Abstract

Abstract Microorganisms are in anywhere, as in soil, dust, air, water, food or surface of our body tissues. The existence of these microorganisms was that benefit human life, but many are also harmful as it may cause human diseases or may even cause damage from contamination. Control of microorganisms can be done w it h ultra-violet radiation. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of duration of irradiation on the growth of bacteria nacillus sp. Type of research is to experiment. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Microbiology Faculty of Nursing and Health, University of Muhammadiah Semarang in May-July 2008.-The sample was Take one coloni of bacteria Bacillus sp. then make a suspension with a density of 2 mc Farmland. Observations were made by observing the number of colonies of Bacillus sp. That grows on long exposures compared to controls without irradiation. Based on our research has been done in the microbiology laboratory results obtained Fikkes unimus, ultra violet irradiation time 38 watts for I minute with a distance of 45 cm on NA medium containing the bacteria Bacillus sp colonies obtained many as l8 fruits, irradiation for 5 minutes and get 15-colony , irradiation for l0 minutes there was no colony grew, irradiation for t5 minutes there was no colony grew. ln control medium not exposed to ultra violet colony growth obtained a very full / not be calculated. Abstract

Abstract Patients with obesity have excessive fat accumulation in the body, causes the occurrence of obesity is usually caused by an abnormal eating pattern that is eaten in the number of very large and eat at night.. Obese People hove elevated levels of cholesterol in the body (hypercholesterolemia) (Mangku Sitepoe, l993). Cholesterol is a form of at that is naturally present in foods derived from animals, which allows the human body to make sex hormones and sexual function, adrenal hormones are necessary in the process of metabolism, and vitamin D. (lmam Suharto, 2004). Cholesterol is also useful for transporting fat in the blood throughout the body, which in a long time that blood vessels may be narrowed or closed. If the arteries (arteries) that provide blood to the hear, brain or organs - covered other important organs, can lead to risk of atherosclerosis, heart attack, stroke or failure of other vital organ functions. High levels of cholesterol called hypercholesterolemia is closely associated with the disease of obesity. (Corine T. Netzer, 1994). Based on the above background raised The question, "How can blood cholesterol levels in obese people in the housing KORPRI Sambiroto Semarang Kelurahan". The purpose of this study are: Measuring the value of Body Mass Index (BMD to determine the criteria for obesity, Measuring cholesterol in people with obesity. Knowing the influence of obesity on cholesterol levels Method: This type of research study is a descriptive The entire study population was obese in the housing KORPRI Sambiroto Semarang Kelurahan. Study sample was obese at 8 RW Semarang Kelurahan sambiroto taken in totol population. From the results of examination and discussion of research on the cholesterol wells in obese Semarang Kelurahan Simongan Ngemplak can be summarized as follows: From the samples that have been carried out Inspection lowest cholesterol 156.4 mg / dl, the highest cholesterol 256.8 mg / dl, cholesterol levels an Average of 197.4 mg / dl. From the results obtained based on Body Mass Index (BMI) that was not always obese, high cholesterol levels, because cholesterol is not always influenced by obesity, but more affected on the consumption of foods containing cholesterol. Abstract

Abstract Background: Tooth paste is one of the cosmetics product used not only by adult but also children. The Function is to clean teeth from food or beverages scrap, to keep the health of teeth and gum, and also to reduce the smell caused by mouth bacteria. Tooth paste is made from several ingredients; among other is the surfactant that can form foam from toothpaste. Surfactant is usually added in a form of synthetic detergent because it can give fictive foaming effect in a form of anionic detergent. The use of surfactant in tooth paste is low spread and to wet the particles found in tooth paste. The surfactant has to be able to create liquid Suspension from the polishing materials during the process of brushing the teeth and make it able to dissolve into the pit of teeth in order to accelerate the cleaning effect and getting rid the unknown substances. Some other surfactant can also lower the surface pressure in order to make toothpaste absorb into the teeth surface Pores and fictively dissolving the dirt attached to the teeth. According to Harry's Cosmeticologt, the amount of surfactant allowed in tooth paste is around l%-2%. Population o/ the Research: The sample used in this research is the children's toothpaste taken using the random sampling method out of various brands and flavors. Each simple is analyzed using triple method. Result of the Research: The result of the research is as shown: l) Anionic detergent amount found in Children toothpaste sample A = 0,15%o, sample B = 0,06%, sample C = 0,04%, sample D = 0,050%, sample E =0, 13%, sample F=0,30%,sampleG=0,35%,sampleH=0,lToldansamplel=0,28%. 2)Anionic detergent amount found in children tooth paste being researched fulfill the Harry's Cosmeticologt criteria that says the amount of anionic detergent or surfactant found in toothpaste should not be more than 2%o. Abstract

Abstract Background: Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis) is one of the potent medicinal plants as breaking Facilitate Kidney stones and urine. Potassium in lempuyung will remove calcium and oxalate join that can form kidney stones, which can dissolve and come out with urine. The use of tea leaves tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis) with boiled or soaked in boiling water for current time. Use tempuyung tea once or twice a day for 30 Consecutive days, it is necessary to do research on the influence of frequency of use of dried tea leaves tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis) on solubility of calcium oxalate (CqC2Oq. This study aims to find out the Concentration of dry tea leaves tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis) and the weight of calcium oxalate (C2Oa Co) that have the optimum calcium oxalate solubility maximum, determine the solubility of calcium oxalate by frequency of use of dried tea leaves lx daily tempuyung ond 2x a day, and luow inlluence the frequency of use of dried tea leys’ to tempuyung solubility of calcium oxalate. The method used in tempuyung leaves once a dry and 2 times a dry for seven consecutive days   Population Research: tempuyung tea legates, bound variable is the frequenq of use qnd vqriable elimination tempuyung is the power to dissolve the tea tempuyung calcium oxalate (Ca C2OQ. The method used in tempuyung lefts once a day and 2 times a day for seven consecutive days with repeat 5 times. The results: The results showed that the frequency of use of tea leaves tempuyung with 2x daily dose had calcium oxalate solubility is greater than the frequency of use of tea leaves tempuyung with lx daily dose is after 2 x daily for 7 consecutive days has solubility of calcium Oxalic of 27.49%. The longer the time the use of the tea leaves tempuyung solubility of calcium oxalate is also growing, and there is the influence of Frequency of use of the tea leaves to tempuyung solubility of calcium oxalate. Abstract

Abstract Anti-dandruff shampoos on the market are expected to inhibit the growth of Candida sp. on the Scalp, but the fact is not able to inhibit the growth of fungi that still occur as a manifestation of dandruff growth of Candida sp. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of Candida sp. in media containing anti-dandruff shampoo. Types of research conducted experiments conducted in FIKKES UNIMUS Microbiology Laboratory. When the study in March and April 2006. Sample of pure cultures of Candida sp. Isolate BLK Semarang, and anti-dandruff shampoo containing active substances with Zn Pt O brand A, B, and C. Series of test done including manufacturing test solution consisting of shampoo solution with a concentration of 90%, 80%, 70%, 60%, 50%, suspicion Candida sp. contact time l, 2, 3, 4, and 5 minutes. Suspension Candida sp. Treated with test solution and planted in the medic and then incubated SGA 2x24 hours at a temperature of 370 C. Research results showed growth of Candida sp happen. on SGA medium (Glucose Saboroud order) which has been in contact with anti-dandruff shampoos A, B, and C at concentrations of 90%, with the Relative number of colonies decreased from the previous contact time of l, 2, 3, 4, and  5 minute. Of the three shampoos that can inhibit the growth of the fungus Candida sp. well is shampoo C. Conclusion that the higher konsetrasi shampoo and more time in contact with the higher shampoo inhibit the growth of shampoo for Candida sp. SGA to the media. Abstract

Abstract Background: Garlic is also used as a spice in cooking are also used as traditional medicine. Garlic is usually used for treatment of worms being able to apple worms Because the content of garlic is dried, the possibility of garlic can kill mosquito larvae. The purpose of this study was to measure the fictiveness of –garlic so-lotion killing the larvae of Aedes aegtpti, and to know different number of dead larvae of various concentrat ions of gar lic s olut ion.   Methode: This type of research is conducted experiments in the laboratory of miuobiologt, Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing, UJniversity of Muhammadiyah Semarang. The sample used was the Aedes  mosquito larvae to instor-4 obtained from Vector Reservoir Development Center of Disease (BPVRP) Salatiga. Direct examination conducted by mixing the garlic extract with water in certain concentrations, so get thi g,arlic solution which was then at each concentration of garlic solution Aedes aegtpti larvae included as many as l0 tails. Research resulls. At t% concentrations can not be ffictive because the number of dead larvae less than 75o/o. Whereas the concentration of 5o%, l0%,25% and 50% could e/fictively kill The larvae because of the number of dead larvae is greater than or equal to 75o%' Conclusions: The lowest concentration of garlic solution that can kill the larvae of Aedes aegtpti is a concentration of 5%o and there are differences in the overage number of Aedes aegepti larvae mortality of garlic solution with various concentrations. Abstract

Abstract Alum is used to improve the quality of food containing toxic heavy metal ions which can interfere with Aluminum enzymatic system, and tissue damage. Liver and kidney are the most used network is affected, because it is a detoxification organ. Liver and kidney damage can be detected by an enzyme concentration of SGOT, SGPT, Billirubin, Protein, Ureum and Creatinin in the blood This study aims to find out the effects of alum in a feed supplement for liver and kidney damage in a clinic conducted from May to Oclober 2007, at the Laboratory of the University Clinic Patologt Muhammadiyah Semarang. Sample studies of white rats (Rattus norvegicus, L.), aged 2 months with weight average of 200 grams. 0o/o dose treatment (without supplementation), 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.5%, 1% and 0% (without supplementation), and subsequent treatment with a dose of 2%, 3%, 4%, 5 % and 6% volum, who every day put into the stomach of rats l0 mL Clinical laboratory tests performed at the time before treatment (control), 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 8 weeks of exposure time. Examination AST and ALT with Ultra Violet Test methods, Total Billirubin with modifications Groff Jendrasik method, total protein Colorimetri method, U Berthelot method, Creatinin Jaffe method. Clinical chemistry tests showed that supplementation influence of alum on the concentration of Enzymes and other factors in the blood of mice associated with damage to liver and kidney tissue. Level of organ damage significant with alum in a feed supplement. The higher the concentration of alum disuplementasion and the longer exposure time resulted in damage to the liver and kidneys getting worse.
