Findings indicate that the expenditure of campaigns and the attractiveness of candidates play a great role in determining the preferences of the voters whereas satisfaction of the candidates very strongly relates with increased voter turnout. There was moderate levels of confidence in the local government especially among voters below the ages of 30 years and who were more educated and a feeling political cynicism was on the rise. Furthermore, the number of the youth who turned out to vote was very low and participation in other ways of engaging the civic life was low. These results bring to fore the essentiality of strategic campaign communique, institutional trust-building, and cult of engagement culturally embedded towards influencing electoral outcomes. This research can be used to comprehend the wider picture of subnational democratic practices and find some viable alternatives to promoting the quality of policies and inclusion characterizing local government in Indonesia.

The role of faith as a pillar of constructing ethical values and social norms continues to be historically present in different societies and cultures. Based on holy books and explanations by church leaders, religious teachings are sources of morality that guide personal behavior and relationship with others. The Ten Commandments of Judaism and Christianity and the Five Pillars of Islam prescribe doctrinal systems which govern issues of justice, compassion and responsibility. The moral orientation of the followers is further defined by the spiritual institutions, which through hierarchical institutions and charismatic leaders provide guidance, pastoral care and direction to the followers in times of crisis or societal change. The psychological and sociological approaches help to clarify how religion shapes moral values and norms. Cognitive theories highlight inherent tendencies which underpin faith in the sacred whereas sociological theories focus on the influence of religious institutions in promoting cohesion and behavioral control. Empirical studies reveal that there is a positive relationship between religious commitments and prosocial behavior but the effect sizes differ across traditions and cultures. In spite of the pluralism and diversity, interfaith dialogue and advocacy opens the possibilities to improve cooperation and understanding. Societies can use the transformative power of faith to create more inclusive, just, and caring societies by embracing diversity and developing dialogue.

This research aims to evaluate the social and economic impacts of migration triggered by climate change in Indonesia, with a focus on Central Kalimantan, South Sumatra and East Java. Research methods involve case studies, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to obtain comprehensive data from migrants and host communities. The results show that migrants often experience social isolation and difficulties in integrating into local communities, while host communities face social tensions and increased burdens on basic services. Economically, migrants experience difficulties in finding suitable work and face rising living costs. These findings highlight the need for better support for migrants, improved infrastructure and social services in host communities, and the development of more responsive and evidence-based migration policies. In conclusion, a holistic approach involving multiple stakeholders is essential to effectively manage the impacts of migration, support social integration, and improve economic well-being in affected regions.

This study aims to explore the relationship between Instagram use and body image anxiety issues among adolescents, as well as the role of social comparison as a mediator. The research method involves a quantitative survey with descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson correlation, and linear regression, as well as qualitative interviews to explore the subjective experiences of Instagram users. The results of the quantitative analysis showed that duration of Instagram use and social comparison had a significant positive impact on body image anxiety, with social comparison functioning as the main mediator. Qualitative data reveals that teens often feel pressured by unrealistic beauty standards and experience decreased self-confidence due to social comparison, even though positive content can provide emotional support. In conclusion, interventions that focus on social media education and promotion of positive body image content are needed to reduce the negative impact on adolescents' mental health.

The purpose of this study is to conduct an investigation about how Twitter affected the mobilization of voters to vote when it comes to the local elections. Using a mixed-methods design we were able to provide both a quantitative and qualitative analysis. The quantitative research was conducted through the analysis of the content of 3000 tweets located related to the election and the survey of 500 participants which aims to measure the use of Twitter as an information source in politics and the impact on the voting intentions. The interviews and the case study of the mayoral election in a large city in Indonesia were conducted among the politicians, the campaigns, and the voters who participated in the qualitative analysis complemented by the in-depth interviews. According to the results provided by the content analysis, the influencer endorsements had the highest engagement rates, as they were not as numerous but still very efficient, and direct calls to action were rather effective as well. The results of the survey showed that most of the people surveyed used Twitter as a source of political information frequently and were compelled to vote as a result of their engagement in Twitter. Interviews pointed to the value of the immediate interaction during the time and support of the influencers to raise the profile of a campaign and turnout among the voters. According to the case study, voter turnout increased significantly as the use of Twitter in the campaigning strategy was intensive. These results indicate that Twitter can effectively be relied on to drive voters out, with careful placement of content and use of interconnections as major determinants of successful campaigns. These experiences can be used to provide some recommendations to future political campaigns that can use Twitter to attract voters and to increase voter turnout.

The purpose of the proposed study would be to test the effectiveness of the Neighborhood Watch Programs (NWPs) to lower the rates of burglaries in the urbanized regions by filling the gaps in the current literature by utilizing quasi-experimental design and thorough statistical analysis. The data collected included police records, surveys conducted in the communities and interview procedures taken especially in areas that had and did not have NWPS. Descriptive statistics demonstrated that the rates of burglary among NWP regions (mean = 4.5) were significantly lower than the ones of the non-NWP regions (mean = 7.3) and the difference was considered to be statistically significant (t = -5.32, p < 0.001). Subsequent ANOVA, ANCOVA, and multiple regression gave further evidence that NWPs had a substantial influence on the level of burglary, regardless of the socioeconomic status and the presence of police. There was also a great negative level of association between level of community engagement and burglary rates (r = -0.67, p < 0.001) reinforcing deep roles of vigorous community engagement in the prevention of the crime. Results indicate that NWPs are extremely useful in bringing down burglary rates, and it would be of use to the policymakers and law enforcement agencies. One of the important policies of urban crime prevention might be the promotion and support of the NWPs. It is necessary to suggest in the future new research about the wider scope of NWPs on other forms of crime and which elements of a specific program can make it more effective.

This quantitative research looks at the reasons and steps to fixing the racial inequity in the juvenile justice system and the roles played by the socioeconomic status, implicit bias, and school disciplinary measures. With the help of the in-depth processing of juvenile justice files, disciplinary records in schools, and socioeconomic indicators, and complemented by the surveys of interested parties, the study finds meaningful patterns and causal links. The results demonstrate that in poorer neighborhoods, there is a higher rate of arrest and detention, whereas more implicit bias and here severity of school disciplinary measures affect minority youth in disproportional numbers. These findings support the idea of multidimensional intervention, such as economic support of fewer privileged communities, the education of the law enforcement and school officials on implicit bias, as well as the application of restorative justice in schools. Strong empirical evidence given by this study contributes to the further research on the topic of racial inequality in the juvenile justice and indicates viable measures available to reinforce the ideas of equity and justice.
