Jurnal Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial or Journal of Social Welfare (JIKS) is an academic journal on social welfare issues. JIKS invites academia and practitioners to send their articles to contribute their research and experiences in social welfare. A research article should be from original research and assess its contribution to social welfare. The conceptual study focuses on the empirical development of theory or concept in social welfare issues. The article can discuss theories and concepts based on themes and intervention levels. <![CDATA[Village development is a priority in national development, because it is closely related to the third point of the President's Nawacita which states that it is developing Indonesia from the periphery by strengthening regions and villages within the framework of a unitary state. This study aims to describe the impact of BUMDES on the welfare of rural communities. BUMDES is one of the programs to strengthen the role of the region. village aik batu buding, Belitung Districts, Bangka Belitung Islands Province has become one of the best BUMDES in the Province in 2016, because it is interesting to see the impact of the existence of BUMDES in the village on community welfare. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and used in-depth interview and observation techniques. The results of the study have shown that BUMDES has had an impact on the village economy. BUMDES has an impact on community business development in Aik Batu Buding Village. In addition, BUMDES encourages people to start a new business according to the potential of the community. <![CDATA[This research was conducted to find out the empowerment effort done by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through technical unit namely Unit Pengelola Dana Bergulir (UPDB) as implementing unit of Community Economic Empowerment Program (Program Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Kelurahan) to the administrators/managers of cooperatives or Koperasi Jasa Keuangan Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Kelurahan (KJK PEMK) as partner of UPDB in implementing this program. The research was conducted at KJK PEMK Kelapa Gading Barat, which is KJK PEMK which is considered smoothly in installment refund. The research was conducted using qualitative approach, with descriptive research type, and informant selection technique was done by purposive sampling. Findings of research indicate that there are efforts of empowerment from UPDB to administrators/managers of KJK PEMK, especially in the form of capacity building. It is intended that the administrators/managers KJK PEMK has the ability to manage KJK PEMK.]]>

<![CDATA[This research describes the evaluation of Youth Employment Program of Wahana Visi Indonesia as well as the factors that supports and obstructs the program in achieving its objectives (Case Study in Cilincing Sub-district, North Jakarta). This research was conducted with qualitative approach. The type of research is Sumatif Evaluation Research which aims to obtain information for program implementors about whether the program is worth continuing or has the potential to be applied in different contexts. The results of this study indicate that, Youth Employment program conducted by Wahana Visi Indonesia in Cilincing Sub-district has succeeded in achieving its goal to “Sustained improvement to household income to improve children’s well being. This can be seen from the field findings, that most of the informants in this stud are already working and have a steady income that contributes to the increase in family income. However, if the program is to replicate in a different context, it is necessary to make improvements in several areas, such as in the Assessment and Preparation.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses the dynamics, obstacles, and challenges that occur in the stage of social marketing strategy planning process undertaken by the management of Smile Train Indonesia with the organizational stakeholders as well as the efforts made by the organization management to overcome those. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive design. The results conclude that there is rarely conflicts between organizations and stakeholders in the organization’s social marketing planning process because of good conflict management and collaboration. But acknowledged by the stakeholders, there are several obstacles and challenges that are faced during the planning process. <![CDATA[The one form of corporate intervention in development is implemented into Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In the last ten years, the number of corporate that implement CSR is getting increase. However, there are not many holding companies that implement CSR comprehensively and make CSR as part of the company’s strategy. This research describes the CSR strategy at holding company PT Astra International which is implemented comprehensively and internalized in the overall activity of the company with qualitative method. The results of the research shows that one of the implementation of these strategies is the implementation of community development program with empowerment approach, as one method in the effort to achieve social welfare with Kampung Berseri Astra program. <![CDATA[The role of cadres is very important in improving posyandu services, therefore we need to strengthen the role of cadre as a source of health information and to encourage mothers with children under five years old to come to the posyandu. Through one of HSBC CSR programs called Pos Pintar Project, cadres are capacitated through the training of mobile-Posyandu applications so that they can provide better services to mothers with children under five years old who come to the posyandu. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of summative evaluation research. The result shows that posyandu cadres who use mobile-Posyandu applications are more helpful when monitoring the child's growth and development. The result of the monitoring submitted into the application which faster than the manual method. This application also supports cadres in providing counseling for mothers with children under five years old. It helps mothers to understand the counseling given by the cadres easier, so that they practice how to give appropriate feeding to their children. Given this situation, the capacity improvement for posyandu cadre through CSR program needs to be scaled up. However, improvement needs to made is some areas such as advocacy to the local government, staff management, as well as resolve technical issues that often appears in the mobile-Posyandu application.]]>

<![CDATA[Poverty is a social welfare issue and has become the focus of world development. The most basic form of poverty is the deprivation of welfare. Poverty is experienced by many developing countries like Indonesia and nowadays it is centered in rural areas. Therefore, PT Nestle as part of the private sector has an obligation to support and help solve poverty experienced by the state. The manifestations of these efforts are to support community empowerment through Budi Luhur Dairy Farmers Group --- as one of the strategies to reduce poverty. Why is it focused on dairy farmers? Because they increase the need for human beings in the framework of human investment. Budi Luhur is one of the successful groups of dairy farmers in the East Java. The success of Budi Luhur Dairy Farmer Group was also due to the help and role of PT Nestle who actively participated the empowerment activities. Hence, it is interesting to see further the process of empowerment by Nestle Corp through Budi Luhur Group. The method used is the qualitative approach in order to get deeper result. Based on research, the empowerment carried out by Nestle Corp produced a positive impact for the farmers to reduce poverty and unemployment exactly in in rural areas. However, the form of empowerment program provided is so far still limited to providing subsidies to support dairy farm activities assistance in the form of equipment.]]>

<![CDATA[People living HIV / AIDS have social problems in various dimensions, especially in the social dimension such as being excluded from the social environment, lacking social support, difficulties in establishing relationships with the social environment, and being not confident with status as himself as a person with HIV. To help people living HIV/AIDS problems in their social dimensions, in Jember Regency there is a Peer Support Group (PSG) of Pelangi which intervenes both with individual and group approaches. In carrying out the intervention, there were social worker who included former People living HIV/AIDS and not The role of social worker of the peer support group is very supportive in helping people living HIV/AIDS to overcome the social problems they face. This study was conducted to determine the various roles of PSG of Pelangi in each stage of intervention in people living HIV at the Vicity Clinic in Balung Hospital, Jember Regency. This study uses qualitative research, with descriptive types, and informant determination techniques with purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that there are various roles carried out by the social worker of the pelangi peer support group at each stage of intervention in people living HIV/AIDS especially in the social dimension. By maximizing these roles, the social worker of the PSG pelangi assistant managed to intervene well at each stage]]>
