Abstract

Some fried food merchants located at the intersection of the highway near the traffic lights, where it was risk contaminated by lead resulting smoke emission vehicles. Lipophilic of lead could be attached to the cooking oils. This study was descriptive research, intended to know the levels of lead (Pb) in the cooking oils before and after fried that used fried merchants caused smoke pollution. The object of this study were 10 points cooking oils samples consist of 5 samples before and 5 samples after fried. The results of the study showed that there was one sample before frying cooking oils that were not eligible under the Regulation of BPOM RI No. HK.00.06.1.52.4011 2009, while the other four were eligible. For samples of cooking oils after fried, all points were not eligible. Behaviors of merchants at five intersections also was still not in accordance with the principles of food hygiene and sanitation in food processed  to avoid contamination of lead (Pb). It was recommended to the Medan City Health Department to coach and supervise the fried food trade that were found sold friend food in the highway intersections. Abstract

Residu insektisida pada tanaman dapat berasal dari hasil penyemprotan pada tanaman. Residu insektisida terdapat pada semua tubuh tanaman seperti batang, daun, buah, dan juga akar. Khususnya pada buah, residu ini terdapat pada permukaan maupun daging dari buah tersebut.  Profenofos merupakan salah satu bahan aktif dari jenis insektisida golongan organofosfat yang digunakan untuk melindungi tanaman cabai dan tidak boleh melebihi batas maksimum residu (BMR) yang ditetapkan oleh Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) yaitu 5 mg/kg. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui residu insektisida profenofos pada cabai merah segar dan cabai merah giling di beberapa pasar tradisional Kota Medan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei yang bersifat deskriptif yaitu menggambarkan kuantitas residu insektisida profenofos pada cabai merah segar dan cabai merah giling di beberapa  pasar tradisional Kota Medan. Sampel diambil secara purposive sampling yaitu 5 (lima) pasar tradisional Kota Medan yang dari tiap pasar diambil 1(satu) penjual yang menjual cabai merah segar dan cabai merah giling. Penetapan kadar residu profenofos yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan Kromatografi Gas dilengkapi dengan detector spesifik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan,  bahwa dari 10 sampel yang diteliti terdapat 3 (tiga) sampel yang positif mengandung residu insektisda profenofos yaitu cabai merah segar dari Pasar Aksara dengan nilai 0,733 mg/kg, cabai merah segar dari Pasar Sukaramai dengan nilai 1, 205 mg/kg, dan cabai merah giling dari Pasar Petisah dengan nilai 0, 128 mg/kg dan masih berada dibawah batas maksimum residu (BMR) yang ditetapkan oleh Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapatnya 3 (tiga) sampel yang positif mengandung insektisida profenofos di beberapa pasar tradisional Kota Medan. Oleh karena itu, disarankan kepada konsumen agar lebih memperhatikan cara pencucian cabai sebelum digiling, sedangkan untuk petani lebih memperhatikan cara pemakaian pestisida.     Kata kunci : Residu, Profenofos, Cabai Segar, Giling.

Abstract

Sanitize Hygiene Implementation  and Examination of Escherichia Coli Content on Refill Drinking Water Depot on Tanjung Pinang Barat Sub-District in 2012. Water represents one the requirement very important human being. So to peaceful and healthy yielded drinking water hence needed by effort management drinking water depot sanitize hygiene. Contamination of drinking water marked with existence of Escherichia coli bacterium as indicator contamination of water.Intention of this research is to know sanitize hygiene execution and obstetrical inspection of  Escherichia coli in refill drinking water yielded by Town Tanjungpinang West area drinking water depot. Method which is used in this research  to have the character of descriptive seen sanitize hygiene execution and inspection of laboratory to Escherichia coli content in refill drinking water. Technics of intake of sample that is totalizing sampling. Amount of sample which is observation and checked that is 10 refill drinking water depot. Observation conducted in District of Tanjungpinang West. Result of research indicate that entire/all drinking water depot not yet fully applied sanitize hygiene execution for example: location, building, relocation of standard water, desinfeksi, consumer service, employees, lawn, so that result of production some ineligible town Tanjungpinang West area drinking water depot of health. Result of inspection laboratory to positive Escherichia coli content in two drinking water depot ( 20%). Pursuant to that thing, need performing counseling and observation by relevant institution or Public Health service about is important of drinking water depot sanitize hygiene important of refill so that drinking water which consumed by up to standard society of health.

Abstract

Descriptive of Firefighter Job Risk at Dinas Pencegah Pemadam Kebakaran (DP2K) Medan.The development ofanurban areahas broughta number ofimportant issues, such asthe threat offire hazard. Theauthorized institutionstotacklefiresisthe fire department. The purposeof this studywas to determine thejob riskfaced byfirefightersin Dinas Pencegah Pemadam Kebakaran(DP2K) Medanby using aqualitativeapproach. Dataobtained fromin-depthinterviewswithmembers ofDP2K Medan at Technical Unit I using voice recorder.The results showed the job riskoffirefightersmostlywhen they go to the location of fire,theriskof traffic,andwhen they extinguishfire at thelocation of fire. Job risk at fire location likeaccidentsdue toelectricity, heat, fire, working at height, equipmentoutages, explosions, backdraftandflashover,the condition ofthe buildingon fire,sharp objects, andphysical fightswithpeople. Health complaintsthattheyfeel ingeneralis caused bymanyof the firesmoke inhalationsuch as cough, shortness ofbreath, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, eye irritation, andlimp.GovernmentandDP2KMedan expected toincrease the amount ofPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE). Firefightersare expected to alwaysusing PPEon dutyfirefightingto minimizeunwanted risks. Abstract

Overview Of Worker's Perception Of Risk Of Occupational Accidents In Production And Utility Department PT. Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Dumai in 2012. Perception is a factor that affects the behavior. Perception of risk is a process by which individuals interpret information they receive about the risk. If a person's perception of risk is poor, its behavior tend to ignore the risk of exposure. The purpose of this research is knowing an overview about worker's perception of risk of occupational accidents in Production and Utility Department PT. Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Dumai in 2012. This kind of research is descriptive quantitative approach. The number of samples obtained by 42 people with total sampling. Primary data obtained from interviews using the questionnaire in two departments. Secondary data about an overview of company were obtained from HR department and EHS PT. Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Dumai and Pelintung. Data were analyzed descriptively. From the results of research obtained from the 42 respondents that as many as 37 people (88,1%) have a good perception about the risk of occupational accidents and 5 (11.9%) have a poor perception about the risk of occupational accidents. Respondents have a poor perception of the risk of accidents in the workplace and the prevention of accidents. Researchers suggested that companies provide safety training on the identification of the potential hazards in the workplace and the prevention of accidents for all their workers to improve knowledge of worker about safety in work. Companies should also improving monitoring at the workplace with respect to the compliance of workers in the use of personal protective equipment. Abstract

Sanitation Hygiene InThe Special Hospital Of Lung Treatment At Medan North Sumatera Province  in  2012. BP4 Medan is one of the special hospitals of community health service unit owned  by the government of North Sumatera for health treatment and special treatment of lung such as tuberculosis. As one special hospital, BP4 Medan should fulfill the criteria of sanitation hygiene including health officers and its environmental. Other parameters determining the quality of the hospital are such as humidity degree, lighting and noisy. Tuberculosis is a malignant disease and can spread for other people caused by any contact with health officers or its environmental based on Health Ministry Rule the Republic of Indonesia of 2004 concerning with sanitation hygiene. The objective of this research was to descript of sanitation hygiene at BP4 Medan especially those health officers and the facilities of health environmental (sanitation) whether it fulfilled health requirement or Health Ministry Rule the Republic of Indonesia of Permenkes No. 1204/2004. The method used was descriptive  describing  the application of hygiene among health officers and  environmental’s facilities at BP4 Medan. The findings showed that not all hygiene of health officers at BP4 Medan fulfilled health requirement in accordance with the principle of sanitation hygiene applied in hospital such as BP4 Medan such as without masker during working, without gloves, talking at working, without washing hand before and after caring the patients, eating and drinking in hospital room. For environmental  health which did not fulfill health requirements were such as solid and liquid management, toilet and over capacity bathroom, laundry as well as other intruder animals entering the environmental.In creating good sanitation hygiene and environmental, it is suggested for head of  BP4 Medan to improve the facilities of sanitation and give the training related to the principles of sanitation health for health officers at BP4 Medan. Abstract

The Difference of Musculoskeletal Disorder Before and After Treatment Stretching Exercises on Dental Health in Medan Area District Health Center in 2012.This research was conducted to determine differences in musculoskeletal disorders before and after treatment stretching exercises on dental health in Medan Area District Health Center in 2012. The study was designed praeksperimental ie; one group pre test and post test design in order to determine differences in musculoskeletal disorders before and after treatment stretching exercises on dental health in Medan Area District Health Center in 2012. Samples based on total sampling as many as 8 people. Musculoskeletal disorders  measured by nordic body map. From the measurement results it can be seen that musculoskeletal disorders after stretching the category of pain and not felt of respondents by 8 (100%), with a bit of a pain that most categories perceived by respondents were in the upper neck, lower neck, 7 (87.5%). Based on the Wilcoxon test is known that musculoskeletal disorders before and after the stretching exercises on the upper neck, lower neck, left shoulder, right upper arm, waist, left forearm, right forearm and right wrist has a value of p <0.05 (have difference musculoskeletal disorders stretching before and after exercise). It is recommended that health care workers perform stretching exercises teeth after 4 hours of work by targeting specific locations that could potentially lead to pain and imbalance. Abstract

Hygiene sanitation and analysis of artificial sweeteners on the produce of dodol on Kecamatan Panyabungan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal in 2012. Dodol is a kind of snack which is popular and spread among the Indonesian community. The process which is home industry made the control of sweetener usage is unclear, based on the producer desire. More over the process is still traditionally, as of the workers do not care enough to the hygiene sanitation of the dodol making process. The purpose of this research was to obtain the description of hygiene sanitation process and the analysis of artificial sweeteners content on the produce of dodol snack in Kecamatan Panyabungan Kabupaten Mandailing Natal in 2012. The type of this research was descriptive survey by observing sanitation hygiene and laboratory analysis to obtain artificial sweetener contents on dodol.  The result of the research showsed that hygiene sanitation principal on dodol making process which comply with Ministry of Health Decree of Indonesia Number 942 / Menkes / SK / VII/2003 was storage of raw. From the 7 samples of dodol which inspected, there were 3 samples which contain of artificial sweeteners with saccharin grading are 00274 mg/kg, 0.0073 mg/kg, and 0.0054 mg/kg which comply with health permit, according to Permenkes RI No.722/Menkes/Per / IX/1988. The Health Department needs to conduct a thorough counseling and supervision by the related institution (Department of Health) on the importance of food hygiene sanitation, also counseling to the producer in the usage of food sweeteners.
