This journal publication aims to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in community services. Kusuma: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat contains various activities from diverse groups of people in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges and problems that exist in the society. Implementation of service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society.

Abstract

The counseling and demonstration activities on the preparation of Moringa leaf porridge successfully enhanced the knowledge of the community, particularly mothers in Wawobeau Village, about the importance of nutrition in preventing stunting in children. Through the education provided, participants understood the nutritional benefits of Moringa leaves and how they can be processed into nutritious food. The participants’ enthusiasm during the event demonstrated a high awareness of the importance of proper nutrition for children. This activity is expected to encourage the community to utilize local resources, such as Moringa leaves, to improve children's health and growth, and reduce the risk of stunting in the area. It also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the posyandu cadres and the community in raising awareness about child nutrition and health. Although the activity was successful, there were some challenges in its implementation and preparation, including difficulties faced by some respondents in identifying basic knowledge related to the material presented. This indicates the need for further evaluation of how information is conveyed to ensure better understanding by all participants. Additionally, the low attendance was partly due to scheduling conflicts and other commitments, preventing some invited members of the community from attending. For future research, it is recommended to provide the material periodically and in an easily understandable format, as well as to invite a larger number of participants.

Abstract

This community service program, a 30-day Internship (PKL), focused on educating and training members of KUD Mina Asri Junti in fisheries product diversification to enhance added value. The program involved needs assessment, module development covering processing techniques (frozen fillet, dried products, ready-to-eat), food safety, packaging, and basic marketing. Participatory training methods, including demonstrations and hands-on practice, were employed. Evaluation showed increased knowledge and skills among participants and the emergence of product diversification initiatives. However, challenges like limited capital and the need for ongoing support were identified. The program successfully initiated a positive change, laying the groundwork for sustainable fisheries product diversification in the community.

Abstract

This community-driven initiative, "Re-greening My Village: A Collaborative Effort to Enhance Environmental Quality in Pagedangan Village, Tukdana, Indramayu," addresses the pressing need for environmental improvement through collaborative reforestation and greening efforts. Recognizing the environmental challenges faced by Pagedangan, this project engaged residents, local authorities, and relevant stakeholders in a participatory approach to enhance the village's environmental quality. Activities included the selection of appropriate native plant species, community planting drives, educational workshops on environmental stewardship, and the establishment of monitoring mechanisms for long-term sustainability. The project aimed to increase green cover, improve air and soil quality, enhance biodiversity, and foster a sense of environmental responsibility among villagers. The success of this collaborative endeavor highlights the potential of community-led initiatives in addressing environmental degradation and promoting a healthier, more sustainable living environment in Pagedangan Village.

Abstract

This 30-day Community Service Program through Field Work Practice (PKL) by IAI Padhaku students in Indramayu aimed to enhance public legal awareness regarding court procedures at the Religious Court. Through socialization based on PKL experience, students directly interacted with the community, identified legal issues faced, and provided comprehensive understanding of the litigation flow and requirements. Activities included outreach, interactive discussions, and distribution of informative materials tailored to the local community's needs. The results of this service demonstrated an increased public understanding of religious court proceedings, which is expected to reduce potential legal problems and improve access to justice. This program also provided valuable experience for students in practically applying legal knowledge and contributing to community empowerment.

Abstract

This 30-day Community Service Program through Field Work Practice (PKL) by IAI Padhaku Indramayu students focused on strengthening networking and collaboration among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) in Indramayu Regency. Through the facilitation of PKL students placed at the Indramayu Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises, Trade, and Industry Office (Diskoperindag), this program aimed to identify collaboration potentials, facilitate meetings between UMKM actors, and develop networking platforms. Activities included UMKM mapping, collaboration needs analysis, organizing discussion forums, and assisting in the formation of partnerships. The results of this service indicated an increased awareness of the importance of collaboration and the formation of several collaborative initiatives among UMKM. This program also provided practical experience for students in facilitating local economic development and building networks with stakeholders.

Abstract

Pagedangan Village in Indramayu Regency, West Java, possesses significant natural and socio-cultural capital, including fertile agricultural land and strong community solidarity, offering a promising foundation for community development initiatives like the Community Service Program (KKN). However, this potential is threatened by social challenges, notably the pressing issue of bullying among elementary school children. This abstract highlights the existing potential of Pagedangan Village while underscoring the critical urgency of addressing bullying. Bullying can have severe and long-lasting negative impacts on the psychological and social development of children, hindering their well-being and future potential. Recognizing the detrimental effects on victims, perpetrators, and witnesses, a focused intervention is essential to create a safe and supportive environment for learning and growth. Leveraging the village's inherent strengths through collaborative efforts involving students, educators, parents, and community leaders is crucial for developing effective strategies to prevent and address bullying, thereby ensuring the holistic development of Pagedangan's young generation and maximizing its inherent potential.

Abstract

This community service program, "Rodent Pest Eradication in Farmers' Agricultural Fields," was designed and implemented as a potential and strategic focus for the Community Service Program (KKN) in Pagedangan Village, Tukdana Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency, West Java. Recognizing the significant agricultural landscape of the region and the detrimental impact of rodent pests on crop yields and farmers' livelihoods, this KKN initiative aimed to empower the community with sustainable solutions. The program involved a comprehensive situation analysis, educational workshops on rodent biology and integrated pest management, practical training on constructing and utilizing eco-friendly traps, and the establishment of farmer groups for collaborative action. Furthermore, it fostered partnerships with local agricultural agencies and explored environmentally sound pest control methods. The expected outcomes include increased farmer knowledge, adoption of effective pest management techniques, a reduction in rodent populations, improved crop productivity, and enhanced community resilience towards agricultural challenges. This KKN model demonstrates the potential of student engagement in addressing critical agricultural issues at the grassroots level, contributing to food security and rural development.

Abstract

Fairness in access to public services is one of the important indicators in realizing social welfare. In various regions, especially remote or underdeveloped areas, there is still inequality in access to basic services such as health, education, and government administration. This study aims to examine fairness in access to services in the regions through a philosophy of science approach that includes aspects of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, and is reviewed from the perspective of hadith science. In the perspective of hadith science, many narrations emphasize the importance of leaders being fair to their people, including in the distribution of services. The hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW which states that "Each of you is a leader, and every leader will be held accountable for his leadership" is a strong moral foundation in the context of equal distribution of services. This study concludes that the realization of justice in public services requires integration between scientific approaches, state ethics, and prophetic values reflected in Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The law enforcement process is a continuous activity carried out by the apparatus (officers) according to the needs of the law, where law enforcement must be fair and impartial. The issue of law enforcement in Indonesia is a complex issue, where one is very closely related to another. The 1945 Constitution states that the Republic of Indonesia is a state of law, not a state of power. Defendant KSY, S.E. BIN GANI on Sunday, January 27, 2002 at approximately 10:00 WIB or at least at a certain time in January 2002, located in the Indramayu area or at least in another place that is still included in the jurisdiction of the District Court, intentionally attacked the honor or good name of another person, namely the victim witness SUBIYANTO BIN SUTARA. The act was carried out by disseminating the show openly or by attaching writing or pictures, to a civil servant during or in carrying out his duties legally, which act was carried out in the following manner: At the time and place as mentioned above, initially the Defendant from January 21, 2002 until he made a picture of the victim witness and a writing entitled "KEPALA MARKET BANGKIR AROGAN" through the Jakarta Weekly Tabloid "Ambisi" published in Edition Number 63/Th III dated January 21-27, 2002 which was addressed to the victim witness as the Head of Bangkir Market, due to The news was broadcast and known to the public and the victim witness did not accept it and then reported it to the authorities. As a result of his actions, the Defendant is regulated and threatened with criminal penalties in Article; 310 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 316 of the Criminal Code. If we look at the issue of whether Mr. KSY, SE Bin Gani has clearly committed defamation? legally it is proven. However, because in the teachings of criminal law a person is considered to have committed a crime, it must be seen whether there is an intention or will from that person. If it turns out that the intention/will does not exist, then the criminal act is also considered not to exist. In this case, Mr. KSY, S.E BIN GANI did not have the intention or intent and purpose to insult or defame the good name or honor in his capacity as a civil servant with the position of head of the Bangjkir market. This is in accordance with the teachings of the law. Criminal law states that a crime must be based on subjective elements and objective elements. One of the subjective elements is that this crime must have an element of intent. Based on the Press Law (Law No. 40 of 1999) regulates the principles, provisions, and rights of press organizers in Indonesia, guarantees press freedom and affirms the role of the press as a pillar of democracy.

Abstract

Stroke is a leading cause of death and long-term disability in Indonesia, with central obesity as one of the main risk factors. This community service activity was carried out in Grogol Village, West Jakarta, with anthropometric screening in the form of measuring Body Mass Index (BMI) and Waist-to-hip Ratio (WHR) in 67 productive age participants. The measurements were carried out by the Faculty of Medicine team at Tarumanagara University using calibrated standard measuring instruments. The screening results showed that 67.16% of participants were obese based on BMI and 73.13% had high WHR indicating central obesity. Education on healthy eating patterns, increased physical activity, and recommendations for further medical examinations were provided as an effort to prevent stroke and cardiometabolic complications. This simple anthropometric screening approach and health education are expected to increase public awareness and reduce the incidence of stroke, especially in productive age.
