Abstract

Science learning plays a crucial role in the process of shaping human character, particularly through the skills and habits of scientific thinking that can serve as a foundation for moral, character, and ethical development in national education. Science learning functions as a benchmark or reference point for character formation, helping individuals develop strong personal integrity. This study aims to understand the concept of character education from the perspective of Hadith through contextual and non-contextual analysis. Data were collected from various references and analyzed using an interpretive approach focused on extracting core meanings. The findings of this research indicate that the Hadiths examined in this study contain patterns and guidelines for human behavior. Character education becomes more explicit through the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, especially those Hadiths that emphasize moral and character formation. The abundance of Hadiths related to character requires Muslim scholars to fully utilize character education based on the Qur’an and Hadith. The Qur’an and the Prophet’s Hadith can be applied as foundational principles and within various domains of education, especially in response to the increasing cases of moral and criminal issues occurring within Indonesia’s educational environment. As students, we must be able to address and neutralize these issues through a Sharia-based perspective that refers to the Prophet’s Hadiths and the Qur’an.

Abstract

This research examines the essence and urgency of Islamic spiritual values within the context of Indonesian nation-building. As a country with a Muslim majority, Indonesia holds significant potential to integrate the noble tenets of Islamic teachings—such as Tawhid (monoteis), Ukhuwah (brotherhood), 'Adl (justice), Amanah (trustworthiness), and tolerance—as the moral and ethical foundation for national development. The spiritual essence of Islam focuses not merely on ritual dimensions but also on shaping individualis with integrity, responsibility, and social concern. The urgency of these values lies in their role as an antidote to various developmental challenges, including corruption, social disintegration, economic disparity, and moral crisis. By internalizing spiritual values, it is expected that a harmonious, just, and prosperous society will be created, alongside a clean and authoritative state administrator. This study concludes that the mainstreaming of Islamic spiritual values through education, public policy, and the active role of religious institutions is a pressing and strategic necessity to achieve sustainable and dignified nation-building, in line with the ideals of Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

Abstract

This study explores the strategies and dynamics of implementing the values of honesty and discipline through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) courses in Public Universities (PTU). Amid the ongoing issues of moral degradation and academic ethical challenges, PTUs carry a strategic responsibility not only to produce intellectually competent professionals but also individuals with integrity. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at State University [Pseudonym]. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with PAI lecturers and students, participatory observation during the learning process, and analysis of Semester Learning Plan (RPS) documents. The findings indicate that: (1) Value internalization is carried out through the integration of the hidden curriculum and lecturer role modeling; (2) Problem-based learning methods are effective in stimulating academic honesty; and (3) The main challenges include the dichotomy between general and religious sciences and a heterogeneous social environment. The study concludes that PAI in PTU must transform from merely transferring cognitive knowledge into a holistic character-building platform.

Abstract

The development of social competence among educational administrative staff is a crucial aspect in supporting the effective operation of schools. Administrative staff are not only responsible for administrative tasks but also need adequate social skills to establish effective communication with teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders. This study aims to analyze strategies for developing the social competence of educational administrative staff and the factors influencing it. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis in several primary and secondary schools. The results indicate that social competence of administrative staff is influenced by interpersonal communication skills, empathy, teamwork, and conflict management. Systematic training programs, mentoring, and habitual professional interactions were found to effectively enhance their social abilities. Additionally, a supportive work environment and a collaborative school culture play a significant role in strengthening social competence.

Abstract

This research seeks to examine how multicultural education is applied to promote tolerance in inclusive classrooms in primary schools. Multicultural education is crucial within the context of diversity in Indonesia, particularly in elementary schools where students come from various cultural, religious, and ability backgrounds, including those with special needs. To meet this goal, this research utilized a literature review approach, which included gathering, examining, and synthesizing a range of pertinent scientific materials, including domestic and global journals, reference books, and earlier research results. The data were examined through a descriptive-qualitative lens, leading to both a theoretical and practical comprehension of how multicultural education is applied in inclusive elementary schools. The findings suggest that multicultural education is crucial in fostering values of tolerance, empathy, fairness, and mutual respect in students. By adopting methods like integrating diversity principles into the curriculum, using cooperative learning, fostering intercultural engagement, and promoting project-based initiatives, educators can create a classroom environment that appreciates diversity. The research indicates that there are contributing elements like teacher preparedness, inclusive educational policies, and the implementation of diversity-focused learning resources. Nonetheless, challenges exist such as teachers' insufficient comprehension of multicultural education, inadequate supporting resources, and minimal community engagement. This study validates that the adoption of multicultural education in inclusive classrooms is a proactive measure to promote tolerance among elementary school students. These initiatives need to be implemented in a systematic and ongoing way to effectively address the obstacles presented by diversity in education.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Child-Friendly Schools (SRA) policies in preventing bullying of students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in inclusive elementary schools. The main focus of the research is how SRA principles are applied to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students with special needs. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study examines the role of teachers, school policies, and intervention strategies designed to build an anti-bullying culture. Data was obtained through literature studies and field observations, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that comprehensive assessment, curriculum modification, and support of special assistant teachers are key factors in the success of inclusive education. The consistent and collaborative implementation of SRA policies has been proven to increase the awareness of all school residents on the importance of protecting and accepting student diversity. In addition, the involvement of teachers, parents, and sustainable government policies is indispensable to strengthen inclusive education systems. This study emphasizes that the implementation of SRA is not only a bullying prevention strategy, but also a strategic step in ensuring the right of children with special needs to obtain equal, quality, and development-oriented education that is oriented towards the development of potential and positive character.

Abstract

Inclusive education in elementary schools requires learning strategies that accommodate students’ diverse abilities and learning needs. Differentiated instruction is considered a relevant approach to support inclusive learning. This study aims to describe the practice of differentiated learning as a strategy for inclusive education in elementary schools. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using classroom observations, teacher interviews, and documentation analysis. The findings indicate that differentiated instruction is implemented through variations in content, learning processes, and learning products adjusted to students’ readiness and learning profiles. This approach enhances student participation, learning motivation, and supports the inclusion of students with special needs. The study concludes that differentiated instruction is an effective strategy for fostering inclusive learning environments in elementary schools

Abstract

The development of digital technology demands innovation in mathematics education at the elementary school level, particularly regarding data processing topics, which students still find challenging. Low learning interest and a lack of student engagement in understanding the concepts of mean, median, and mode are issues that need to be addressed through the use of interactive learning media. This study aims to develop and test the validity and practicality of "MEMODI," a Canva-based interactive mathematics learning medium for fifth-grade data processing materials. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN 4 Nagri Kaler. Data collection techniques included validation sheets from material and media experts, as well as student response questionnaires. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques by calculating feasibility percentages. The results indicated that the "MEMODI" learning medium achieved a very high validity score, with an average percentage of 92.25%, and a practicality level of 95%, falling into the "very practical" category. The implementation of the medium showed that the use of Canva was able to increase student engagement, facilitate the understanding of mean, median, and mode concepts, and support independent learning through interactive features and direct feedback. Consequently, the Canva-based interactive learning medium "MEMODI" is declared valid, practical, and feasible for use as an alternative mathematics learning medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of inclusive education in shaping students’ character of mutual respect at the elementary school level. Inclusive education emphasizes equal learning opportunities for all students regardless of differences in abilities, backgrounds, or special needs. This research is grounded in the importance of fostering respect as a fundamental social character in diverse learning environments. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this study. The participants consisted of teachers and students in an inclusive elementary school. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that inclusive education plays a significant role in developing students’ attitudes of mutual respect, as reflected in positive social interactions, acceptance of differences, empathy, and cooperative behavior among students. Through inclusive learning practices, students learn to appreciate diversity and build respectful relationships. Therefore, inclusive education contributes effectively to character education, particularly in fostering mutual respect among elementary school students.

Abstract

Special Needs Schools (SLB) play a strategic role in providing educational services for students with special needs who have diverse characteristics and needs. Learning in SLB remains based on national policies and curricula, but its implementation is adapted to the abilities, needs, and conditions of students. This article aims to describe school policies in planning and implementing learning in SLB, the role of the principal in supporting teacher performance, factors supporting the educational process, student characteristics, learning methods, evaluation systems, and the role of parents in supporting children's education. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field study approach through observation and interviews. The results of the study indicate that learning flexibility, collaboration between stakeholders, and the application of a humanistic approach are key factors in the successful implementation of education in SLB.
