Abstract

The current study aimed to isolate and diagnose S. aureus, test its antibiotic susceptibility, and detect some virulence factors. 150 Clinical samples were collected from Kirkuk Hospital in Kirkuk city for the period from December 2023 to March 2024 from patients who were admitted and hospitalized after consulting the specialist doctor and referring him to the laboratory. Colonies of S. aureus were diagnosed based on the culturing characteristics of the colonies growing on mannitol salt agar medium and blood agar media and incubated at 37 0C for 24 hrs. The results showed that 47 (31.3%) of the samples showed bacterial growth. On the other hand, the results showed that S. aureus was highly resistant to Benzylpenicillin (81.8%), while it was very sensitive to both Nitrofurantion and Gentamicin (90.9%). A DNase test was conducted for clinical isolates of S. aureus, which were isolated from burns and wounds, and the results were 100% in terms of the susceptibility of S. aureus isolates to DNase results. The ability of 47 isolates of S. aureus to produce hemolysin was tested by culturing the bacteria on blood agar medium. The ratios of S. aureus isolates to haemolysin production varied, as evidenced by the data, with 39 (82.98%) isolates exhibiting complete hemolysis. It is concluded from the current study that S. aureus that was isolated from wounds was highly resistant to antibiotics and had dangerous harmful factors that increased the bacterial level in infections.

Abstract

Pregnancy brings changes to a woman's body, including in the digestive system which can cause nausea and vomiting, which generally occurs in the first trimester. Morning sickness is a common complaint in pregnancy, but there are also more severe conditions, such as hyperemesis gravidarum. Treatment for nausea and vomiting can be done with pharmacological or non-pharmacological therapy. Ginger, with its antiemetic properties, is a popular choice. Ginger candy is an effective way to consume ginger to reduce nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. Ginger steeping has also been proven effective in reducing symptoms of nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. This study aims to analyze the effect of giving ginger candy on nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. This research is a national literature review that was searched using Google Scholar with the keywords "nausea, vomiting", "ginger candy", and "pregnant women". Next, 5 national articles were selected. From all the articles it is known that there is an effect of ginger candy on reducing the level of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women.

Abstract

Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English. Describe the introduction, the purpose of writting, research methods, result and conclusion. Minimum 150 and maximum 250 words.. Psoriasis is a multisystem inflammatory disease with predominantly skin and joint involvement. Beyond the physical dimensions of disease, psoriasis has an extensive emotional and psychosocial effect on patients, affecting social functioning and interpersonal relationships. As a disease of systemic inflammation, psoriasis is associated with multiple comorbidities, including cardiovascular disease and malignancy. The diagnosis is primarily clinical and a skin biopsy is seldom required. Depending on the severity of disease, appropriate treatment can be initiated. For mild to moderate disease, first-line treatment involves topical therapies including corticosteroids, vitamin D3 analogues, and combination products. These topical treatments are efficacious and can be safely initiated and prescribed by primary care physicians. Patients with more severe and refractory symptoms might require further evaluation by a dermatologist for systemic therapy .Psoriasis is a chronic, noncommunicable, painful, disfiguring and disabling disease for which there is no cure and with great negative impact on patients’ quality of life . It can occur at any age. The etiology of psoriasis remains unclear. Psoriasis can also be provoked by external and internal triggers, including mild trauma, sunburn, infections, systemic drugs and stress . Psoriasis involves the skin and nails, and is associated with a number of comorbidities. Skin lesions are localized or generalized, mostly symmetrical, sharply demarcated, red papules and plaques, and usually covered with white or silver scales. Lesions cause itching, stinging and pain. Individuals with psoriasis are reported to be at increased risk of developing other serious clinical conditions such as cardiovascular and other noncommunicable diseases . Psoriasis causes great physical, emotional and social burden . Disfiguration, disability and marked loss of productivity are common challenges for people with psoriasis. Topical and systemic therapies as well as phototherapy are available.

Abstract

Myocardial infarction is a dangerous disease that causes irreversible changes in the heart. The disease mainly occurs in people over 50 years of age. According to statistics, in general, about 60% of people over the age of 65 have experienced a heart attack. However, younger people are also at risk of the disease. Assess the true natural history of acute myocardial infarction is difficult for a number of reasons: the possibility of hidden infarction, the high frequency of acute coronary death outside the hospital and the difference methods for diagnosing this condition.

Abstract

P. mirabilis bacteria have a significant role in causing urinary tract infection which can be defined as the inflammatory response of urothelium to bacterial invasion, which is usually associated with bacteriuria and pyuria. According to the suggestion that Proteus microbes could possibly be involved in the etiopathogenesis. Proteus mirabilis was the commonest bacteria isolated in this study 15 (51% ) followed by E. coli in 6 ( 20.4 ), Klibsiella spp.5 (17%) and Staphylococcus saprophiticus 3 (10.3%). All isolates of P. mirabilis appeared highest rate of resistance (100%) in the case of Cefotaxime, Amoxicillin, Ampicillin. And moderately resistance to Netilmicin (71.4% ). All isolates presented high sensitivity (100%) to Meropenem, Levofloxacin, and Ciprofloxacin. All isolates15 (100%) appeared the presence of urease and hemolysine genes by using PCR technique

Abstract

The right to use alcoholic materials excessively, such as 75% ethanol concentration, which is produced locally by several companies, and the use of these materials as sterilizing agents to get rid of certain kinds of viruses or microorganisms, as happened recently due to the Corona virus outbreak, have resulted in an increase in resistance. This study, which involved bleaching a number of yeast species, including Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida krusei, Candida tropicalis, Rhodotorula, and Aspergillus flavus, revealed the emergence of high resistance by those yeasts and fungi to the alcohols used EtOH, surgical, joonandjood, which was caused by certain types of microorganisms, including fungi and yeasts, and the emergence of resistant strains, particularly those that accompanied skin infections or nail injuries. This might be the result of patients' overuse of alcohol and the resistant strains that followed it

Abstract

Through the patient samples that we obtained from Al-Zahraa Teaching Hospital, some of them were suffering from high rates (a very critical condition), which led to death for some patients, while others were suffering from low rates. Over time, with treatment, their conditions became stable and they were discharged from the hospital. Some Some of them are in critical condition and may take a long time to recover, and this is what was written in the patient records (patient charts) in the hospital. All of these cases and percentages were identified and diagnosed by an electrocardiogram (ECG) device. Cardiovascular diseases were also discussed in detail in In the first chapter, the ECG device is a painless method that helps in diagnosing many common heart problems in the second chapter. In the third chapter, the devices used in measuring (ECG) were discussed, and it was learned how to conduct a medical examination for the patient, the steps of the examination, the reasons for performing the examination, and the uses of the examination. Electrocardiography, the risks of conducting the examination, the type of medical examination for males and females, and its unit of measurement. In the fourth chapter, we discussed the samples obtained from Al-Zahraa Teaching Hospital, explaining each one of them, and comparing them with the healthy sample from a healthy heart
