Abstract

Children's psychological development is development related to conditions that can affect children's daily lives both in the circle of friends and the surrounding community. There are so many factors that can affect the psychological development of children, including the family environment which will be the closest factor in the psychological development of children. Because basically the family is the first place for children to socialize after being born. The family is the first place for children regarding the social environment. If a child is in a harmonious and happy family, he will experience good psychological development, he will grow into a child who is physically, mentally and behaviorally healthy. However, it will be inversely proportional to children who grow and develop in an inharmonious family environment, such as the occurrence of an affair from one of their parents or both parents having an affair. These problems will have a tremendous impact, both on the perpetrators of the affair themselves, their partners and their children. Children will become victims of the infidelity committed by their parents. The impacts that will be obtained by the child include: there will be a child's distrust of a marriage relationship or distrust of the opposite sex, will cause anger and hatred in the child towards parents who have an affair, will cause indifference to their environment, children will close himself from the environment, the child will experience stress and the worst the child will experience depression. From the impact that the child gets, it will affect the development of the child in the future, both physically, psychologically and mentally. Efforts that can be made to maintain household harmony and maintain children's psychological development can be done by parents by building and maintaining small family harmony, by doing positive things together, spending weekends traveling together, being open to one another. So that the household is harmonious and the development and growth experienced by children is good and healthy physically, mentally and in behavior for the future. Keywords: Affair, Perkembangan Psikologis Anak, Children

Abstract

Natural disasters have a significant impact on the psychological well-being of volunteers involved in post-disaster management and recovery processes. This research examines the phenomenon of vicarious trauma experienced by natural disaster volunteers, identifying symptoms such as excessive anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and physical symptoms including chronic fatigue and headaches. Factors that influence the level of vicarious trauma include social support, previous trauma experiences, coping strategies, and resilience, as well as organizational factors such as supervisory support and workload. This research also highlights the importance of self-care strategies, social support, training, and supportive organizational approaches in overcoming vicarious trauma. Consistent implementation of these strategies can support volunteers' psychological well-being and increase the overall effectiveness of disaster relief.

Abstract

Cyberbullying has become increasingly common in line with the rapid advancement of digital technology and the extensive use of social media, especially among Indonesian adolescents. This study aims to identify the psychological and social factors associated with the emergence of cyberbullying behaviors among adolescents. The method used in this research is a narrative literature review of empirical studies published in reputable national and international journals between 2018 and 2023. The literature search conducted using the keywords cyberbullying, adolescent, and Indonesian participants, resulted in eight eligible articles, which were then analyzed qualitatively through narrative synthesis. The findings indicate that several variables consistently relate to cyberbullying, including intrapersonal factors (self-esteem, emotion regulation, empathy, and self-control), interpersonal factors (parent–child relationships, parenting style, and peer relationships), as well as personality and moral factors (dark triad personality traits and moral disengagement). Future research is expected to further explore additional variables that remain understudied and to integrate diverse findings to provide a more comprehensive understanding of cyberbullying dynamics among Indonesian adolescents.

Abstract

The TikTok app is a popular social media platform in Indonesia, with its main users aged between 18 and 24 years old. This application provides a short video feature that allows users to showcase the lives or lifestyles of other individuals. This often triggers social comparison when someone feels dissatisfied with what they have. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between qana'ah and social comparison among TikTok users who are elementary school teacher education students at Swadaya Gunung Jati University in Cirebon. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlation method. This study used Pearson's correlation to determine the relationship between the two variables. The hypothesis test yielded a result of (rxy = -0.644, p = 0.001). This indicates a significant negative relationship between qana'ah and social comparison, meaning that the higher the level of qana'ah, the lower the level of social comparison. Conversely, the lower the level of qana'ah, the higher the level of social comparison.

Abstract

Individuals with anxiety disorders often experience emotional communication barriers that limit the effectiveness of conventional verbal therapy. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of visual expression-based art therapy in overcoming emotional communication barriers in anxiety disorders. This study uses a qualitative approach with a narrative literature review method by synthesizing theoretical and empirical literature related to emotional communication barriers in individuals with anxiety disorders. This study found that visual expression-based art therapy can help overcome emotional communication barriers in individuals with anxiety disorders. Through visual media, individuals can express emotions that are difficult to articulate verbally, thereby facilitating more adaptive emotional processing. These findings indicate that art therapy works through a bottom-up mechanism by accessing nonverbal memories and implicit emotions, which are then integrated into cognitive understanding. Neuropsychologically, the creative process in art therapy is associated with decreased amygdala activity, increased prefrontal cortex function, and improved emotional regulation, which contribute to a reduction in anxiety symptoms. Thus, art therapy does not replace verbal therapy, but rather serves as a complementary approach that provides an alternative pathway for emotional communication for individuals with verbal limitations.

Abstract

The growing phenomenon of volunteerism among students, especially in social activities related to children with special needs. These activities require a high level of patience and can affect the psychological well-being of volunteers. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of patience, psychological well-being, and the relationship between the two in volunteers in the Play and Friendship class. The method used was quantitative with a correlational approach. The research subjects consisted of 30 active volunteers selected using saturated sampling and purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that most volunteers had a moderate level of patience (73.3%) and moderate psychological well-being (50%). The correlation test produced a value of r = 0.637 with p < 0.001, which means that there is a positive and significant relationship between patience and psychological well-being. The higher the level of patience, the higher the level of psychological well-being of volunteers.
