Abstract

An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is designed to detect suspicious activities or security threats within a network, necessitating continuous advancements in the field. Both implementation techniques and algorithmic research play pivotal roles in enhancing IDS capabilities. This study addresses this need by focusing on the implementation and comparison of two prominent classification models: Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The study is centered within the domain of Intrusion Detection System (IDS) tailored for network security. In the course of this research, a relevant dataset sourced from Kaggle serves as the foundation for training and testing both classification models. The findings of this study underscore the models' efficacy in intrusion detection. The SVM model, in particular, emerges as a standout performer, showcasing an accuracy rate that approaches 100%, thus exemplifying its potential in real-world scenarios. Meanwhile, the Naive Bayes model delivers commendable accuracy, surpassing 88%. This investigation not only contributes to the advancement of intrusion detection methodologies but also highlights the viability of these classification models for bolstering network security against the ever-evolving threat landscape.

Abstract

An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is the method that is processed in the network layer of an IoT system. Machine learning techniques have been applied in the IDS and observed the higher performance in identifying the intrusion and malware. The existing method involved in IDS tends to be ineffective due to the drawbacks of big data, centralization, and low privacy. The existing method is also inefficient in handling the streaming data of IoT systems. Most of the method in the IDS has low efficiency in intrusion detection to increase the efficiency of the detection. In this research, the FPA is proposed in IoT intrusion detection to increase the efficiency of the detection.

Abstract

This study presents the development and application of a system utilizing the winnowing algorithm to evaluate the suitability of thesis titles based on their relevance to existing research. By generating fingerprint values from input titles and calculating similarity percentages using Jaccard’s Similarity Coefficient, the system provides a quantitative measure of title uniqueness and originality. In this study, the similarity between the proposed title and existing titles was determined to be 38.4%, indicating a low level of overlap and confirming the title’s appropriateness for academic research. The winnowing algorithm enhances the efficiency and accuracy of the title selection process, reducing the risk of redundancy and plagiarism while ensuring alignment with academic standards. This automated approach streamlines decision-making, enabling students to choose focused and high-quality thesis topics. The system’s ability to deliver precise similarity metrics supports academic integrity and promotes originality in research. Future research could explore the integration of advanced algorithms or machine learning to further improve the system’s performance and adaptability across diverse academic domains.

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of an expert system for determining the best camera recommendations for beginners, utilizing a web-based platform to deliver tailored results based on user input. The VIKOR method is employed to evaluate and rank camera products, ensuring optimal recommendations by balancing multiple criteria such as technical specifications, usability, and cost-effectiveness. Analysis of five camera products revealed that the Fujifilm X-A5 achieved the lowest VIKOR value of 0, indicating it as the top recommendation for beginners. The system's calculations were validated against manual computations, achieving a 100% accuracy rate, and thereby confirming the reliability of the expert system. The proposed system not only enhances decision-making efficiency but also significantly reduces the time required for experts to rank and evaluate multiple camera products. This approach demonstrates the potential of integrating multi-criteria decision-making methods into expert systems to provide accurate, user-centric recommendations in real time.

Abstract

This study presents the development and evaluation of a Decision Support System (DSS) designed to streamline the student selection process for dormitory administrators. The system leverages the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to evaluate applicants based on predefined criteria, including academic performance, financial need, and extracurricular involvement. Testing conducted on five applicants demonstrated a 100% accuracy rate, validating the system's effectiveness in identifying the most suitable candidates. The SAW method's ability to aggregate and normalize multiple criteria into a single quantitative score ensures a robust, transparent, and fair decision-making framework. This approach significantly enhances the precision of candidate selection while reducing manual effort and minimizing biases. The system's adaptability allows for the incorporation of additional criteria or adjustments to weighting schemes, ensuring its applicability across diverse institutional contexts. The successful implementation of this system underscores the value of integrating multi-criteria decision-making techniques into administrative workflows, offering a scalable and accountable solution for optimizing resource allocation in dormitory management.
