Abstract

Critical thinking skills are an essential aspect that students must possess in order to face the challenges of 21st century learning, especially in science learning, which is complex and requires in-depth analysis. Observations at SMP Negeri 1 Tempuran show that students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. This condition is influenced by the implementation of a learning model that is not yet optimal and the dominance of the teacher's role in the learning process. An alternative solution that can be used is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, which places students at the center of learning by using contextual problems to trigger critical thinking. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the PBL model in improving the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning. The research method used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the non-equivalent control group type. The sample consisted of class VII G as the experimental class and class VII F as the control class. The instrument was an essay test consisting of 10 questions that had been validated and tested for reliability. The data were tested for normality and homogeneity, then hypothesis testing was conducted using an independent sample t-test and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the significance value was 0.011 < 0.05, and the N-Gain of the experimental class was 0.46 (moderate category), and that of the control class was 0.29 (low category). The conclusion of this study is that the PBL model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills in science learning in junior high school.

Abstract

This study aims to identify trends in research on the development of interactive computer-based physics learning media for high school students in 2020–2025. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a structured approach through searching for articles in the Google Scholar and Crossref databases using specific keywords. Out of a total of 2,129 articles found, 25 articles were deemed suitable for analysis based on criteria of relevance and focus on physics education. The findings indicate that the trend in the development of computer-based interactive learning media continues to rise, with a dominance of R&D and ADDIE development methods. The media developed generally aim to enhance conceptual understanding, learning outcomes, and critical thinking skills among students. The most frequently used physics topics in media development are linear motion, Newton's laws, and waves, with diverse development applications such as Adobe Flash, Canva, Articulate Storyline, and Google Sites. These findings indicate that the integration of computer technology in physics education can overcome limitations in understanding abstract concepts, improve the quality of the learning process, and serve as an important reference for the future development of interactive digital-based learning media. Abstract

This literature study aims to examine trends in research on the development of ethnoscience-based student worksheets through a literature study of relevant articles. Data collected from articles obtained through the PRISMA-based SLR method were analysed based on year of publication, university origin, education level, research model, learning model, ethnoscience context, and worksheet format. The results of the study show that the trend of research on the development of ethnoscience-based worksheets in the field of physics in the period 2020-2025 experienced a significant increase in 2024 with four articles published this year. Senior high school is the educational level that has been the focus of most research, while the ADDIE research development model is the most frequently used model (used in four articles). Interestingly, there is no dominant learning model associated with the development of ethnoscience-based worksheets in physics, which demonstrates the flexibility of the pedagogical approach. The most frequently used ethnoscience context is traditional musical instruments to explain sound wave material. In terms of worksheet format, development is still dominated by print formats (7 studies). In addition, the potential for exploring ethnoscience from various regions is still very large because no region dominantly explores ethnoscience in the reviewed physics worksheet development articles. The implications of this study highlight the need for further exploration at education levels other than senior high school, the development of digital worksheets, and the exploration of ethnoscience contexts from various regions to enrich physics learning that is more contextual and relevant to students.

Abstract

This study aims to develop E-LKPD based on Socio Scientific Issue (SSI) on Thermochemistry material as an effort to improve students' science literacy skills and environmental care. The background of this research is based on the low science literacy of students, the lack of use of innovative teaching materials that link science with social issues, and the low concern of students for the environment. The method used is development research (Research and Development) with the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. E-LKPD products were developed using Canva and Flip PDF Corporation 2025 applications, and validated by material experts and media experts. The validation results showed that the E-LKPD was in a very valid category, with a validity percentage of 91.22% by material experts and 92.22% by media experts. Small-scale trials were conducted in 3 schools, namely Cendana Pekanbaru High School, Alhuda Pekanbaru High School and Seri Rama Pekanbaru High School. The average percentage of teacher responses was 90.3 and the average percentage of student responses was 90.1. The large-scale trial was conducted at SMA Cendana Pekanbaru. The results of the trial showed that the E-LKPD was practical and effective in learning. The effectiveness of E-LKPD is seen from the significant increase in science literacy and environmental care of students, shown through t-test and the acquisition of N-Gain Score of 0.78 for science literacy and 0.81 for environmental care. Thus, the development of SSI-based E-LKPD is proven to be valid, practical, and effective in improving the science literacy skills and environmental care attitudes of students on Thermochemistry material.
