Abstract

Maritime service companies have a high risk of accidents due to the workplace environment at sea. To create a safe work environment, the company can implement a safety culture, which is assumed to be supported by workers' self-awareness to improve the company's Safety Performance. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Safety Culture on Safety Performance with moderation of Self Awareness. This study used purposive sampling with a sample size of one hundred and four organic employees who worked for at least one year at the company. This research uses a quantitative approach. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a Likert scale. Validity and reliability tests were carried out to test the instrument. Hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis methods and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) using SPSS version 22. The results showed that safety culture positively and significantly affects safety performance. Self-awareness does not have a positive and significant effect on safety performance and cannot moderate the effect of safety culture on safety performance on safety performance. This means that the better the implementation of the Safety Culture, the risk of work accidents in the company will decrease, so the company's Safety Performance will also increase.

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the cost of commodities produced through the use of activity-based costing versus full costing techniques. One of the micro, small, and medium-sized businesses involved in organic quail egg farming is Organik Quail Farm. Organik Quail Farm has never used the whole costing approach, often known as ABC, to determine the cost of commodities produced since its founding. This study, which compares an explanatory study with a comparison study, is descriptive quantitative research. Three methods are utilized to acquire data: documentation, interviews, and observation. The study's findings show that employing the ABC technique of calculation resultsed in greater production costs than complete costing method calculation. Production costs using the complete costing technique come to Rp. 26,940,908. With 1260 trays produced in a single production utilizing the complete costing approach, the production cost is Rp. 26,940,908; this works out to Rp. 21,328 per tray. In contrast, the activity-based costing method yields production costs of Rp. 26.409.281 for a single production cycle that produces 1260 trays; this method's cost of production is Rp. 20,960 per tray. The cost of items produced per tray employing this method is Rp 20,960. One manufacturing cycle produces 1260 trays. The results obtained using the comprehensive costing approach are Rp 422 larger than those obtained with the activity-based costing method, which is 0.019% smaller.

Abstract

In the face of volatile market demand, the shipbuilding industry must focus on enhancing its growth and productivity to ensure its survival, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic. The ETO business model adopted by Indonesian shipyards is complex and vulnerable, necessitating a clear understanding of customer requirements within the ship construction and repair services market. Moreover, addressing the dynamic risks present in the maritime supply chain is crucial. Identifying effective mitigation strategies requires shipyards to understand the common threats they face comprehensively. To facilitate this, this study employs the House of Quality (HOQ) tool within the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology to analyse the needs of customers and maritime supply chain risks in the shipbuilding sector, aiming to secure their sustainability over the long term.

Abstract

Increasing the number of ships that operate at a certain track is one way to support overall company’s performance. With the result business management should consider the balance of transportation service demand. Since the ship procurement was delayed and the long-distance ferry services adding up for Lombok, the feasibility profile need to be reconsidered. The case that one ship will be rejuvenated while the other ship already reaches the operational life. Besides, the increased demand on Lembar-Padangbai track is an opportunity to develop the company. Using 7 years of production historical data, technical data of 77.72 m of overall length roro vessel, the consumption cost, operational parameters, and also investment parameters, and 65.51 on load factors (LF), the study shows optimistic financial feasibility results. IRR value 15.97% and this value is higher than the Weighted average cost of capital (WACC) 9.83% and payback-period is 12 years for 20 years of operational life. Sensitivity analysis shows that the higher self-financing percentage gives a better financial feasibility value.

Abstract

The company providing loading and unloading services in Surabaya is a company that handles the loading and unloading of special domestic containers and the process is carried out at the terminal as an operational dock. With the current conditions, one of the port equipment facilities located at the Container Yard (CY) terminal and actively functioning is the Rubber Tyred Gantry (RTG) which consists of 9 tools, 2 of which are Battery RTGs, especially the TTB 13 Battery RTGs which were only used last month. April 2023. However, when this tool was used, potential risks were found in the tool performance data and the failure to achieve production performance in terminal operations in the period April-December 2023. So this research analyzes these risks using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method in determining priorities risk and then determine proposed risk management strategies. The results of the research are based on the risk indicator with the highest RPN value, namely the spreader is easier to shake, has a value of 153.56 and risk management strategies is the proposed Human Resources management strategy must adapt more quickly to new tools through training and familiarization programs. So, the TTB 13 Battery RTG tool can work optimally and achieve the targets set by the company.

Abstract

Ships play a crucial role in transportation in Indonesia, especially cargo ships that facilitate the distribution of goods between islands as well as imports and exports. The maintenance and repair process of ships is key to enhancing the performance and quality of shipping. Time is a critical factor in ship repair projects, measured by the timely completion of contracts. Proper project planning based on field conditions is essential to avoid problems. Analyzing project delays and applying methods such as Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) are necessary to improve project management efficiency, particularly in the repair of the SPOB Messi Kianna 1 vessel at PT. Dumas Tanjung Perak Shipyards. The researcher's goal in choosing this topic is to identify the factors causing delays in ship repair work. The probability values for each delay factor using the FTA method show that the preparation work has a probability of 0.00733.
