Kusuma: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (E-ISSN 3089-2805) is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Institut Agama Islam Pangeran Dharma Kusuma Indramayu. It is at the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. This journal publication aims to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in community services. Kusuma: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat contains various activities from diverse groups of people in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges and problems that exist in the society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the professionalism of teachers in improving students’ learning motivation at MTs. Al-Mahrusiyyah Lirboyo Kediri. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that teacher professionalism is reflected in four main competencies: pedagogical, personal, social, and professional. These competencies significantly contribute to enhancing students’ learning motivation. Teachers at MTs. Al-Mahrusiyyah implement varied learning strategies, emphasize a humanistic approach, and create participatory and meaningful learning environments. Field data show that teachers’ skills in building empathetic communication and providing positive reinforcement play a crucial role in sustaining students’ enthusiasm. This study concludes that improving teacher professionalism directly impacts the quality of instruction and students’ motivation, particularly in a pesantren-based educational setting.
