Abstract

The purposes of this research are: (1) To  explore the use effect of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer against consumption fuel Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. (2) To  explore the effect of the variation of spark plugs against consumption fuel on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. (3) To  explore the interaction effect of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer and variation spark plugs against consumption fuel on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010. This research was conducted in the Workshop of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. Type of this research is descriptive qualitative uses experimental methods. The Object  in this research used a motorcycle Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 with engine number 2S6439296. Techniques of data analysis in this research using descriptive data analysis that is directly observed experimental results are then analyzed and summing up the results of the research. As an input parameter in analyzing the data include: the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer, a variation of the standard spark plugs, platinum, iridium and fuel consumption. The research can be conclude that: (1) The use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 to fuel consumption with standard plug of 9.2 ml/minute, platinum spark plug 9.2 ml/minute, iridium spark plug 8.73 ml/minute. (2) Without the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer on Yamaha Mio Soul 2010 against the consumption of fuel by standard spark plug of 9.66 ml/minute, platinum spark plug 9.33 ml/minute, iridium spark plug 8.93 ml/minute. (3) The best interaction between the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer and variation of spark plugs that is on the use of Electronic Voltage Stabilizer to the spark plug with the use of iridium which is 8.73 ml/minute, but the use this variation must attention the total cost.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to (1) increase the interest of class X TPBO B SMK Negeri 4 Sukoharjo at academic year 2014/2015 on the subject of Welding and, (2) increase the student learning outcomes of class X TPBO B SMK Negeri 4 Sukoharjo at academic year 2014/2015 on the subjects of Welding by using video media learning. This classroom action research consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, running action, observation, and reflection. The research subject were students of class X TPBO B SMK Negeri 4 Sukoharjo at academic year 2014/2015. The source of data derived from the productive teacher, the head of the administration and students of class X TPBO B SMK Negeri 4 Sukoharjo obtained through observation, documentation, interview and test. The data analysis technique used was comparative descriptive analysis. The results of the research showed that the video media learning can increased student interest from the first cycle of 73.03% to 81.81% in the second cycle. Student learning outcomes of prasiklus also increased by 45.45% to 72.72% in the first cycle and 87.87% in the second cycle. The conclusion of this research was the application of video media learning can increased learning interest and student learning outcomes in subject welding class X SMK TPBO B 4 Sukoharjo at academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to get the successfulness: (1) in the identify improvement of the learning activeness in the Lathe Machining subject matter of the students in Grade XI Machinery 3 of Pancasila Vocational High School of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the IOC type; and (2) in the identify improvement of the learning achievement in the Lathe Machining subject matter of the students in Grade XI M3 of Pancasila Vocational High School of Surakarta through the application of the cooperative learning model of the IOC type. This research used the classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of research were the students in Grade XI Machinery 3 of the aforementioned school. The sources of research data were observation sheet on the learning activeness and the test of achievement. The data of research were collected through test, written test items non-test. Students? learning activeness observation sheet during the implementation. They were validated through content validity for the data obtained through test and triangulation time validity for the data obtained through non-test. Analyzed by using the descriptive qualitative and descriptive comparative technique of analysis. The procedures of research consisted of a series of four activities, which were done in s repeated cycle namely: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of research: (1) learning activeness in pre-cycle 50%. the first cyle, the learning activiness 65,19%. The second cycle, the learning activiness 82,37%. The used of cooperative learning model of the IOC type can also improvement learning achievement of the students? with the result: (2) The achievement in pre-cycle 41,67%. The first cycle, the achievement 54,17%. The second cycle, the achievement 83,33%. The conclutions of this research: (1) the used of cooperative learning model of the IOC type at Lathe Machining subject matter can improvement the learning activiness of the students? in Grade XI Machinery 3 of Pancasila Vocational High School of Surakarta, (2) the used of cooperative learning model of the IOC type at Lathe Machining subject matter can improvement the learning achievement of the students? in Grade XI Machinery 3 of Pancasila Vocational High School of Surakarta.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the students readiness of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program JPTK FKIP UNS in implementating industry practice and the value of indicators which obtained. This research is a quantitative descriptive. Research subjects were students of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program JPTK FKIP UNS 2009, as many as 56 students. The research sample as many as 48 students. Sampling technique was proportionate random sampling. Sampling technique was proportionate random sampling. Techniques of data collection are by questionnaire and interview. Testing of the validity instrument was conducted based on the Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. Reliability test instrument used Cronbach's Alpha. The results showed that students readiness of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program JPTK FKIP UNS 2009 in implementating industry practice in terms of condition tonus of the body was 78,65 (high), state of body function was 85,00 (very high), intelligence was 79,90 (high), motivation was 72,08 (high), interests was 80,83 (very high), attitudes was 73,17 (high), and talents was 73,85 (high). In general, the student of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program JPTK FKIP UNS 2009 ready to implemented Industry Practices.

Abstract

The objective of study is to know the student learning achievement based on standards evaluation of curriculum 2013, which has not been implemented, because the teacher has not been able to make the instrument according to the evaluation standards. Based on the curriculum 2013 student learning achievement were measured from three aspects, namely attitude, knowledge, and skills. This research is a qualitative descriptive analysis. The research conducted at SMK N 2 Karanganyar. Source of data for this study is the Teacher Competency Basic Work Stations, students of tenth grade, records or documents, and Ototronik classroom of  SMK N 2 Karanganyar. In collecting data, the researcher used interview, observation, documentation, and testing. The validity of  data using triangulation of data sources and methods. Analysis of the data for this study is the interactive model. The results of this study indicate that: (1) The results of the study evaluated according to curriculum 2013 in either category, with the yield on the aspect of the attitude of 77.4 % with a frequency of 65, 79.8% knowledge aspects with afrequency of 67, and the skill aspect of 100 % with a frequency of 84. (2) The attitude of the students based on indicators that have been set on the attitude of the faithful, polite, honest, disciplined, conscientious, diligent, critical, and care including good category, while being responsible includes the excellent category. (3) Knowledge of students by level of thought process at the level of memory including The excellent category, including the category of good level of understanding, as well as the level of application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation include enough categories. (4) Skills students based on indicators that have been assigned to the indicator using the tool correctly, carry out the work in accordance with the order of tool use, deft in work, neatly in the work, and to implement adequate safety, including the enough category, while the indicator meticulous in their work and the work maximum includes good categories.

Abstract

The research aims at knowing and identifying the factors of learning constraint from the students of mechanical engineering education in the year of 2009, Sebelas Maret University. This research was qualitative research. The method used in this research was descriptive. Total populations in this research were all students of PTM class of 2009, with the total students are fifty-six students. Samples were taken by total sample technique. The data collection techniques were questionnaires and interviews. The data validation was using data triangulation and triangulation methods. The data analysis technique in this research was using descriptive analysis. Results of this study show that: (1) Physical factors especially  healthly are categorized of learning constraint from the students of PTM class of 2009. This is showed through the sub-indicators of break-time pattern and diet pattern. Break-time pattern is in medium category with a percentage of 42.86%. Diet pattern is medium category. And its percentage is 41.07%. (2) Psychological factors aren?t categorized of learning constraint from the students of PTM class of 2009. This is showed by the interest indicator, motivation, talent and intelligence. The interest indicator is in the low category with a percentage of 53.57%. Motivation is in the low category with a percentage of 67.86%. Talent is in the low category with a percentage of 55.36%, while intelligence is low category. And its percentage is 75.00%. (3) Family factors are categorized of learning constraint from the students of PTM class of 2009. This is showed through atmosphere of the residence. Atmosphere of the residence is in medium category with a percentage of 48.21%. (4) Academic factors are categorized of learning constraint from the students of PTM class of 2009.This is showed by the indicator method of teaching and the learning facilities. Method of teaching is in the medium category with a percentage of 48.21%. The learning facilities in a category medium, and the percentage is 58.93%. (5) Non-academic factors are categorized of learning constraint from the students of PTM class of 2009. This is showed through the indicator of a friend in a medium category with the percentage of 50.00%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) Studying the effect of adding the powder dry cellmarks the porosity defects result from remelting of Al-Si piston waste scrap, (2) Study theeffect of adding the powder dry cell marks of violence result from remelting of Al-Si pistonwaste scrap, (3) Study the percentage improvement in dry powder degasser cell as analternative to get the product to the remelting of Al-Si piston material defects former withminimal porosity.This study used an experimental method that uses a single independentvariable factors (variations addition of powdered dry cell) and two-factor variable (porosityand hardness). Objects in this study using the results of remelting of Al-Si piston waste exwith Si content of 9%. Data analysis techniques in this study using descriptive data analysis.Input parameters in analyzing the data include: the addition of  powdered dry cell variation(0%, 0.10%, 0.15%, 0.20%, and 0.30%), porosity test, photo macro structure, and violence.In this study, the addition of the powder has not found the percentage of used dry celloptimized to minimize porosity. The results showed that the remelting of Al-Si piston formerwaste occurs at 0.6909% porosity. Gas porosity increasing as a percentage of dry cellpowder was increased to 0.30 wt% Al. Highest porosity occurs in the addition of the formerpowder dry cell weight as much as 0.30% Al with porosity of 1.6226%. Based on thestructure of the macro picture shows a pore porosity. Gas porosity is caused by H2O gas. Inthe former there is a dry cell powder elements as much as 4.85 wt% H2O. Former cell drypowder only serves as hygroscopic moisture flux which acts as a binder impurities into slag.Visual condition of the specimen shows the addition of a former dry cell powders affect thecleanliness of the molten metal slag (slag) so that the surface becomes smooth look. Formerdry cell powder affect the increased hardness value. Hardness value increases with theaddition of powdered dry cell percentage of the weight of the former al. The increaseaveraged 6.21%. This is because the elements of C as much as 2.76% by weight in the d rycell powder.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are (1) To determine the effect of the value of the courses concerning taking the Automotive concentration Mechanical Engineering Study Program year of 2011. (2) To determine the effect of student?s interest concerning taking the Automotive concentration Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program year of 2011. (3) To determine the effect of the concept of decision making concerning taking the Automotive concentration Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program year of 2011. This study was quantitative research. The method used in this research was descriptive. The population in this study were all of the students of Automotive concentration Mecahnical Engineering Education Program year of 2011, which the total students are 23. Samples were taken with a total sample technique. The technique of collecting data is documentation, questionnaires, and interviews. The validity of questionnaire research instruments was using the Product Moment Correlation approach of Pearson. The validity instruments test with a significance level of 5% in order to get the value of r product moment of 0.444. Reliability test was using the Alpha formula. The technique of data analysis in this research is using descriptive analysis. Based on this study concluded: (1) The value of prerequisite courses do not affect too much to the student?s decision concerning taking the Automotive concentrations. (2) Interests affect the students of automative concentration in taking Automotive concentration Mechanical Engineering Education Program JPTK FKIP UNS year of 2011. It is shown by the indicator of pleasure feelings that are at high category with a percentage of 95.65%. Concern at the high category with a percentage of 47.83%, and the student?s interest at the high category with the percentage of 69.57%. (3) The concept of decision making affects students of Automotive concentration Mechanical Engineering Education Program year of 2011 to take Automotive concentration. It is showed through the assumption of rationality indicators that were at very high category with a percentage of 60.87%, the limited rationality at the high category with a percentage of 47.83%, and intuitive decision-making at the high category with a percentage of 82.61%.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are to: (1) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire on fuel consumption of Motorcycle Honda Supra-X 125D 2007; (2) know effect of electrolyzer application with varied solutions on fuel consumption of Motorcycle Honda Supra-X 125D 2007; (3) know interaction used electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions fuel consumption of Motorcycle Honda Supra-X 125D 2007. The research is a quantitative one with experimental method. Sample of the research is a motorcycle Honda Supra-X 125D 2007 with machine number JB51E2015321. The research was performed on the road test in 3rd ? 7th km of Prambanan ? Piyungan street, Yogyakarta. Data is obtained from amount of fuel consumption of the motorcycle with addition of an electrolyzer tube containing varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions. The data is listed on tables and presented in form of graphics, and then, they are analyzed. The results of the research indicated that: (1) there was an effect of electrolyzer application with varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions on fuel consumption of Motorcycle Honda Supra-X 125D 2007. Results of the tests indicated that greater fuel saving was found with smaller diameter of copper wire; (2) The use of the electrolyzer with varied solutions also affected fuel consumption of Honda Supra-X 125D 2007. Results of tests showed that a greater fuel saving was found with the use of a strong alkali solution than the neutral one; (3) There was interaction of the electrolyzer use with varied diameters of copper wire and varied solutions on fuel consumption of Honda Supra-X 125D 2007. It was seen when the electrolyzer used copper wire of 1.5 mm in diameter and KOH solution, the fuel consumption was more efficient. The fuel consumption was 0.0035 liter/km or 18.81% more economical than standard condition.

Abstract

The purpose of this research improves activeness and learning outcomes of student XI TO B class on learning theory at automotive electrical lesson SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta for academic year 2012/2013. This data the research were activeness and learning outcomes of student. The Collecting of the data by using four ways, there was interview, observation, test, and questionaire. The observation sheet use six indicators of activeness : asking, argue, listening, reading, writing, and discussion. The data of the research was analyzed with descriptive analyse techniques. The research includes action research in education, namely classroom action research (PTK). This research was by one meeting activities before the cycle. PTK was carried out with two cycle?s, each cycle two meeting?s with one test in last of second meeting. Based on the result, result of research  was concluded that application of Problem Solving Learning  Method improved 9,25% activeness of  student XI TO B class on learning  theory   at  automotive   electrical   lesson SMK  Negeri  5  Surakarta  for academic year 2012/ 2013. Beside that application of Problem Solving Learning Method improved learning outcome of student XI TO B class on learning theory at automotive electrical lesson SMK Negeri 5 Surakarta for academic year 2012/2013.
