Abstract

The phenomena of radicalism and extremism in Pakistan remain persistent national security challenges frequently associated with Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to comprehensively synthesize the role of Islamic education in countering extremist ideologies by mapping the evolution of curriculum and pedagogy over the last five years. The methodology employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) adhering to the PRISMA protocol, involving the analysis of 45 reputable academic references (Scopus, Sinta, Garuda, and Dimensions) published between 2021 and 2025. The data indicates a significant shift from closed theological education toward a hybrid model through the Single National Curriculum (SNC) policy, which integrates science, digital literacy, and critical thinking. Research findings reveal that the internal reform of Madrasahs and the strategic role of teachers as agents of moderation have effectively reduced potential cognitive radicalism at the grassroots level. In conclusion, Islamic education in Pakistan has transformed into a proactive counter-radicalization instrument through the theological deconstruction of violent narratives and the economic empowerment of students. This study recommends the necessity of continuous synchronization between national security policies and soft-power-based educational reforms to ensure long-term stability in the region.

Abstract

This study examines the optimization of Islamic social finance—comprising Zakat, Infaq, Sedekah, and Waqf (ZISWAF)—as a strategic instrument for poverty alleviation in Thailand. Despite being a minority-Muslim nation, Thailand possesses significant potential for Islamic philanthropic management, particularly in the Southern provinces. Utilizing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA protocol, this research synthesizes academic literature from 2021–2026 to identify the challenges and opportunities in ZISWAF governance. The findings reveal that while Zakat and Waqf institutions contribute to local socio-economic stability, their impact is often hindered by fragmented management, lack of legal integration with national frameworks, and low public digital literacy. The study proposes a "Digital-Integrated ZISWAF Model" to enhance transparency and distribution efficiency. Ultimately, this research provides a roadmap for Thai Islamic institutions and policymakers to leverage social finance for sustainable poverty reduction.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the legal ambiguities and ethical challenges arising from the rapid development of modern biotechnology, particularly human cloning and genetic engineering, which often outpace the speed of contemporary Islamic legal ijtihad. The objective of this study is to systematically synthesize Islamic legal perspectives on these ethical issues to provide guidelines for medical practitioners and policymakers. The methodology employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) utilizing the PRISMA protocol, analyzing reputable academic literature from Scopus, Sinta, and Dimensions databases within the 2021-2025 period. The collected data reveal a clear legal fragmentation: reproductive cloning and germline genetic modification are widely rejected to protect the purity of lineage (Hifz al-Nasl), whereas therapeutic cloning and somatic cell genetic engineering are accepted as forms of medical benefit (Maslaha). The research conclusion emphasizes that Islamic law, through the Maqasid al-Shari'ah framework, is adaptive yet provides strict ethical boundaries to prevent dehumanization and biological exploitation. These findings offer a theoretical contribution to the development of interdisciplinary Islamic bioethics and a practical contribution in the form of policy recommendations for genetic research regulation in the Muslim world.

Abstract

The rising prevalence of global stress and anxiety necessitates a holistic and culturally sensitive intervention model, particularly within Muslim communities where mental health issues often carry religious stigma. Objective: This study aims to synthesize contemporary academic literature regarding the role of Islamic communication—both transcendental (vertical) and interpersonal (horizontal)—as a spiritual instrument in mental health management. Methods: A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA protocol, analyzing 45 reputable articles from Scopus, Sinta, and Garuda databases published between 2021 and 2025. Results: The findings indicate that Islamic communication techniques, such as dhikr (remembrance), du’a (prayer), and tawakkul (resignation), function as effective proactive coping mechanisms that reduce cortisol levels and stabilize emotions through spiritual-based cognitive restructuring. Conclusion: The integration of spiritual communication into clinical psychological services not only enhances healing efficacy but also significantly deconstructs the social stigma surrounding mental disorders. This study provides a vital framework for developing mental health intervention models that harmonize religious wisdom with modern medical standards.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of globalization and digital disruption presents a dual challenge for Islamic educational institutions: maintaining traditional religious values while achieving global competitiveness. Malaysia has emerged as a significant model in navigating this tension through strategic institutional reforms. Objective: This study aims to analyze the strategic responses of Islamic education management in Malaysia to globalization and the era of disruption, focusing on the sustainability of these strategies. Methods: Utilizing a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, this research synthesizes official policy documents (e.g., Malaysia Education Blueprint 2025) and academic literature from 2021–2025 via a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) framework. Results: The findings reveal that Malaysia’s management response is characterized by "Maqasid-based Strategic Management," which integrates digital transformation (Smart Madrasahs), international quality accreditation, and financial autonomy through productive waqf. Contrary to fears of secularization, digital tools have catalyzed a "re-spiritualization" of education, enhancing the accessibility and personalization of religious learning. Conclusion: Sustainable strategies in Malaysia succeed by anchoring modern technological efficiency in traditional Islamic ethics (Adab). This SIEM (Sustainable Islamic Education Management) model offers a viable roadmap for other Muslim-majority nations to achieve educational modernization without identity loss.
