Abstract

A life led by the Holy Spirit is a life filled with the Holy Spirit in the sense that believers continue to walk in the Spirit. Paul commands us through Galatians 5:16-18 that we must give ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. Because for Paul to live being led by the Holy Spirit means living in accordance with God's will and being able to do the truth that has been revealed through his only begotten son, Christ. Life led by the Holy Spirit is defined by three theories. First, according to John Bevere and Addison Bevere who say that a life led by the Holy Spirit means that the Holy Spirit will reveal all the truth of God to us. That is why it is important for us to invite the Holy Spirit to be present within us. Second, according to Elmer L. Towns, who said that a life led by the Holy Spirit means that the Holy Spirit will make us holy before God and in perfect condition before God. Third, according to J. Wesley Brill who said that a life led by the Holy Spirit means that the Holy Spirit invites and leads us in holiness.

Abstract

God gives humans a gift that is completely free. Before receiving God's grace, humanity had lost their glory as a result of sin. The distance between man and God increases as a result of this transgression. However, God chose to act by sending His only begotten Son into the world to atone for and set free the sins of people via Christ's suffering and death so that people could find salvation. Humans receive salvation as a gift from God via the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, not as a result of their own actions. Many individuals misunderstand salvation in this situation and believe that doing nice things will earn them salvation. The author's intention in creating this essay is to help believers understand that receiving salvation is not a result of our good acts, but rather a result of the grace that God has extended to us. However, believers must respond to this favor by believing and having faith in God. The author uses the literary approach to support this piece by gathering library data, precisely recording the findings of observations, and presenting the significant consequences of research into life experiences as a believer in writing. The author also engages with academic articles and additional sources.

Abstract

St. Athanasius of Alexandria was a Christian theologian and church father from the city of Alexandria. St. Athanasius stated that God manifested Himself in a human body through the incarnation so that His love and goodness could be a proof of salvation for mankind. St. Athanasius also said that the incarnation means that God took on fully human flesh and was present among mankind to show His power and save mankind from the power of sin. St. Athanasius also believed that Christ is the Son of God who came into the world by taking the body of an immaculate virgin, to reveal Himself to mankind. St. Athanasius' various statements make the author interested in answering that the incarnation of Jesus is one of God's actions to restore damaged human nature based on St. Athanasius' view. The method used in this research is a research method with a qualitative research approach and a literature study research type. The author collects and analyzes materials and sources in the form of books, journal articles, the Bible and other supporting sources related to the topic of this research. The author also presents the definition of God's love (saving man), the incarnation: making man return to God and Jesus Christ revealing Himself as the Son of God. The results of this study show that man's actions that violate God's commandments cause man to sin, separate from God and his nature becomes corrupted. Man could not save himself, so God, who is steadfast love, revealed and demonstrated His power by giving His only Son to incarnate and become like man to save all mankind from sin through His death and resurrection. Thus, the incarnation of Jesus was one of God's actions to restore the corrupted nature of mankind, in accordance with the view of St. Athanasius.

Abstract

It has long been understood that there is something peculiar, even paradoxical, about conservatism in America. For most Europeans who came to America, the whole purpose of their difficult and disruptive journey to the New World was not to conserve European institutions but to leave them behind and to create something new, often an entirely new life, and even a new identity, for themselves. Conservatives have been divided into: (1) those who are most concerned about economic or fiscal issues, that is, pro-business or “free-enterprise” conservatives; (2) those most concerned with religious or social issues, that is, pro-church or “traditional-values” conservatives; and (3) those most concerned with national-security or defense issues, that is, pro-military or “patriotic” conservatives. For a while, especially during the 1980s, it may have seemed that these three kinds of conservatives were natural allies, that they had an “elective affinity” for each other, and that there was no significant contradiction between them. In a pattern similar to that of economic conservatism, in Europe an established state church shaped religious and moral conditions. In America, particularly after the adoption of the U.S. Constitution, religious and moral conditions were instead shaped by the separation of church and state and even by religious pluralism. Following the 2016 presidential election of Donald Trump, many scholars have recognised the crucial role of Christian evangelical support for his triumphed victor. Here, we realize there is an interesting relation between faith and politics in the American voting system. the underlying arguments that we wish to portray in this article is: 1) that Trump facilitated more religious conservatives through a socially constructed approach, and 2) that this approach of conservatism has further led to the decline of U.S. social and political legitimacy due to the massive social issues that happened.
