Abstract

Alpha-amylase is considered to be one of the primary enzymes responsible for starch degradation in cereals. During grain germination, α-amylase initiates the conversion of starch into simple sugars to fuel embryo and coleoptile growth in the first few days of germination. The present study involves the estimation of Alpha amylase content in four different grains varieties, namely, wheat grain and barley up to 8 days after germination. It was observed that, alpha amylase content steadily increased, and found to be saturated after reaching the peak values. In all the samples, the peak values were observed in 7th day of germination. The enzymatic assay were done by estimation of maltose content by Spectrophotometry as starch degraded to maltose by alpha amylase enzyme.

Abstract

This study deals with Isolation of bacteria causing dental caries from the Forty samples (male and female) were collected from patients attending the clinics of the Department of Dentistry at Bilad Al-Rafidayn University College for the period 7/11/2022 to 4/5/2023. The total of (58) isolates before and after cleaning and tooth extraction collected from male and female samples .After diagnosing these isolates, it was found that. Streptococcus (42.5%) and gram-negative (20%) before dental work and cleaning . The Percentage of Streptococcus after cleaning (30%) and the gram-negative rod (7.5%). The percentage of Streptococcus isolated from tooth extraction (20%) and staphylococcus (2.5%) and gram-negative rod(2.5%). The spacemen were collected from the oral cavity and the culture was on mitis salivarius(Himedia/India) agar base, that was determined by biochemical tests by use of blood agar to detect hemolysis, the results revealed the samples were positive.

Abstract

The current study aimed to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites among children from newborns to ten years of age in different areas affiliated with the Shatra district in Dhi Qar Governorate in southern Iraq, as these areas suffer from poor health and living services in addition to a lack of awareness and interest in personal and health hygiene. The study was designed by taking 100 A random sample from different areas. The results were 25% of healthy children, while 75% were infected. The widespread infections were with the parasites Giardia lamblia and Entamoeba histolytica. The results confirmed that most of the infected children were between two and four years of age, in addition to the fact that the most common infections were the combined infections of the Entamoeba parasite and Giardia for the same infected people, with a very high rate of up to 56%, while the infection of children with the Entamoeba parasite alone was 18.7% and Giardia alone was 25.3% in addition. The percentage of females is 65% while the percentage of males is 35% in parasitic infections and The infection rate in the countryside was higher than the infection rate in cities, as the infection rate in the countryside was (55%) and in the cities (45%).

This study examined the immunological condition of cattle infected with spontaneous leukosis. Specifically, it compared the levels of immunoglobulins in cattle infected with leukosis viruses from three different genera to those in healthy cattle. Abstract

Genome engineering, epigenome editing, as one of the prominent research techniques, has also become instrumental in discovering the gene expression regulation mechanisms and exploring their physiological correlates in health and pathology. This review summarizes the state-of-the-art CRISPR-Cas strategies that focus on epigenetics modification and projects its utility in molecular physiology of gene regulation. In this course we will delve into how CRISPR-Cas systems interact with epigenetic signals through DNA methylation, histone modifications and accessibility to chromatin. Then we look at the physiological effects of epigenetic modulations in cellular differentiation and development, cellular signal and homeostasis, disease pathogenesis, and therapeutic for application. Issues and perspectives on how epigenome manipulations can revolutionize therapeutics are also emphasized exploring the potential of precision medicine and individualized therapies. Overall, the review stresses the pivotal role of epigenetic modulation in the development of our understanding of gene expressions/mediation and cellular physiology. It also provides some inputs on the potential directions that the field of genetic engineering might take in the future.
