Abstract

This study aims to determine the efforts of Akidah Akhlak teachers in fostering religious moderation at MTsN 2 Jambi City. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively-qualitatively to describe strategies and challenges in fostering religious moderation. The research findings show that efforts to foster religious moderation are carried out inside and outside the classroom. In the classroom, teachers insert moderation values such as tolerance, justice, balance, deliberation, middle ground, and equality, all of which are related to students' daily lives. Outside the classroom, coaching focuses on strengthening national values and local culture through extracurricular activities and national moments. The obstacles faced include students' lack of understanding due to an unsupportive environment and the influence of social media that spreads extreme information. Strategic efforts involve all elements of the madrasah, including the principal, through synergy, role models, and integration of moderation values in activities and curriculum.

Abstract

International diplomacy plays a very important role in shaping the image of moderate Islam on the global stage, and GP Ansor, as a Muslim youth organization in Indonesia, has played an active role in this effort. Through various diplomatic strategies, such as narrative diplomacy using social media and digital platforms, GP Ansor has succeeded in conveying the message of peaceful, tolerant, and inclusive Islam to international audiences. The organization is also active in international forums such as peace conferences and interfaith dialogues, trying to change the negative perception of Islam that is often associated with extremism and conflict. However, major challenges arise from GP Ansor's limited access to formal diplomacy dominated by countries and international institutions, as well as global perceptions that often simplify the face of Islam. In addition, differences in ideology and global political interests also complicate international cooperation based on Islamic moderation. Limited human and financial resources are also significant obstacles to achieving consistent and professional international diplomacy.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of people who have interfaith marriages in Indonesia. So that it causes controversy and debate among scholars. The research method used is a literature study with a thematic approach that generally makes a reality as a starting point and then continues with the analysis process according to the perspective of the hadith. The sources of this research are primary and secondary sources. The primary source is the hadith prohibiting marrying polytheists contained in Sahih Bukhari, Thalaq book, Chapter 18. While secondary sources are in the form of books related to the theme, besides also referring to other books and writings that are relevant to this research. The research findings state that the quality of the hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari regarding the hadith prohibiting marrying polytheists in the sanad is sahih Lī Ḍzaṭih because it is narrated through narrators who are considered Ḍhabit and Tsiqah by hadith critics. As for the quality of the text of this hadith, it does not contradict the Qur'an and more authentic hadiths, so that the text of this hadith has the status of authentic Lī Ḍzaṭih and may be practiced because it has the criteria of hadith evidence. So that the hadith about the prohibition of marrying polytheists is considered relevant if it is viewed only as a warning and is considered irrelevant if the hadith is related to the prohibition of marrying polytheists against the laws in Indonesia, namely, first, the marriage of a Muslim woman with a non-Muslim man is forbidden by law. Second, a Muslim man is forbidden to marry a non-Muslim woman. Third, regarding the marriage between a Muslim man and a woman of the People of the Book, there are differences of opinion. However, after considering that the Mafsadah is greater than the maslahat, the Indonesian Ulema Council issued a fatwa that the law is forbidden.

Abstract

In the testimony of adultery, scholars do not accept women's testimony as witnesses. At this time, women and men have the same opportunities in access to education, social, and so on. Unlike women in ancient times who were ordered to stay at home. Seeing this phenomenon, researchers try to study the witness of adultery contained in Q.S. An-Nūr verse 04 analyzing it using the Ma'na cum maghza approach, namely an approach that emphasizes interpretation based on two main factors, namely the historical meaning/main message (ma'na), and the main message/historical significance (maghza) then the significance of the text is developed into the current context and discipline. The purpose of this study is to re-examine the case of witnesses in adultery cases whether women can be witnesses in adultery cases. The findings in this thesis are: (1) The historical meaning (ma'na at-tarikhi) of Q.S. An-Nūr verse 04. Proving a case of adultery requires 4 male witnesses who saw the case directly. (2) The historical phenomenal significance (maghza at-tarikhi) of Q.S. An-Nūr verse 04 is a warning to society at that time that establishing a case of accusation of adultery is not something trivial, it requires conditions that are difficult to fulfill.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the epistemology-dialectic between religion and culture through the perspective of anthropologists using library research methods. The main focus of this study is to explore how anthropological thinkers understand the reciprocal relationship between religious values and cultural practices that continue to transform along with social dynamics. Through an analysis of classical and contemporary literature from figures such as Clifford Geertz, Emile Durkheim, Bronislaw Malinowski, and Talal Asad, this study finds that religion is not only understood as a symbolic system, but also as a cultural force that shapes patterns of societal behavior. Conversely, culture also influences how religion is practiced , interpreted, and passed down in various social contexts. The research findings show that the relationship between religion and culture is dialectical both negotiate the space of meaning, norms, and collective identity. Thus, this study emphasizes the importance of an anthropological approach in understanding religion as a social and cultural phenomenon, and offers a new epistemological framework for viewing religion and culture as dynamically interacting and intertwined entities.

Abstract

This article aims to provide an understanding of the context of K-Pop fanaticism and its interpretation in the Qur’an. K-Pop is a music industry originating from South Korea that is highly popular and has a large fan base. K-Pop fans consistently show support and loyalty, and often excessively glorify their idols and communities by displaying extreme and obsessive behavior. For this reason, K-Pop fans are frequently labeled as fanatical by society. Therefore, this article discusses the context of K-Pop fanatical behavior from the perspective of the Qur’an, focusing on a thematic analysis of several Qur’anic verses related to fanaticism, using data analysis based on a Systematic Literature Review. The results of this study indicate that fanatical behavior toward K-Pop is prohibited and contradicts the teachings and cultural values of Islam, whereas merely expressing admiration is permissible. Thus, fans are expected to reduce excessive indulgence in foreign cultures and to exercise self-restraint so as not to follow cultural practices that are prohibited by religion, which could otherwise lead to the erosion of local culture and cause individuals to deviate onto an improper path.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the issue of "Islamic Unity: Why Are the Ummah Not United and How to Unite Them?" through a library research approach by examining classical and contemporary literature related to socio-religious dynamics in Islam. The disunity of the ummah often stems from differences in schools of thought, political interests, group fanaticism, and a lack of understanding of the values of tolerance and Islamic brotherhood taught by the Qur'an and the Sunnah. This study analyzes historical factors that have influenced the fragmentation of the ummah since the time of the Khulafaur Rasyidin to the modern era, including the influence of colonialism and globalization in shaping the social structure of the Muslim community. This study also identifies the role of education, da'wah, and moderate religious literacy as strategic paths to building unity. Efforts for inter-group reconciliation can be achieved through constructive dialogue, strengthening the principle of wasathiyah, and revitalizing the teachings of Islamic brotherhood. The results of the study indicate that unity is not only a theological issue but also a sociological and political one that requires collaboration between ulama, government, and society. Taking into account the value of rahmatan lil 'alamin (mercy for the universe), this study concludes that communal synergy will be more easily achieved through an inclusive approach, effective communication, and strengthening a shared vision. These findings are expected to provide theoretical contributions to the development of the discourse on Islamic unity as well as practical solutions for implementation in various contexts of communal life.

Abstract

This study uses a Literature Review (SLR) approach to explore the concept of Dearabization and the development of politics, economics, government administration, education, and law during the Abbasid era as the golden period of Islamic civilization. The study was conducted by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing various primary and secondary sources in the form of books, journals, and relevant historical archives. Dearabization is understood as a process of expanding the Islamic cultural space that is no longer focused on Arab ethnic domination, but rather opens up opportunities for the integration of non-Arab nations, thereby accelerating intellectual and government dynamics. In the context of politics and government administration, a more organized bureaucratic structure emerged with the contribution of the Persian nation, while the economy developed rapidly through international trade and agricultural progress. Education gave birth to scientific institutions such as the Baitul Hikmah which became centers of translation and scientific study, while the legal field experienced a systematic codification of fiqh. Literature findings indicate that Dearabization actually strengthened Islamic civilization and led the Abbasid era to become a center of global progress. The implications of these findings for the development of contemporary Islamic civilization lie in inspiring adaptive, just, and knowledge-based governance. The Abbasid principle of derabbanization offers lessons on the separation of functions, bureaucratic professionalism, strengthening a productive economy, and inclusive education all of which align with modern challenges such as plurality, innovation, and accountability.
