Abstract

Authoritarian leadership is a leadership style that emphasizes full control and unilateral decision-making by the leader, without the involvement of subordinates. This article discusses theoretically the impact of authoritarian leadership on work motivation, organizational environment, and long-term productivity, using a literature study approach. Although this style is often viewed negatively because it reduces motivation, limits creativity, and creates a rigid work environment, authoritarian leadership also has benefits in certain contexts, such as in crisis situations, hierarchical organizational structures, and the need for high efficiency. This paper describes the characteristics, benefits, advantages, and disadvantages of authoritarian leadership, and emphasizes the importance of a balance between control and flexibility for organizational success. This study aims to provide critical insight into the application of authoritarian leadership style and its impact in the context of the world of work. When viewed from a biblical perspective, authoritarian leadership is very contrary to the Bible.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of Missio Dei, or the Mission of God, as a theological foundation for the church's role in the modern era. Missio Dei asserts that mission is a divine initiative rooted in the nature of the Triune God and encompasses all creation and aspects of human life, extending beyond mere church activities. Amidst the complexities of the modern era, characterized by digital technological advancements, waves of globalization, and the emergence of secularism, postmodernism, and consumerism, the church faces significant challenges and opportunities. This report outlines how these characteristics of the modern era fundamentally influence the church's mission implementation, including triggering an identity crisis among adolescents. Therefore, a holistic and contextual mission approach is needed, integrating pastoral education, active involvement in social justice, and strategic utilization of digital technology. This report aims to provide a robust theological framework and adaptive practical strategies, enabling the contemporary church to strengthen its identity and relevance in effectively carrying out Missio Dei amidst changing times.

Abstract

This article reviews the concept of mission Dei as a theological basis for the mission of the church, especially in the context of the local church. Mission Dei emphasizes that the mission comes from God himself and not from humans or the church. In this case, the church is not the creator of the mission but rather an agent of mission Dei, with its involvement in God's ongoing work of salvation for the world. In this article, the author uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, by examining the origins of the concept of mission Dei, the purpose and content of its news, how mission Dei is with the identity of the church, and its role in the context of the local church. This article with the results of its study shows how the church, especially the local church, is called to be an agent of mission Dei with its evangelistic mission of forming a missionary church, serving (diakonia), and implementing it for the local church in realizing and carrying out God's mission in church service and in society.

Abstract

In the context of an increasingly pluralistic society, the church's mission is required to move from an exclusive approach to a dialogical, contextual, and loving testimony. Religious moderation, with values such as tolerance, anti-violence, openness to local culture, and national commitment, provides a safe and productive space for the church to present the Gospel without triggering identity conflicts. Through this approach, the church can carry out its mission not only through verbal proclamation, but also through real actions that fight for justice, peace, and common welfare. Thus, religious moderation is not an obstacle, but rather a strategic opportunity for the church to remain relevant and transformative in a pluralistic society. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research with a literature study method and the scientific sources used were relevant to the discussion of this article.

Abstract

Pastoral ministry is fundamentally rooted in the calling to serve, as exemplified by JesusChrist, the Good Shepherd. However, in today’s ecclesial context, it is not uncommon tofind situations where pastors are positioned or even positions themselves as those hoare served rather than as servants. This study aims to critically examine the role ofpastors as shepherds of the congregation amid the tension between the calling to serveand the tendency to be served. The research employs a qualitative method with apastoral case study approach by interviews, observation, and reflection on ministryexperiences within the congregation. The findings reveal a shift in the understanding ofpastoral ministry, influenced by congregational expectation, church culture, structuralworkload, and the psychological and spiritual conditions of pastors. This shif affectspastor’s relationships, the quality of shepherding, and the spirituality of ministry. Thestudy emphasizes the importance of continuous theological reflection and spiritualformation for pastors to remain faithful to their identity as servants and shepherds ofGod’s people. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of pastoraltheology and the practice of church ministry that is healthier, relational, and centered onthe example of Christ.

Abstract

This study explores the relationship and implementation of political theology in shaping the transformative participation of GMIM (Minahasa Evangelical Christian Church) youth in Manado, North Sulawesi. Political theology, as a discipline that studies the intersection between Christian faith and the public sphere, offers a critical framework for understanding how theological beliefs influence views and actions toward justice, power, and community governance. The main focus of this study is to examine how GMIM youth, as vital agents in the context of the Minahasa church and society, can internalize the principles of political theology. We will analyze how concepts such as divine justice, the prophetic calling of the church, and Christian social responsibility can encourage them to engage actively and constructively in responding to crucial GMIM issues.
