Abstract

This community service program titled "Building Entrepreneurial Spirit in Students Through Islamic Economic Literacy" was held on May 24, 2025, in Semarang under the Sharia Young Leader BSI Maslahat initiative. It aimed to empower underprivileged university students by integrating Islamic economic knowledge with personal motivation and spiritual development. The program applied a fun-learning approach to deliver modules on barakah (blessing), Islamic work ethics, fiqh muamalah, and Sharia-compliant contracts (akad), as well as motivational training based on the ESQ Matrix. A total of 51 participants underwent both pre- and post-tests, showing a significant knowledge increase from an average score of 62.39 to 84.58. Feedback indicated high satisfaction, with average scores above 5.7 out of 6 for both content and trainer performance. Participants appreciated the relevance and applicability of the material and suggested enhancements such as more interactive sessions and follow-up resources. The program successfully contributed to students’ understanding of ethical entrepreneurship and Islamic economic principles, supporting their role as future contributors to the Sharia economic ecosystem in Indonesia.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to enhance the inventory management skills of santri at Pesantren Assyifa through the use of spreadsheet technology. Many pesantren-based business units still rely on manual inventory methods, leading to inefficiencies, stock errors, and operational delays. To address this issue, a structured training program was conducted involving 25 selected santri actively engaged in the pesantren’s economic units. The program consisted of three interactive sessions covering basic inventory concepts, spreadsheet functions, and hands-on design of inventory tracking systems. Using tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, participants were guided to create real-time stock records, calculate inventory movement, and generate reports. The success of the training was measured through pre- and post-tests, spreadsheet project submissions, and participant feedback surveys. The results showed a 68% average increase in test scores, a 96% project completion rate, and a 4.6/5 satisfaction score. Additionally, 84% of participants applied the system directly within pesantren business units. Feedback from participants indicated high engagement, practical usefulness, and a strong desire for follow-up training. This initiative demonstrated the effectiveness of integrating digital tools into pesantren education, contributing to the development of digitally literate and economically empowered santri.

Abstract

This community service program was carried out to enhance the physical, emotional, and spiritual resilience of students (santri) at Pesantren Assyifa through integrated self-defense training. Recognizing the increasing psychological and social challenges faced by adolescents in pesantren, this program combined martial arts education with Islamic character development. Over the course of eight weeks, 36 santri participated in bi-weekly training sessions that included basic self-defense techniques, leadership drills, and reflective discussions on prophetic values such as patience (ṣabr), courage, and self-control. The program successfully improved student discipline, confidence, and peer cooperation, as measured through pre- and post-assessments and observational rubrics. Participants reported greater self-awareness and felt more empowered to respond to threats both physically and ethically. The pesantren administration expressed strong interest in continuing the initiative as part of the formal extracurricular curriculum. This activity not only strengthened the personal capabilities of santri but also aligned with the broader goal of fostering holistic Islamic education that nurtures the body, mind, and soul. The combination of physical practice and moral reflection proved to be a sustainable and transformative approach to santri empowerment.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to enhance Qur’anic memorization skills among santri at Pesantren Assyifa by integrating effective cognitive-based learning methods with traditional Islamic pedagogical practices. Conducted over eight weeks, the program involved initial assessments, teacher training, student workshops, practical memorization sessions, and structured evaluations. Modern memorization techniques—such as mnemonic devices, visualization, spaced repetition, and active recall—were introduced and practiced alongside classical methods like talaqqi and tikrar. The program targeted more than 40 santri and involved tahfiz teachers as active facilitators. Quantitative and qualitative assessments demonstrated notable improvement in memorization retention, engagement, and confidence. By the end of the program, over 85% of participants achieved measurable progress in both speed and accuracy of memorization. Feedback from students and teachers highlighted the usefulness and motivational impact of the techniques introduced. This program not only provided a fresh approach to Qur’anic learning but also offered sustainable strategies for long-term application within the pesantren. The success of the initiative supports the importance of combining Islamic values with contemporary educational insights to produce holistic and effective learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Hybrid Magnet Rezeki Seminar, conducted in February 2025 in Bukit Raya District, represents a faith-based community empowerment initiative focused on enhancing individuals’ self-capacity through spiritual and practical development. Anchored in the broader framework of the Magnet Rezeki Outreach Program, this initiative introduced participants to core principles such as Disiplin Kata (Word Discipline), Law of Projection (LOP), and Perisai Rezeki (Wealth Shield). Implemented through an interactive and reflective learning model, the seminar engaged 28 participants with the support of Certified Trainers of Magnet Rezeki (CTMR). Pre- and post-test evaluations revealed significant improvements in participants’ comprehension and mindset regarding spiritual empowerment and ethical financial behavior. The program's outcomes demonstrated its alignment with national objectives in sustainable human resource development, particularly in the integration of Islamic values into practical life skills. This study underscores the potential of hybrid-format, faith-driven seminars to foster lasting personal growth and community resilience. Furthermore, it opens pathways for replicating similar models in other local contexts to advance spiritually grounded economic empowerment.

Abstract

This community engagement program aims to strengthen the economic capacity of community groups in Azerbaijan through an integrated model combining artificial intelligence (AI)–supported learning, digital skills enhancement, and practical economic training. Although Azerbaijan has demonstrated rapid digital progress, micro-entrepreneurs still face challenges related to limited digital literacy, insufficient financial planning capabilities, and the absence of structured mentorship that integrates emerging technologies. This program utilizes a participatory development approach involving baseline assessment, AI-driven training modules, intensive workshops, and mentoring over two months. A total of 45 participants from three community clusters were included. Quantitative findings reveal a 63% increase in digital literacy scores and a 67% adoption rate of AI-supported tools for marketing and financial planning. Qualitative insights show improved confidence in business decision-making, better understanding of market dynamics, and enhanced practical skills in budgeting and content creation. Participants also reported early indicators of improved sales performance and customer engagement. The integration of AI tools into community-based capacity-building initiatives demonstrates high effectiveness in accelerating digital readiness and entrepreneurial resilience. The program concludes that structured AI-based interventions can significantly empower grassroots communities in emerging economies. Limitations include the small sample size and short mentoring duration. Future research should explore larger populations and long-term economic outcomes.

Abstract

This community engagement program aims to strengthen collaborative governance and social advocacy in Erbil through a data-driven approach that empowers both public institutions and local communities. The initiative responds to the growing need for evidence-based decision-making, particularly in urban areas where socio-economic disparities, limited data literacy, and fragmented public–community communication hinder sustainable development efforts. Using participatory mapping, digital data collection, and community workshops, the program integrates statistical tools and informatics-based solutions to support transparent governance practices. Activities include capacity-building sessions, community needs assessments, data visualization training, and stakeholder forums designed to enhance cooperative problem-solving. Findings show that community members developed increased awareness of data-based decision processes, while local institutions improved their ability to integrate citizen input into planning. Participant feedback confirms higher trust levels, better communication pathways, and enhanced motivation to co-design development initiatives. The program demonstrates that data-driven social advocacy can strengthen relational accountability and foster long-term collaborations between stakeholders. This model offers a scalable and adaptable framework for cities in the Kurdistan Region seeking to implement more inclusive and sustainable governance strategies. Overall, the program contributes to the advancement of participatory governance by embedding statistical literacy and digital tools into community-centered development processes.

Abstract

This community-based program aims to strengthen the economic resilience of marginalized groups in Pakistan through a social entrepreneurship model that promotes inclusion, innovation, and long-term sustainable growth. The initiative responds to persistent socio-economic inequalities that limit opportunities for low-income populations, particularly women, youth, and rural communities. By integrating entrepreneurial training, financial literacy education, and community-based business incubation, the program equips participants with the skills needed to initiate and sustain micro-enterprises. The model emphasizes the use of local resources, socially responsible business practices, and community-led decision-making to ensure contextual relevance. Data collected through baseline assessments, participatory workshops, and post-program evaluations show significant improvement in participants’ entrepreneurial competencies, confidence, and engagement in local economic activities. Government officials, NGOs, and private-sector partners reported increased trust and willingness to collaborate with trained communities. Feedback from participants highlights enhanced motivation, improved financial knowledge, and stronger social networks. Overall, the program demonstrates that social entrepreneurship can be a powerful mechanism for inclusive economic development when combined with capacity building, community mobilization, and strategic partnerships. Findings offer insights for policymakers and academic researchers seeking scalable models to address marginalization and promote sustainable growth in Pakistan’s diverse socio-economic landscape.
