Abstract

The Surakarta Fire Department faces challenges in manually recording team activities, leading to delays in validation, data inconsistency, and difficulties in analysis. To address these issues, this study designed a web-based information system to digitize personnel activity reporting. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method with the Laravel framework and MySQL database. Data collection methods included interviews, observation, and literature study. The system supports four levels of users with different access rights: Personnel, Team Leader, Platoon Commander, and Division Head. Through this system, reporting can be conducted online with step-by-step validation and PDF report output. Initial testing showed that the system successfully accelerated the reporting process, reduced data errors, improved efficiency, and supported decision-making within the Surakarta Fire Department.

Abstract

The manual management of fire protection inspection data at the Surakarta City Fire Department has caused delays and errors in recording, thus impacting the effectiveness of risk mitigation. This study aims to address these problems by designing and building a web-based inspection management information system. This research adopts the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, with data gathered through observation, literature review, and interviews. The system was built using PHP, the Laravel framework, and a MySQL database. It enables officers to record inspection data digitally, manage archives automatically, and produce reports that are easily accessible to management. The implementation has proven effective in enhancing efficiency, speeding up the reporting process, and improving data accuracy and security to support better decision-making.

Abstract

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, including in Indonesia. Early detection of heart disease risk is crucial to prevent more severe complications and improve patients' quality of life. This study aims to apply the Logistic Regression algorithm to build a data-driven heart disease prediction model. The dataset used is from Kaggle, with 1,025 patient data and 14 attributes covering risk factors such as age, gender, blood pressure, cholesterol, maximum heart rate, and others. The research process was conducted using the CRISP-DM approach, which includes business understanding, data exploration, preprocessing, modeling, evaluation, and model testing. The preprocessing stage includes data cleaning, encoding categorical variables, standardizing numeric data, and dividing the data into training and test data. The model was developed using the Python programming language and the scikit-learn library, then evaluated using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, confusion matrix, and ROC-AUC. The evaluation results showed that the Logistic Regression model was able to provide good prediction results, with an accuracy of 0.93, a precision of 0.93, a recall of 0.96, and an F1-score of 0.95. With this performance, this model can be used as a tool for medical personnel in early detection of heart disease risk and supporting more effective and efficient decision-making.

Abstract

Fires are disasters that can occur suddenly and cause significant losses to both human lives and property. Conventional detection systems are generally limited to smoke or temperature alarms, making them less accurate and often slow in providing warnings. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-based fire detection system capable of providing real-time early fire warnings. The system employs an ESP32 microcontroller connected to a DHT22 sensor to measure temperature and humidity, an MQ-2 sensor for flammable gas detection, and a flame sensor for direct flame detection. Sensor data are transmitted to the Firebase Real-time Database and forwarded as automatic notifications via the Telegram application. Testing was conducted on 400 data samples covering both fire and non-fire conditions, with performance evaluation using Precision, Recall, Accuracy metrics, and End-to-End Delay measurement. The results show an accuracy of 91%, precision of 88.55%, recall of 93.19%, and an average notification delivery delay of 2.804 seconds. These findings indicate that the system can detect fires effectively and responsively on a small scale, with potential for further development through additional sensors and testing in more complex environments.

Abstract

This research aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automatic water pump monitoring and control system. The system utilizes an ESP32 microcontroller connected to an ultrasonic sensor to measure water level and a turbidity sensor to detect water clarity. The pump is automatically activated when the water level drops below a specified threshold and deactivated when the tank is full. Furthermore, when the turbidity value exceeds a certain limit (e.g., >40 NTU), the system sends notifications to the user via the Blynk application. In addition, notifications are also sent through a Telegram bot, allowing users to receive alerts instantly without needing to open the Blynk app. Key data such as water level distance, NTU value, pump status, and water condition are displayed locally on a 16x2 LCD and remotely on the Blynk dashboard.System testing was conducted using samples of clean water, tea, and milk coffee to represent varying levels of turbidity. The results showed that the system effectively detected different turbidity levels and automatically controlled the pump based on the water level. This system offers an efficient real-time solution for monitoring water quality and can be applied in places such as Islamic schools (TPQ), educational institutions, or households.

Abstract

The Surakarta City Fire Department has a major responsibility in firefighting and rescue operations. Currently, the process of managing training and simulation requests is still carried out manually, often through official correspondence. This manual approach leads to various issues such as disorganized data management, the potential for overlapping or missed schedules, errors in recording dates, insufficient communication between officers, and difficulties in managing training history and evaluation results.This study aims to design and develop a web-based information system for managing training and simulation requests to address these challenges. The system is expected to simplify the management of reservation requests, minimize scheduling errors, and improve transparency and accountability. The system development method used is Rapid Application Development (RAD), which includes the following stages: requirements planning, user design, construction, and cutover. Data were collected through direct observation at the Surakarta City Fire Department, interviews with the Head of the Department and the Department Secretary, and literature studies. The system will be developed using the PHP programming language and the Laravel framework, with a MySQL database. With this system, the Surakarta City Fire Department is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training and simulation management at the department.

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on various sectors, including education. One of its implementations is the application of a web-based New Student Admission (PPDB) system to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the registration process. SMK Darun Nadwah As-Salam has previously used a manual system with paper forms, which often causes delays and data recording errors. This condition encourages the need to develop a more effective and integrated web-based PPDB system. This study applies the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Waterfall model, which consists of requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance stages. The application was developed using the Laravel framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL database, with Visual Studio Code as the editor and Laragon as the local server. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the web-based PPDB application can simplify the registration process, reduce input errors, and speed up data processing for prospective students. Moreover, the system can be accessed online, allowing applicants to register without visiting the school in person. In conclusion, the implementation of a web-based PPDB application at SMK Darun Nadwah As-Salam can improve the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of the new student admission process, while supporting digital transformation in education.

Abstract

This study develops a web-based employee performance evaluation prototype using the Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale (BARS) method in higher education institutions. The system reduces evaluator subjectivity through behavior-specific indicators and weighted scoring. Rapid Application Development (RAD) was applied, supported by continuous stakeholder feedback. Reliability testing of the questionnaire showed a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.850, indicating strong consistency. Core features include behavior indicator management, evaluation visualization, and weighted score calculation. Findings show the system enhances objectivity, transparency, and accountability in performance appraisal.

Abstract

The culinary creative sector within Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) plays a vital role in supporting the local economy, yet its development is constrained by limited digital marketing and insufficient product education. This research introduces SmartKuliner, a cross-platform mobile application prototype intended to strengthen digital promotion and consumer learning for culinary MSMEs. Developed using the Research and Development (R&D) method with a prototyping approach, the application features interactive multimedia such as product catalogs, educational materials, and branding support. Usability evaluation through the System Usability Scale (SUS) confirmed its practicality and ease of use. The results show that SmartKuliner provides MSMEs with an accessible tool to expand market opportunities and enhance product knowledge.

Abstract

This research was conducted to develop a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to provide student organization recommendations at Universitas Bina Darma. The Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was used to evaluate compatibility based on students’ interests, talents, and preferences. The K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm was applied to classify the SAW score results in order to determine the final recommendation. In line with its domain, the system was developed using an Agile Feature-Driven Development (FDD) approach in a gradual and iterative manner, utilizing the Laravel 12 framework. The research results showed that the system was capable of accurately recommending Student Activity Units (UKM) for first- to fourthsemester students. The recommendation process was carried out by combining the SAW method to obtain the top three UKM and the KNN algorithm for final classification when students chose to participate in only one UKM that best matched their historical answer patterns.
