Abstract

This study aims to analyze the exegetical methodology (manhaj) employed by Muhammad Ali ash-Shabuni in his two monumental works, Shafwah al-Tafāsīr and Rawā’i al-Bayān. The research focuses on the methods, characteristics, and interpretive orientations that distinguish these two tafsirs, as well as their contribution to the development of contemporary Qur’anic studies. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through library research and content analysis of the primary tafsir texts. The findings show that Shafwah al-Tafāsīr is written using the tahlīlī method, combining tafsīr bi al-ma’tsūr (interpretation based on transmitted reports) and tafsīr bi al-ra’yi (interpretation based on rational reasoning). Its exegetical style is adabī ijtimā‘ī, emphasizing moral, social, and ethical messages to make the Qur’an more accessible to modern readers. Meanwhile, Rawā’i al-Bayān represents a fiqhī (legal) tafsir focused on āyāt al-aḥkām (legal verses) through a systematic process consisting of linguistic analysis, examination of asbāb al-nuzūl, comparative study of classical legal schools, and elaboration of ḥikmah al-tashrī‘ (philosophy of Islamic law). These two works demonstrate ash-Shabuni’s effort to bridge classical scholarship with contemporary needs, offering interpretations that are concise, academic, and relevant.

The school provides Qur’anic verse therapy to its students, who consist not only of typically developing children but also those with developmental disorders or specific conditions. This study focuses on two main points: First, how Qur’anic verse therapy is implemented for early childhood students. Second, the methods used in administering Qur’anic verse therapy to early childhood students. This research employs a qualitative field approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, with teachers and parents of PAUD IT Kebon Ilmu serving as informants. (2) The methods of Qur’anic verse therapy used at PAUD IT Kebon Ilmu include murottal therapy in all student activities, UMMI method Qur’an learning, special-needs (ABK) therapy—mostly conducted by the principal—and the Tabarak method implemented at noon while students wait to be picked up by their parents.

Abstract

This research aims to comprehensively examine the concept of I'jaz Al-Qur'an (the Miraculousness of the Qur'an) by analyzing its definition, various forms, and primary content, to affirm its status as the sole and eternal proof of the truth of the message of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The method employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing a library research approach, which involves content analysis of classical Ulumul Qur'an works and contemporary literature. The findings indicate that I'jaz is a multidimensional phenomenon that renders all human attempts to imitate the Qur'an incapable (a'jaza). The forms of I'jaz are classified into three main aspects: I'jaz al-Lughawi (linguistic), as the foundation of its miraculousness, which lies in its unparalleled nazhm (composition) and balaghah (eloquence); I'jaz at-Tasyri'i (legislative and moral), which guarantees the perfection and relevance of the Qur'an's universal and eternal laws; and I'jaz al-'Ilmi (scientific), which serves as a modern confirmation of its scientific allusions. It is concluded that the content of the Qur'an—comprising Aqidah (creed), Ibadah (worship), Muamalah (social transactions), and Akhlak (ethics)—is integrated, and its coherence is part of the miraculousness itself. Overall, I'jaz Al-Qur'an is an integration of the beauty of form (language), the perfection of function (law), and the truth of content (scientific), making it a miracle that continues to speak to the mind and heart in every era
