Abstract

Characteristics of Trader, Sanitation Processing and Analysis Content of Rhodamin B in Seasoning Chili Double-Milled in Traditional Market Sub-district Medan Baru in 2012. Rhodamin B is one of synthetic dyestuff commonly used as textile dyes are not allowed to use in food products. But there is still a trader who uses rhodamin B in food and beverage products. Seasoning chili double-milled is one of ingredient that is a result of grinding red chili until smooth. The housewife uses seasonings chili double-milled because it easy to use, cheap and time-saving. The purpose of this research was to know dyes rhodamin B in seasoning chili double-milled in traditional market sub-district Medan Baru in 2012, knowing characteristics of trader, the level of knowledge and sanitation processing seasoning chili double-milled. This research was a simple descriptive. The method used was applicable in the examination of laboratory in seasoning chili double-milled with chromatography paper and interview using a questionnaire to 11 traders in traditional market sub-district Medan Baru. Based on the observation known that the sanitary processing of seasoning chili double-milled did not meet the health requirement. The results of the laboratory examination known that all (100%) seasoning chili double-milled does not contain rhodamin B. The results of questionnaire showed that traders with knowledge of enough category as many as 8 (72.7%), traders with knowledge of good category as many as 2 (18.2%) and traders with knowledge of less category as many as 1 (9.1%). It was recommended to traders to pay more attention to sanitation processing and more wisely in choosing dye substance will be used and to the government to more tighten supervision and checks periodically on seasoning chili double-milled so there was no use dye substances not allowed as rhodamin B. Abstract

Description Of Hypersensitivity Symptoms Result Of  Electromagnetic Wave From Base Transceiver Station (Bts) In Padang Bulan Medan Baru 2012. phone as communication equipment require electromagnetic wave to perform it’s function, making effect in the growing of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) which produces increasing of electromagnetic wave. Elektromagnetic wave gave effect the production of melantonin hormone which produced by the pineal gland. The result of it is hypersensitivity complaints, namely headache, disturbance of sleep, disturbance of concentration, constant fatigue, muscle pain and nausea. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of electromagnetic wave and symptoms of hypersensitivity of the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) in Padang Bulan Street Jamin Ginting Medan Baru District. The type of this research was descriptive cross sectional with 27 respondents were women who work as housewife, consist of 9 respondents whose house were used as BTS and 18 respondents who lived within 13 meters of the BTS. The result of distribution of questionnaires was given to 27 respondents, the highest hypersensitivity complaints were muscle pain, 25 respondents (92,6%), constant fatigue, 14 respondents (88,9%) and disturbance of sleep 17 respondents (62,9%). Government should control the emission of BTS’s electromagnetic wave and will not give permission to build of BTS at the top of society house.   Keywords : Base Transceiver Station (BTS), electromagnetic wave, hypersensitivity complaint

Abstract

The solid and liquid waste treatment system and analysis of liquid waste effluent quality on plywood glue factory in Langsa city in 2012. The chemical waste that pollutes the environment is a serious problem and supplied by industrial activities such as plywood factory. Basically the waste treatment is not a difficult activities but the waste treatment requires the application of accurate waste treatment method. This research aims to study the solid and liquid waste treatment system and analysis of liquid waste effluent quality on plywood glue factory in Langsa city in 2012. This research is adescriptive survey study by using observation sheet on solid and liquid waste treatment in plywood factory and the inspection of liquid waste sampel in effluent point and waste water treatment plant influent and the recycled liquid waste. The results of observation indicates that the solid waste treatment system in plywood factory use the incineration method, reuse of urea bag. The liquid waste treatment in plywood factory uses the sendimentation and aeratoin process. The result of laboratory analysis of liquid waste effluent is : COD 51,2 ppm, Temp 27ºC, Amonia (NH3) 0,1 ppm, TSS 3,7 ppm, Phenol 0 ppm, BOD5 25,5 ppm and pH 6,9. The conclusion of this research is solid waste treatment systems on plywood glue factory yet qualified, while the liquid waste treatment system has met the terms and parameters have been standardized. The plywood glue factory recommended to make corrections to the solid waste treatment systems, but it is also immediate burning the sludge of solid waste by using incinerators. Abstract

Processing Sanitation Hygiene And Laboratory Analysis E.coli  in Nutrient Installation Of General Hospital H.Adam Malik. Food processing sanitation hygiene is intended to make better health life and to avoid disease. The application of the principle of food processing sanitation hygiene was carried out before food production, during manufacturing process, storage, transportation up to serving the food. The objective of this research was to know the description of sanitation hygiene and the contents of Escherichia coli in cooked food and the appliances of stainless steel plates in nutrient installation of general hospital H. Adam Malik. The method used was descriptive by observing the description of sanitation hygiene and laboratory analysis to the content of E.coli in cooked food product and stainless steel plate. The data was obtained with interview and observation. The result of research showed that nutrient installation of general hospital H. Adam Malik in sanitation hygiene fulfilled health requirements in accordance with Decision of Health Ministry RI No.1098/Menkes/SK/VII/2003 with total score 783,5 (>700) even though some points did not fulfill health requirements as in manufacturing food, cooked food storage and laboratory analysis, which  from 6 samples of cooked food checked in the laboratory and 2 samples did not fulfill health requirements since it contained E.coli. Stainless steel eating plate appliances were still in safe limit accordance with Decision of Health Ministry RI No.1098/Menkes/SK/VII/2003. Based on the result of research, it is necessary to supersive and give counseling regarding nutrient installation in hospital H. Adam Malik about the importance of food sanitation hygiene and appliances tools in food processing to fulfill health requirements. Key words : Sanitation, Escherichia coli, Food, Appliances

Abstract

Descriptive of Knowledge, Attitude and Practise of the Workers at the Production Section About the Implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in PT Toba Pulp Lestari Porsea Year 2012. The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) is the part that can not be separated from the other management activity in an institution of work site or a company, such as production management, human resource management, financial management, etc. This research aims to know the description of knowledge, attitude and workers practices on the production section about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) in PT. Toba Pulp Lestari Porsea with descriptive research design. The population of this research was all the workers who work in production section counted 374 people and the samples was taken with proportional random sampling technique from the population that is also the workers who work in production section with amount 80 people. According to the result of this research, that knowledge of the worker about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the good category that is counted 80 people (100 %), the worker attitude about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the favorable category that is counted 80 people (100 %) and worker practice about the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) reside in the good category that is counted 80 people (100%). It is a recommendation to improving the supervision and development in order to apply The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) and to optimize the implementation of The Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SMK3) through training and education. Abstract

Relationship between worker characteristics and how to work with fatigue conducted by oil palm harvester in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Unit Usaha Adolina 2012.. Physical activity of the oil palm harvester work in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Unit Usaha Adolina as a whole was still done manually is risk to experienInterval Kepercayaanng fatigue. This research was an analytic researching with cross sectional design toanalyze the relationship between worker characteristics and how to work with fatigue caused by harvesting conducted by oil palm harvester in PT. Perkebunan Nusantara IV (Persero) Unit Usaha Adolina 2012. This research was carried out in PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Unit Usaha Adolina Kab. Serdang Berdagai,which the number of sample were 81 harvesters.The result of this research showed that there are relationship between age with fatigue (p=0.002), there is relationship between history of disease with fatigue (p=0.001), there is relationship between the period of work with fatigue (p=0.009), there is relationship between nutritional status with fatigue (p=0.016), there is a significant relationship between the how of working to cut stem and TBS according to the different age of the plant with fatigue (p=0.001). there was no significant relationship between the how of working to lift, entering, and carrying TBS with use rickshaw to TPH according to the different age of the plant with fatigue (p=0.238).From the result of the study suggested to the management, to adjust the number of harvesters to harvest a different way of working according to the age plant, due to the distinct level of difficulty and also the expense. Abstract

Correlation Between Energy Consumption and Productivity of Workers Are Elderly Sorting Workers at Klambir V PTPN II 2012. Level of energy consumption is take from food consumption, every worker have relation with productivity when do work. This research is quantitative design analytical survey to analyze the relation between level of energy consumption and productivity of elderly sorting workers  at the Kebun Klambir V PTPN II in 2012. Samples based on purposive sampling as many as  25 people from contract workers at Kebun Klambir V PTPN II.The study of energy consumption using food recall questioner the productivity showed with the leaves of tobacco bonds.The result of  good level energy consumption 13 people (52,0%), 9 peoples with appropriate productivity (69,2%) and 4 people with unappropriate productivity (30,8%). Less level  energy consumption  there are 12 people (48,0%) with less energy consumption no one with appropriate productivity  and 12 (100%) with unapporpriate productivity. This relation between level of energy consumption and productivity showed signfiicant result which meant there were relation between level of energy consumption and productivity (P=0,000). Key words : level of energy consumption, productivity, elderly sorting worker.

Abstract

Characteristics of employees who work in room with air conditioner and has complaints of Sick Building Syndrome at office of TVRI Medan in 2012. Sick Building Syndrome is an accumulation of health problems related to air quality on an environment, or can also be defined as a non-specific health complaints from the occupants of the room air conditioned such as redness and watery eye, nasal congestion, sneezing, dry skin, and allergic to cold air. The purpose of the research is to identify the characteristics of employees working in air-conditioned based on: age, sex, length of employment, smoking habits, allergies, nutrition of state, and medical history to the incidence of Sick Building Syndrom. The type of study was descriptif of employees who are being in room with air conditioner including: age, sex, length of employment, smoking habits, allergies, nutrition of state, and medical history to the incidence of Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) at office of TVRI Medan. The result showed that is no characteristics of employees working a room with air conditioner including age, sex, length of employment, smoking habits, allergies, nutritional status, and medical history of complaints of sick Building Syndrome as lethargic complaints, headaches, dry throat, redness and watery eye, nasal congestion, and sneezing. The conclusions obtained from this research is none of employees who work in TVRI room with air conditioner has complaints of Sick Building Syndrome. Abstract

Analysis the Amount of Insecticide Residue Organophosphate Group on Cabbage (Brassica oleracea)After Washing and Boiling in Dolat Rakyat Village Karo Regency 2012.Insecticide was known to be potentially dangerous to consumers. Risk of insecticide use was insecticide residue may be persist on agricultural products, such as cabbage.The purpose of this research was to know farmer’s insecticide application, insecticide residue on cabbage in Dolat Rakyat Village Karo Regency,and the effectivenes of various chemical solution to reduce the residue.This research was a simple descriptive. The method used was applicable in the examination of laboratory on cabbage and interview using a questionnaire to 3farmers who plant cabbages.The Result showed that the type of insecicides used by farmers was organophosphate and diamida group. Dosage used was appropriate with the regulation with 15 times of spray and interval spray before haverst was less 1 week.On haverst,residue on cabbage was chlorpiryphos with 0,698 mg/kg. Washing with running water reduce the residue by 76,36%, soaking with DWC’s water by 22,64%, vinegar solution by 35,53%, salt solution by 65,90%, bicarbonat solution by 40,97%, lemon solution by 46,99%, washing followed by boilling by 76,93%.It can be concluded that residue on cabbage obtained from  Dolat Rakyat village was not exceeded it’s allowable MRL.Washing followed by boiling was found comparatively more effective than washing alone in dislodging the residue.It had been suggested tofarmers toapplyinsecticidesin accordancewith the regulation andconsumers torecognize the importance ofwashing processbefore consumption.
