Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the optimization strategies of reading corners in increasing students' reading interest at MI Darul Muta'allimin Patianrowo Nganjuk. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. Results indicate that the active role of teachers in motivating and guiding students effectively enhances reading interest. However, limited access to relevant and engaging books presents a primary challenge in managing the reading corner. Support from parents and literacy communities also plays a crucial role in enriching reading materials. Additionally, a comfortable and attractive reading corner environment, along with structured and regular literacy programs, positively influences students' interest in reading activities. Optimizing the reading corner through increased teacher involvement, appealing reading spaces, and parental engagement is expected to sustainably improve students' reading interest and literacy skills. This study concludes that reading corner optimization with collective support from various parties can be an effective strategy for fostering a culture of literacy among students at MI Darul Muta'allimin

Abstract

In today's increasingly competitive era, Islamic education faces significant challenges in maintaining its relevance and enhancing its competitiveness. Many Islamic educational institutions struggle to attract public interest, both in terms of academic quality and institutional management. One potential solution lies in visionary leadership combined with a strong corporate culture. Visionary leadership not only sets the institution’s direction and goals but also fosters innovation and strategies that adapt to changing times. Meanwhile, a robust corporate culture establishes a solid institutional identity, strengthens loyalty, and creates a conducive environment for educational growth and development. This study employs the library research method by analyzing various relevant literatures to understand the relationship between these concepts in the context of transformative Islamic education. The findings indicate that the synergy between visionary leadership and corporate culture enhances institutional competitiveness, broadens its appeal to the public, and ensures sustainability amid globalization. The study’s implications emphasize the need for managerial reform in Islamic educational institutions to remain relevant, innovative, and highly competitive in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of English films as authentic media for developing listening skills among learners of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). In the EFL context, listening plays a foundational role in the acquisition of other language skills. The research adopts a qualitative approach using library research methods, drawing on relevant literature and previous studies as the basis for analysis. The findings indicate that films provide authentic linguistic input, including features such as intonation, accent, idiomatic expressions, and everyday conversational language. Moreover, the visual components of films—such as facial expressions, body language, and social settings—enhance listening comprehension more effectively than conventional materials. These observations are supported by theories such as Dual Coding and Multimedia Learning, which emphasize the importance of integrating verbal and visual elements in the learning process. Nevertheless, the implementation of film-based listening instruction presents certain challenges, including speech rate, cultural differences, and the need for contextually appropriate task design. Therefore, the use of films in listening pedagogy must be carefully planned to align with learning objectives and learner needs

Abstract

The integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is a great mandate that must be preserved through the integration of scientific truth, philosophy, and religion as the main pillars in building a sovereign, just, and dignified nation. Scientific truth plays a role in providing rational foundations, empirical data, and practical solutions to address global issues such as climate change, food security, energy, and public health, while philosophy serves as an ethical guide that ensures national policies remain aligned with the values of justice, freedom, and unity as reflected in Pancasila. On the other hand, religious truth provides spiritual and moral foundations that maintain harmony in religious diversity while preventing the threats of radicalism, extremism, and national disintegration. In the context of Indonesia’s plurality, which encompasses diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, and beliefs, the synergy between science, philosophy, and religion becomes the key to creating social harmony, strengthening solidarity, and managing diversity as a source of national strength rather than a threat. This study also emphasizes the importance of inclusive education, interdisciplinary dialogue, and religious moderation as strategies to reinforce social cohesion, increase national competitiveness, and ensure sustainable development. With this holistic approach, NKRI has a solid foundation to face the dynamics of globalization without losing its identity and national character. Therefore, safeguarding NKRI is not only about protecting territorial boundaries but also about nurturing the nation’s social integrity, morality, and spirituality so that it remains an inclusive, tolerant, advanced, and harmonious state.

Abstract

The Contestation of National Legal Politics and Islamic Law in the Context of the Dissolution of Civil Society Organizations, Ideological Regulation, and Strategic Policies in Indonesia. The main focus is directed toward the revocation of the legal status of Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI), the discourse on the Pancasila Ideology Guidelines Bill (RUU HIP), and the Omnibus Law policy. This study employs a qualitative research method with a normative legal approach, examining statutory regulations, academic literature, and Islamic legal doctrines. The analysis is carried out through legislative, conceptual, historical, and comparative approaches to identify both the convergences and divergences between national legal politics and Islamic legal politics. The findings reveal that the dissolution of HTI can be understood as a form of national legal politics aimed at safeguarding the sovereignty of the Pancasila ideology, while simultaneously aligning with the principle of Maslahah Mursalah in Islamic law to prevent potential harm. The discourse on RUU HIP reflects the legislature’s effort to strengthen the national ideology but risks generating controversy due to the potential politicization of Pancasila. Meanwhile, the Omnibus Law underscores the orientation of national law toward economic efficiency, though it has faced criticism for allegedly weakening social and environmental protections. Thus, the contestation between national legal politics and Islamic legal politics highlights the importance of integrating the legitimacy of positive law with the principle of public welfare (maslahah) in formulating regulations
