Abstract

This research is motivated by students' critical thinking skills in processing information while the learning process is still low. The purpose of this study is 1) to describe the implementation of learning by implementing contextual teaching and learning models through laboratory observation and environmental methods on scientific attitudes and critical thinking of students, 2) to obtain implementation data in contextual teaching and learning models through laboratory observation methods and the environment can improve scientific attitude, 3) to determine the implementation of contextual teaching and learning models through laboratory observation and environmental methods can improve critical thinking skills, 4) to uncover students' responses to the implementation of contextual teaching and learning models through laboratory and environmental observation methods on scientific attitudes and critical thinking students. The method used in this study is a mixed method (mixed methods research design). With the sampling technique using cluster random sampling, there were 2 classes, each of which amounted to 30 students for the experimental class and 30 students for the control class. The research instrument used was task and rubric students' scientific attitudes, essay tests of critical thinking skills, student response questionnaires to learning and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Based on the results of the analysis of hypothesis testing shows the value t = 4.476 with Sig. 0.001 <0.05 means that the implementation of the contextual teaching and learning model through laboratory observation methods and the environment can improve scientific attitudes. Based on the results of hypothesis testing shows the value t = 8.486 with Sig. 0.001 <0.05 means that the implementation of the contextual teaching and learning model through laboratory and environmental observation methods can improve critical thinking skills in plant material at SMA 1 Darma Kuningan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan retensi siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pre test post test control group design  dan menggunakan sampel penelitian sebanyak 52 siswa kelas VII di salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Kuningan. Rata-rata N-gain keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan untuk kelas eksperimen 0,7 (kategori tinggi) dan kelas kontrol 0,4 (kategori sedang). Sedangkan tingkat retensi siswa pada materi pencemaran lingkungan untuk kelas kontrol 34,6% (kategori baik), 30,8% (kategori sangat baik) dan kelas eksperimen 30,8% (kategori baik), 46,1% (kategori sangat baik).

Abstract

This study  aimed  to improve the critical thinking ability and scientific attitude of junior high school students’ using implementation of inquiry learning with android at plant classification.This research method use quasy experiment with research design pre-test post-test control group design. The Population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Garawangi 2019/2020 academic years. The sample in the research using the purporsive samples. The experiment class was treated using an inquiry learning with android model consisting of 29 students and the control class was treated with conventional method consisting of 28 students’. Data collection use a description test for critical thinking skills, a scientific attitude rubic for scientific attitudes and a questionnaire for student responses. Research hypothesis testing uses paired two-sample T-test with the help of SPSS 17 software. The results of the research showed that: (1) the implementation of learning inquiry model with android is well implemented, marked by an average percentage of 100 % with a very upward category. (2) There is an increased in students’ critical thinking ability with moderate N-gain criteria (0,55) and the calculated value of 10,136 at the sig level 0,05. (3) Scientific attitudes get an average total value (80) including both categories. (4) There is a corretation between students’ critical thinking ability with students’ scientific attitudes with a probability coefficient of 0,001 < 0,025 and a pearson correlation value of 0,442**.(5)  The majority of student (88%) gave positive responses to the application of the inquiry model with android. Thus, students’ critical thinking ability and scientific attitudes increase through the model inquiry with android

Abstract

Penemuan Bakteri penghasil hormon IAA (Indole-3-Acetic Acid) merupakan bukti bahwa ilmu pengetahuan terus berkembang sehingga pengintegrasian aspek–aspek hakikat sains dalam pembelajaran perlu dilakukan supaya sistem pembelajaran tidak kaku dan hanya mengacu pada informasi dari buku teks. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hakikat sains siswa melalui praktikum uji potensi bakteri penghasil Hormon IAA berbantu LKS berbasis diagram vee. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan deskriptif. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah the posttest only control group design. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MA Darul ‘Ulum kelas XII tahun ajaran 2019/2020, dengan sampel sebanyak satu kelas yang diambil dengan tehnik purposive random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Terdapat tiga aspek hakikat sains yang difahami siswa secara baik yaitu pada aspek kreativitas dan imajinasi dalam sains (64,17%), pengetahhuan ilmiah terikat dengan aspek sosial budaya (61.15%) dan perbedaan antara teori ilmiah dan hukum ilmiah (56,77%). Sementara untuk empat aspek hakikat sains yang lain dapat difahami siswa dengan kategori cukup seperti aspek pengetahuan ilmiah bersifat tentatif (46,15%), pengetahuan ilmiah bersifat empiris (47,73%), teori-laden / subjektivitas dan objektivitas (44,64%) dan metode ilmiah beragam (42,36%). (2) Adapun perolehan persentase nilai rata-rata tertinggi berada pada aspek kreativitas dan imajinasi dalam sains sebesar (64,17%) dan perolehan persentase terendah yaitu pada aspek metode ilmiah beragam sebesar (42,36%)

Abstract

This study aimed to obtain information about logical thinking ability and understanding of the concept of students on the hormonal system material. This study was conducted in class XI in one of the high schools in the Serang city. The method used is descriptive quantitative. This quantitative descriptive method to describe, explain and interpret the logical thinking ability and understanding of students on the hormonal system concept by using instruments such as diagnostic tests and about the three-tier test and test of logical thinking (TOLT). The sampling technique is done by cluster random sampling as many as 33 students. Based on the results obtained TOLT that categorized either proportional reasoning, reasoning control variable and low category correlational reasoning, and reasoning probability and combinatorial reasoning sufficient category. Based on the three-tier test results showed that students had difficulty understanding especially on subconcepts hormone function as well as differences in the hormone system and nervous system

Abstract

The purpose of this study is 1) to describe the implementation of learning by implementing a project based learning model of learning towards scientific attitudes and student creativity on the concept of waste recycling, 2) to obtain data on the implementation of project based learning model learning can improve scientific attitudes on the concept of waste recycling, 3) to determine the implementation of project based learning model learning can increase student creativity on the concept of waste recycling, 4) to uncover student responses by implementing a project based learning model of learning towards scientific attitudes and student creativity on the concept of waste recycling.The method used in this research is the experimental method. With the technique of sampling by cluster random sampling in 2 classes each can get 34 students for the experimental class and 34 students for the control class. The research instrument used was the task and rubric of students' scientific attitudes, tasks and rubrics of creativity, questionnaires for student responses to learning and observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Based on the results of the analysis of the hypothesis test showed the value of t = 4.476 with Sig. 0.001 <0.05 means that the implementation of the project based learning model of learning can improve scientific attitudes on the concept of waste recycling.
