Abstract

This article aims to explain the concept of repentance according to Imam al-Ghazali. The method used is library research with a descriptive-analytical approach to al-Ghazali's works, especially in the field of Sufism and Islamic ethics. The results of the study show that according to al-Ghazali, repentance is a spiritual process consisting of three main elements: knowledge of sin, deep repentance, and a strong determination not to repeat mistakes. True repentance must be accompanied by a change of behavior and a sincerity of heart in returning to the way of God. For al-Ghazali, repentance not only serves as a cleanser for sins, but also as a means of purifying the soul and forming a pious personality. This concept reflects the depth of Islamic spirituality that emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and sustainable moral development.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the strategies carried out by madrasah heads in improving the quality of education. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was collected through in-depth interviews with key informants of teachers, principals and guardians. The results of the study showed that the head of the madrasah implemented a routine supervision strategy, evaluative meetings, and systematic pedagogical coaching. This strategy is supported by the provision of symbolic incentives and the formation of a work culture that is psychosocially conducive. However, the resistance of some teachers to change is the main challenge in the optimal implementation of the strategy. These findings indicate that top-down leadership models need to be supported by the internalization of teachers' professional awareness as well as stronger institutional support. This research emphasizes that improving the quality of education in village madrassas requires transformative leadership that is able to integrate strategic planning, collective participation, and continuous coaching in one place.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of efforts made by schools and teachers in improving students' ability to read the Qur'an in accordance with the rules of tajwid. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, where primary data is collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 36 students and strengthened by the results of interviews with teachers and principals. The test results showed that most of the students had good ability to read the Quran, and the questionnaire instruments used had met the validity and reliability requirements with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.88. These findings show that the improvement of the ability to read the Qur'an correctly according to tajweed is influenced by the synergy between teachers, students, and school support. In addition, school principals also play a role through the addition of additional tutoring programs and the improvement of learning facilities and infrastructure that support Qur'anic literacy activities.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Learning as the main subject in madrasas, which is not fully owned by public schools, can be applied in real life in the formation of students' morals. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with key informants, namely PAI teachers, principals, and students, and analyzed through the data triangulation stage. The results of the study show that PAI learning is not only theoretical, but also applied in the form of worship and socio-religious practices. The habit of reading and memorizing the Qur'an is the main means. Thus, the implementation of PAI learning in madrassas is able to have a real influence on the formation of students' morals holistically, making madrasas a space for character education based on strong Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role and support of parents in instilling Islamic religious education from an early age. The research method used is quantitative with research instruments using the Likert scale. The sample used consisted of 100 children aged 5 to 10 years from Paya Bomban Hamlet, Pasir Tuntung Village, South Labuhan Batu Regency. This research is estimated to take place from February to June 2024. The results of the study show that the success of parents in instilling Islamic religious education in children is inseparable from the role and responsibility of parents at home. In addition to being the first madrasah for children, parents also play a role in directing children to learn Islam more deeply through education in madrasah schools, while maintaining an environment that supports Islamic religious learning. Therefore, the synergy between parental support and educational institutions is an important factor in instilling Islamic religious education in children from an early age.
