Abstract

The modern era offers technological advancements yet simultaneously presents challenges to students’ character development, including increasing individualism, weakened self-control, and declining spiritual awareness. Sufism, as an integral part of Islamic intellectual tradition, provides moral and spiritual values that can serve as a strong basis for balanced character education. This study aims to explore Sufi values such as tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul), muhasabah (self-reflection), zuhd (simplicity), taqwa (piety), and mahabbah (love of God) as foundational principles for character development in modern educational contexts. Using a literature review method, this study analyzes classical and contemporary sources. The findings reveal that Sufi values are effective in fostering noble character, emotional self-regulation, and a balanced life orientation between worldly and spiritual goals. Therefore, Sufism remains relevant as a strategic approach in shaping students’ character amid the challenges of modernization.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum positions the Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) as a strategic instrument for character building through authentic, collaborative, and contextual project-based learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of P5 as a character development instrument and to identify the main challenges in its implementation in educational institutions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study using data sources such as journals, books, scientific articles, and official Merdeka Curriculum documents. Data were collected using documentation techniques, coded based on substantive themes, and analyzed using content analysis, which included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings indicate that P5 is effective in developing the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile through reflective, collaborative, and real-life-relevant learning experiences. However, its implementation still faces several obstacles, such as limited teacher competence in designing value-oriented project learning, suboptimal time management, insufficient supporting facilities, and an underdeveloped culture of collaboration. These barriers affect the depth of value internalization achieved through P5. In conclusion, the success of P5 is strongly influenced by teachers’ pedagogical competence, school management support, and the readiness of the learning ecosystem. Systematic reinforcement of teacher capacity and all school components is required for P5 to function optimally in achieving the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

Ramadhan fasting is a spiritual practice with theological, psychological, and social dimensions. From an Islamic psychological perspective, fasting is understood as a process of spiritual education (tarbiyah nafs) aimed at fostering piety and mental balance. This article aims to comprehensively analyze the relationship between fasting education and mental health, based on Islamic psychological literature and contemporary empirical research. The method used is a literature review of international scientific journals and Islamic psychological studies. The analysis shows that Ramadhan fasting contributes to improved psychological well-being, emotional regulation, resilience, self-control, meaning in life, and social cohesion. Fasting also serves as a promotive-preventive intervention in spirituality-based mental health. Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept and implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) as an effort to humanize education in shaping a generation with humanistic character. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods through the analysis of various relevant scientific literature, such as journals, books, and educational policy documents. The findings indicate that the Love-Based Curriculum is an educational approach that places the value of compassion (mahabbah/rahmah) at the core of the learning process, integrated into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instruction. Its implementation in PAI instruction is carried out through humanistic, dialogic, and reflective approaches capable of creating a warm, inclusive, and meaningful learning environment. Values of love including love for God, fellow human beings, the environment, and the homeland have been proven to contribute to shaping students’ characters to be empathetic, tolerant, responsible, and spiritually aware. Thus, the Love-Based Curriculum plays a strategic role in restoring the essence of Islamic education as a process of humanization and serves as an alternative solution to the character crisis in the modern era.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of the Strengthening Character Education (PPK), the Merdeka Curriculum, and the Pancasila Student Profile (P5) within school learning practices as part of efforts to enhance student character formation and learning autonomy. The research aims to describe how these three components operate together at the implementation level and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors within the school environment. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, school leaders, and students. The findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum provides a flexible framework that allows PPK value (religiosity, nationalism, integrity, independence, and cooperation) to be embedded naturally into daily learning. Meanwhile, P5 acts as a practical guide that helps schools translate character values into real projects and activities. The analysis also shows that teacher readiness, availability of learning resources, and school culture significantly influence successful implementation. However, several challenges remain, including uneven teacher competence, varying levels of parental involvement, and limited infrastructure in some schools. Overall, this study concludes that integrating PPK, the Merdeka Curriculum, and P5 strengthens holistic character development and student competence when supported by professional teachers and a collaborative school ecosystem.

Abstract

Professionalism of teachers and lecturers is a crucial factor in improving the quality of national education. Educators are required to have mastery of knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes to conduct effective teaching and learning. However, there are still gaps in the competencies and quality of educators, which affect the uneven distribution of educational quality. To address this issue, the Indonesian government has implemented a certification policy for teachers and lecturers as a form of competency recognition and an effort to enhance professionalism. This study aims to examine the teacher and lecturer certification policy, indicators of educator professionalism, and the impact of certification implementation on the quality of education. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various scientific sources, including journals, academic books, and official regulations. The findings indicate that certification aims to ensure educator competence, improve the quality of learning, and encourage continuous professional development. Educator professionalism is reflected in the mastery of knowledge, pedagogical and professional skills, and a mental attitude that upholds ethics and responsibility. Certification provides positive impacts, such as increased work motivation, educator performance, learning quality, and recognition of the teaching profession. Nevertheless, the implementation of certification also presents several challenges, including administrative burdens, discrepancies between policy objectives and implementation, and increased workload, which may reduce educators’ focus on teaching. Therefore, policy strengthening and improvements in certification implementation are needed to maximize its benefits and effectively contribute to enhancing educator professionalism and national education quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the hypnoteaching method on students’ learning motivation in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) classes at MAN 1 Banda Aceh. The background of this study stems from the low level of students’ learning motivation in IRE classes, as evidenced by a lack of participation, attention, and active engagement in the learning process. The research method employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 60 eleventh-grade students and analyzed using simple regression to determine the magnitude of the relationship between the independent variable (hypnoteaching) and the dependent variable (student learning motivation). The results indicate that the hypnoteaching method has a positive and significant effect on student learning motivation. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.518 indicates that 51.8% of the variation in students’ learning motivation is influenced by the application of hypnoteaching, while the remainder is influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. These findings confirm that positive suggestion techniques, empathetic communication, and emotional reinforcement in hypnoteaching can enhance students’ interest, attention, and spiritual engagement in Islamic Education (PAI) learning. This study concludes that hypnoteaching is an effective and relevant pedagogical approach for enhancing students’ learning motivation in religious education. Further research is recommended to employ a mixed-methods approach and expand the scope of the study to yield a more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of hypnoteaching across various educational contexts.

Abstract

Islamic education plays a strategic role in shaping the character and civilization of the people, thus requiring comprehensive review of policies governing it. The study of Islamic education policy is not merely technical-administrative but also contains strong normative, philosophical, and social dimensions. This article aims to analyze the main approaches in the study of Islamic education policy and their relevance to the formulation and implementation of Islamic education policy in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research. Data were obtained from books, journal articles, and relevant policy documents, then analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques through the stages of collection, classification, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that Islamic education policy requires an integrative approach encompassing religious, social, philosophical, epistemological, and pedagogical approaches. Public policy models also play a crucial role in bridging the ideal values ​​of Islam with the reality of policy implementation. In conclusion, an effective Islamic education policy is one that is grounded in Islamic values, responsive to social dynamics, and capable of integrating spiritual, intellectual, and moral aspects into the educational process.

Abstract

The low motivation among some students to memorize the Quran at SDTQ Nurun Nabi in Banda Aceh certainly did not arise without cause; rather, there are factors influencing it, one of which is a memorization method that can make students feel bored and sleepy. Therefore, this study offers a solution by employing a storytelling method for students in memorizing the Quran at SDTQ Nurun Nabi Banda Aceh. This research adopts a qualitative approach and is of a descriptive nature. The research subjects consist of the principal of SDTQ Banda Aceh, Quran memorization teachers, and students. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: the application of the storytelling method in memorizing the Quran at SDTQ Nurun Nabi Banda Aceh is carried out through the presentation of Quranic stories prepared by the teachers to facilitate students in memorizing the Quran. Teachers first prepare the stories and visual aids that can assist them in presenting the prepared stories to facilitate the Quran memorization process, which takes place over two days: Tuesday and Friday. The impact of the storytelling method on students’ motivation to memorize the Qur’an at SDTQ Nurun Nabi in Banda Aceh is an increase in motivation to retain the Qur’anic memorization; students are motivated to expand their Qur’anic memorization, and they read stories about Islamic figures while memorizing the Qur’an. The challenges faced by teachers in applying the storytelling method to enhance students’ motivation to memorize the Qur’an at SDTQ Nurun Nabi Banda Aceh include laziness among those memorizing the Qur’an, poor time management, and the use of recitation recordings as a memorization aid.
