Abstract

Improving educational quality has become a significant issue in the management of educational institutions in response to increasing demands for accountability, transparency, and global competitiveness. Educational institutions are not only expected to produce competent graduates but also to establish sustainable quality management systems. In this context, the concepts of internal quality and external quality represent essential components within the framework of educational quality assurance. This study aims to conceptually examine the relationship between internal and external quality in the management of educational institutions and to address how these two dimensions contribute to improving institutional quality. This research employs a literature review method by collecting scholarly sources from the Google Scholar database using the Publish or Perish (PoP) software. The literature search used the keywords “internal quality,” “external quality,” and “educational quality assurance.” The selection process involved screening and eligibility stages, starting from approximately 47 initial articles, which were refined to 17 relevant articles for analysis. The findings reveal that the literature highlights two major themes: strengthening internal quality assurance systems through effective management of educational resources and achieving external quality recognition through accreditation mechanisms, public trust, and graduate competitiveness. The integration of these two quality dimensions plays a crucial role in establishing an accountable and sustainable education system. Future research is recommended to explore empirical implementations of the relationship between internal and external quality across different types of educational institutions.

Abstract

The increasingly complex development of educational organizations demands the integration of managerial approaches and psychological aspects in their management. Management psychology is important because it plays a role in understanding motivation, communication, leadership, and human resource well-being, which have a direct impact on the effectiveness of educational institutions. This article aims to analyze and synthesize research trends in management psychology in the educational context over the past five years and identify the dominant dimensions that contribute to improving organizational performance. The research questions focus on: (1) what are the trends and main focuses of management psychology studies in education; and (2) what dimensions are most dominant in improving the effectiveness of educational organizations. This study uses a systematic literature review approach through the Google Scholar database with the help of the Publish or Perish application using the keywords "management psychology," "educational organizations," "teacher motivation," and "organizational communication." From the initial 50 identified articles, five main articles were selected for in-depth analysis. The results of the study indicate three dominant themes: motivation and school effectiveness, organizational communication and teacher performance, and well-being and stress management. Overall, management psychology contributes significantly to improving the quality and sustainability of educational organizations. Further research is recommended to use a quantitative approach, mixed methods, or meta-analysis and integrate a digital transformation perspective.

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between quality assurance practices and teachers’ commitment in public primary schools in Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State. The study was guided by three objectives which focused on the extent of implementation of quality assurance practices, the level of teachers’ commitment, and the relationship between both variables. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The population of the study comprised 1,324 respondents, from which a sample of 291 was selected using the Research Advisors (2006) table. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire validated by experts and tested for reliability, yielding a coefficient of 0.93. Descriptive statistics of mean and standard deviation were used to answer research questions, while Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that quality assurance practices are moderately implemented in public primary schools in the study area. It was also found that teachers’ commitment is relatively high in terms of attendance, punctuality, and instructional responsibilities. Furthermore, a significant positive relationship was established between quality assurance practices and teachers’ commitment (r = 0.62, p < 0.05). The study concluded that effective implementation of quality assurance practices enhances teachers’ commitment in public primary schools. It was recommended that supervision, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms should be strengthened to further improve teachers’ commitment and school effectiveness.
