?)  at 1%. (2) There are an effect of rpm to power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. This is shown by the results of data analysis, that Fobs = 329,0331 greater than Ftabel = 3,266 level of significance (?)  at 1%. (3) There aren?t an effect of various CDI and various rpm to power of engine on suzuki satria F150 year 2008 motorcycle. This is shown by the results of data analysis, that Fobs= 0,383 smaller than Ftabel = 2,640 level of significance (?)  at 1%. (4) Maximum power of engine is 16,2 Hp obtained from using CDI dual band curva 2 with 9242 RPM.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: (1) Determine the effect of adding the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium foundry on Impact strength. (2) Determine the effect of the addition of the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium foundry on the level of hardness. (3) Determine the influence of the addition of the element magnesium (Mg) in the aluminium foundry to microstructure. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. This method is implemented by providing independent variables intentionally to the object of study to know the effect on the dependent variable research sample used is adding 2% and 5% of magnesium .Each specimen number 3 pieces of samples. Data obtained from the results of research put into the table, and displayed in graph form and then analyzed. Based on the results of this study concluded that: (1) the more elements of magnesium (Mg) are added, the value of impact strength aluminium casting result is increasing. (2), the more the element magnesium (Mg) are added to the value of the results of casting aluminium hardness is increasing. (3) the more the element magnesium (Mg) are added to the results of casting aluminium grain size get smaller.

Abstract

The quality of a course of study in a college is one that needs to be improved continuously (continuous improvement). Existence of a course of study in the future depends on how to improve the program of study and its performance. Performance of course of study can be measured not only by  governments but it also from  stakeholders accreditation, therefore, this study is used by ranking in which is determined by stakeholder. This research belongs a descriptive qualitative research. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. The primary data is obtained from questionnaires from respondents who selected by purposive sampling. Secondary data is obtained from documents of program study and observation. The results of the study through implementing MBCfE assessment shows that the overall assessment scores are achieved 710.02. The score classifies Mechanical Engineering Education Department enters the excellent category as Industry Leader. Industry Leader means Mechanical Engineering Education Department in FKIP UNS has entered education industrial area, although it is still beginner. Industrial area means all operated PTM performance-based industry, such as management (management) including planning, value, and culture  are  presented / treated as industry. The category which shows performance is leadership with score of 77.15%. Excellence in leadership performance is an essential source of an organization's progress. The objective of this organization in Mechanical Engineering Education Department will be achieved if the leadership leads effectively. The lowest score emerges on the outcomes category of education activities. Recommendations for the lowest criteria are appropriate with the conditions of Mechanical Engineering Education Department in order to increase the services to customers by analyzing and following  information up that has been achieved. Meanwhile, It also assesses the results that already achieved by Mechanical Engineering Education Department.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the level surface roughness characterization of steel ST 40 results ZK 7040 CNC Milling machining effect feed rate and the early timing of cooling. This research was conducted at SMK WARGA Surakarta Laboratory. Machining process using ZK 7040 CNC Milling machines with control SIEMENS SINUMERIK 802S. Data obtained by measuring the level of roughness of the workpiece using a SURFCODER SE-1700 at Bahan Teknik D3, Univesitas Gadjah Mada Laboratory. This research method using descriptive analysis with independent variable were feed rates and the early timing of cooling, dependent variable  was levels of surface roughness of steel ST 40. The results on the feedrate 0.11 mm / rev, 0.13 mm / rev and 0.15 mm / rev indicates that the higher the feedrate is used to produce the level of the rough workpiece roughness. In the early timing of the air 10 minutes, 15 minutes and, 20 minutes showed that the longer the first timing of cooling used in the CNC machining process Milling ZK 7040 on steel ST 40, would result in the level of the rough workpiece roughness. This research resulted in varying levels of surface roughness between N6 to N8. The level of roughness of the workpiece machining CNC Milling results ZK 7040 on steel ST 40 that the smallest on the conditions before the beginning of the cooling at feed rate 0.11 mm / rev and the early cooling time 10 minutes is equal to 1.616 ?m, while the greatest rudeness occurs the feed rate of 0.15 mm / rev and the early timing of the air 20 minutes is equal to 3.603 ?m. The level of roughness of the workpiece machining CNC Milling results ZK 7040 on steel ST 40 that the smallest on the conditions after the timing of cooling on CNC milling machining process ZK 7040 occurred at a feed rate of 0.11 mm / rev and the early timing of cooling after 10 minutes is equal to 1.855 ?m while the roughness of the greatest place on the feed rate of 0.15 mm / rev and the early timing of cooling after 20 minutes is equal to 5.782 ?m.

Abstract

This purposes of this research were: (1) To knew how the effect of input voltage of electrolysers to torque on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. (2) To knew how the effect of  ignition timing to torque on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. (3) To knew how the interaction between input voltage of electrolyser and ignition timing to torque on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. (4) To knew how the effect of  input voltage of electrolysers to power on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. (5) To knew how the effect of ignition timing to power on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. (6) To knew how the interaction between input voltage of electrolyser and ignition timing to power on motor cycle Supra-X 125 year 2007. This research used experiment method. Sample research used was Honda Supra X 125 year 2007 with engine number JB81E1108989. The data obtained from the value of  torque and power with variation  input voltage from electrolyser 0 volt, 4 volt, 8 volt and 12 volt used ignition timing standard (15° BTDC) and ignition timing progress (18° BTDC) and back    (12° BTDC). Data finded from result of the research with anava two ways calculation. Based on this reseach can be conclude: (1) it is significance influence between electrolyser input voltage to torque on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007, significance of electrolyser input voltage on 4 volt (2) it was significance influence between variation ignition timing to torque on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007, significance of ignition timing when back to 12O BTDC (3) it interaction significance between variation of electrolyser input voltage and ignition timing to torque on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007 max torque happen at electrolyser input voltage 12 Volt and ignition timing 15° BTDC. (4) it is not significance influence between electrolyser input voltage to power on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007(5) it was significance influence between variation ignition timing to power on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007, significance of ignition timing when back to 12O BTDC (6) it interaction significance between variation of electrolyser input voltage and ignition timing to power on motor cycle Supra X 125 year 2007 max torque happen at input voltage electrolyser 12 Volt and ignition timing 18° BTDC.

Abstract

Repair welding is a method to repair the fractures in cast wheel aluminium. The repair welding process will produce residual stress which decrease mechanical characteristics such as strength, hardness, etc. PWHT is a heat treatment which is conducted after welding processwith purpose to decrease the residual stress.The purposes of this study were to determine the comparison of chemical composition, microstructure, hardness value, and impact toughness of cast wheel aluminium on the result of repair welding with Oxy Acetylene, TIG and MIGwelding method with PWHT treatment and raw material specimen. Welding that conducted were Oxy Acetylene, TIG and MIG then followed by PWHT treatment. Test were performed on the study were chemical composition test, microstructure, hardness and toughness. The data obtained from the study were processed using descriptive analysis technique. The result of test showed that the cast wheel aluminium used in this study is aluminium alloy AA4643 series. The percentage of Si elements affect the microstructure of the specimen where the higher the percentage of Si element increasingly clear distinction between the grains of aluminium with Si. The highest average hardness value is in raw material specimen of 42,693 BHN. On specimen which experience welding with PWHT treatment the highest average hardness value in specimen that had Oxy Acetylene welding of 34,624 BHN in the weld area and 31,818 BHN in the HAZ area. The lowest hardness value contained in the TIG specimen at 28,384 BHN on the welding area and in the HAZ area contained in the specimen which experience MIG welding process with average hardness value of 23,677 BHN. The average highest toughness number contained in TIG specimen with 0,12776 joule/mm2, while the lowest toughness number contained in MIG specimen with 0,072 J/mm2.

Abstract

  Serbuk bambu dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif material kampas rem non-asbestos sepeda motor. Dalam penelitian ini, pada komposisi serbuk bambu 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% memiliki angka yang paling mendekati dengan kampas rem pembanding. Komposisi serbuk bambu 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% memiliki angka keausan 0,82.10-8 mm2/kg. Komposisi serbuk bambu 35%, aluminium 15%, MgO 35%, resin 15% memiliki angka kekerasan 19,6 kg/mm2. Dengan melakukan variasi komposisi akan didapat angka keausan dan kekerasan yang paling optimum. Variasi komposisi serbuk bambu sangat berpengaruh terhadap angka keausan dan angka kekerasan sampel kampas rem.

Abstract

The results of research are as follows: 1) In the aluminum pipe heating the lowest level of (CO) was 0.149 (% vol) at  the fuel blend of 70% premium and 30% ethanol, and the fuel temperature following heating was 62.1 °C meaning that the level of (CO) declines below the standard condition without the fuel heating treatment. 2) In the stainless steel pipe heating, the lowest level of (CO) was 0.158 (% vol) at  the fuel blend of 70% premium and 30% ethanol and the fuel temperature following the heating was 62.1 °C, indicating that the  level of (CO) declines below the standard condition without the fuel heating treatment. 3) In the copper pipe heating, the lowest level of (CO) was 0.159 (% vol) at  the fuel blend of 70% premium and 30% ethanol with the fuel temperature following the heating was 61.7 °C, meaning that the level of (CO) declines below the standard condition without the fuel heating treatment.  4) In the aluminum pipe heating, the lowest level of (HC) was 215 (ppm vol) at the fuel blend of 100% premium, and the fuel temperature following the heating was 54.1 °C meaning that level of (HC) is above the standard condition without the fuel heating treatment. 5) In a stainless steel pipe heating, the lowest  level of (HC) was 136 (ppm vol) at the fuel blend of 95% premium and 5% ethanol, and the fuel temperature following the heating was 54.1 °C, meaning that the level of (HC)  declines below the standard condition without the fuel heating treatment. 6) In the copper pipe heating, the lowest level of (HC) was 100 (ppm vol) at fuel blend of 95% premium and 5% ethanol, and the fuel temperature following the heating was 61.2 °C, meaning that the level of (HC) declines below the standard condition without fuel heating treatment.
