Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a disease that needs to be controlled because it can become chronic. Family-based education programs are designed as an alternative to increase knowledge, compliance and even support for patients and their families. Objective: to determine the effectiveness of family-based education programs in increasing family support for elderly people with hypertension. Method: True experimental design: pretest – posttest design (before – after design). The population is elderly people with hypertension who live with their families. The sample size was 32 participants consisting of 16 experimental and 16 controls. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. Results: Wilcoxon test results: difference in average family support before and after education in both the experimental group (p value 0.001) and the control level of maturity (p value 0.587) which means there is an increase in knowledge in the experimental group. Test of differences using Mann-Whitney between the experimental and control groups with pretest results (p value 0.059) and posttest (p value 0.000), meaning that there are differences in family support between the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group experienced increased family support. Conclusion: This educational program is effective in increasing family support for elderly people with hypertension. So that it can be used by community health center nurses and cadres to educate patients and families in efforts to control hypertension in the community.

Abstract

Introduction: Cardiac arrest is a common cause of death, but many people are unaware of the signs and symptoms. This results in delays in requesting emergency assistance to start Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Teaching RJP to teenagers can improve skills and help create a society where mutual help is achieved. Objective: To determine the effect of education using the peer group method on the knowledge and skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation among students carried out at SMK Negeri 06 Manado. Method: This research method is quantitative research using a Quasi experimental design with a control group (non-equivalent control group design). The intervention group will be given cardiopulmonary resuscitation education using the peer group method, while the control group will be given cardiopulmonary resuscitation education via leaflets with 20 students in each group. Data collection tools will use knowledge questionnaires and observation sheets related to cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Results: Wilcoxon test results for knowledge before and after intervention in the intervention group (p value 0.000) and control group (p value 0.075), while the skills results for the intervention group (p value 0.008) and control group (p value 1.000). Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney test, students' knowledge shows a p value of 0.000, while for skills the p value is 0.004. Conclusion: Providing education about cardiopulmonary resuscitation using the peer group method has an effect on increasing students' knowledge and skills. It is hoped that students can continue providing this cardiopulmonary resuscitation education to other friends using the peer group method

Abstract

Introduction: Capsulitis Adhesive is a condition characterized by inflammation of the shoulder joint capsule with limitation of shoulder range of motion in the form of a capsule pattern and pain in the shoulder joint. The main cause is not yet known with certainty, but secondary effects can be systemic, extrinsic or intrinsic. Capsulitis adhesive cases affect around 2% of the population with an age range of 40-60 years. The symptoms that appear in this case are pain, limited range of motion of the joints, decreased muscle strength, shoulder girdle muscle atrophy and impaired functional activities. Objective: to determine the effect of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation in reducing pain and the effect of traction - translation in increasing the range of motion of joints in patients with capsulitis adhesive. Methods: case study with a 64 year old male respondent who complained of shoulder pain and limited movement in the shoulder joint. Results: after receiving physiotherapy intervention 8 times for 4 weeks, there was a change in tenderness to 2, and movement pain from 4 to 2. The range of motion of the shoulder joint increased, exorotation motion from 30° to 50°, abduction motion 80° to 110°, and endorotational movement of 30° to 45°. Conclusion: Physiotherapy management in the form of transcutaneous nerve electrical stimulation and traction-translation has an effect on reducing pain and increasing the range of motion of the shoulder joint as well as increasing the functional ability of patients with capsulitis adhesive.

Abstract

Background: Trigger Finger or locked finger is a type of case that occurs in the tendon which functions to flex the fingers. Trigger finger can occur due to inflammation in the area of injury or swelling of the tendon sheath can also occur, which causes the tendon sheath to be unable to work according to its mechanism. This can be caused by many activities such as flexing the hand, making a fist or grasping which is easier, faster, and often experiences trigger finger. Objective: To find out the Physiotherapy Management of Trigger Finger Using Ultrasound and Stretching Exercises to Increase Functional Activities. Method: case study conducted on a 55 year old respondent who complained of pain in the right shoulder. Results: After receiving physiotherapy treatment using Ultrasound and Stretching Exercise for 6 therapy sessions which were evaluated using the wrist and hand disability index (WHDI), good results were found in increasing the patient's functional activity. In the first therapy the result was 28 (moderate dependence) after the sixth therapy the result was 6 (minimal/small dependence). Conclusion: by carrying out physiotherapy treatment using Ultrasound and Stretching Exercise 6 times, the result was an increase in functional activity.

Abstract

Introduction: Physical, mental or emotional fatigue experienced by a nurse is a phenomenon that can describe burnout. When nurses start to feel boredom at work, the work environment will become unconducive. If this situation is allowed to drag on, it will cause nurse productivity or performance to decline. The negative impact will be felt by patients and families, colleagues, and management where nurses work. Objective: The study aims to find out burnout’s relationship with the performance of executive nurses at one of the hospitals in Sonder, Minahasa. Method: The study is a quantitave study with correlation analysis, to see if there is a link between variables with the cross-sectional study approach. The sample in this study is the managing nurse of 53 people who were procured using a total sampling. Research instruments using an MBI questionnaire (Maslach Burnout Inventory) and the 2017 formal performance questionnaire was then analysed using a spearmen test. Results: Based on the research results obtained, the value of p = 0.002 (α<0.05) so this shows that there is a relationship between burnout and the performance of implementing nurses, where the correlation coefficient number 0,412, which means that a variable relationship is strong enough with a a positive value and the therefore makes the two variables one way or another. Conclusion: From this research the heavier the burnout, the less the performance of the executive nurse will be.
