Abstract

West Java Province is one of the regions in Indonesia with fluctuating mortality rates each year. The high number of deaths in various areas, with diverse characteristics of death types and causes, encourages the need for in-depth analysis to map the pattern of mortality cases. This study aims to analyze mortality data in West Java Province based on the type of death, cause of death, and number of cases using the K-Means Clustering method. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the official Open Data Jawa Barat portal for the period 2019 to 2023, with a total of 506 mortality records that have undergone pre-processing and data transformation stages. The analysis process was carried out through clustering using the K-Means algorithm, with the optimal number of clusters determined by the Elbow Method, and the clustering quality evaluated using the Silhouette Score. The results showed that the mortality data could be grouped into three main clusters, each with different characteristics in terms of the number of deaths, types, and causes. Cluster 0 consists of data with a high number of deaths, mostly occurring in urban areas. Cluster 1 contains data with moderate numbers and a variety of causes, while Cluster 2 represents areas with low mortality rates spread across several districts. The obtained Silhouette Score value of 0.52 indicates that the quality of cluster separation is quite good. In addition to clustering results, data visualization showed that Dengue Fever has been the dominant cause of death in the last three years, with Cianjur Regency recorded as the region with the highest mortality cases. This study is expected to serve as a reference for formulating public health policies and mortality prevention strategies in West Java Province.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a web-based inventory information system to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy at Toko Linnia Collection. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a prototyping approach. The system was developed using PHP programming language and MySQL database, and includes key features such as automated stock recording, PDF reporting, and multi-user role management. The implementation results show a 65% improvement in recording efficiency, a significant reduction in data entry errors, and easier system access for both the owner and employees. Based on blackbox testing, all system features function as expected. In conclusion, the system effectively addresses the real needs of inventory management in MSMEs and provides a practical and reliable solution for inventory digitalization.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of QUIC protocol implementation in optimizing real-time video streaming performance on 5G networks. The method used is quantitative descriptive with a survey approach involving 150 5G network users and performance testing of QUIC protocol compared to TCP in various streaming scenarios. The results show that QUIC protocol provides significant improvements in latency (average 23% lower), throughput (15% higher), and packet loss recovery (40% faster) compared to traditional TCP. Quantitative data shows 78% of respondents experienced improved video streaming quality with QUIC implementation, while 85% rated connection stability as "very good". Technical analysis shows that QUIC can reduce Head-of-Line Blocking and improve multiplexing efficiency on 5G networks. This research provides important contributions to network protocol development for real-time applications on 5G infrastructure.

Abstract

It is undeniable that the presence of lecturers in the implementation of learning activities in the classroom is still very much needed by students, especially for learning that requires communication between lecturers and students. As in the learning process in the Electrical Engineering Department, Kupang State Polytechnic. To ensure the presence of lecturers during lectures, a system is needed that can ensure that lecturers have actually been present in class for scheduled lectures. So to overcome these obstacles, a real-time lecturer attendance information system application is needed during lectures. The system overview is that lecturers can take attendance if they have entered the class for the scheduled time at that time. Furthermore, the lecturer will provide validation as a form of confirmation that the lecturer of the course at that time is really present on a web-based basis. The results can help attendance more efficiently in handling student and lecturer attendance. In addition, this attendance system application presents attendance information to the lecturer, lecturer, admin, and head of study program online. This study aims to design and build a website-based lecturer attendance application, with the research method used being the waterfall method with stages that will be passed by the author including analysis, design, coding, and testing.

Abstract

This study presents the development of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based flood detection and early warning system designed to improve the accuracy and response time of conventional flood monitoring methods. The system integrates a water level sensor and ESP32-CAM module, managed by an ESP32-WROVER microcontroller, to monitor water levels in real time. Data is transmitted wirelessly and visualized on a web platform built with PHP and MySQL. When water levels exceed a predefined threshold, the system automatically sends alerts via the Telegram messaging app. Testing shows high precision with a margin of error under 0.3 cm and notification delivery within three seconds. The system’s ability to combine numerical data and live imagery enhances situational awareness and accessibility. Overall, the solution offers an efficient and innovative approach to flood risk mitigation using IoT technology.

Abstract

This study focuses on the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based automated system for controlling temperature and humidity in swallow houses. The object of the study is a prototype swallow house that functions to simulate the natural environmental conditions in swallow breeding buildings. The main problem in this research is the instability of temperature and humidity, which affects the comfort and productivity of swiftlets, as well as the management process, which is still carried out manually and inefficiently. The purpose of this research is to design a system that can monitor and control temperature and humidity automatically and in real-time to create an ideal environment for swiftlets. This system uses a DS18B20 temperature sensor and a DHT22 humidity sensor connected to an ESP32 microcontroller and controlled through a web-based interface. In addition, the system is equipped with a DFPlayer Mini module to play swallow call sounds and a notification feature through the Telegram application. Test results show that the system can respond accurately to changes in temperature and humidity, perform automatic watering when conditions are not ideal, and play swift sounds according to a schedule. The system also successfully displays data in real-time and sends notifications to users. In conclusion, this system has proven effective in automating swift house environment management, improving efficiency, and has the potential to increase swift nest production.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate an Android-based new student registration application to optimize administrative processes at Pondok Modern Daarul Istiqomah Air Gegas. The Research and Development (R&D) method was employed, utilizing a prototype approach consisting of five stages: needs analysis, design, iterative evaluation, system implementation, and black-box testing combined with user acceptance testing (UAT). Results confirmed that all core features including registration, form submission, data validation, and announcement of selection outcomes were fully functional and responsive. Featuring an intuitive interface and real-time database integration, the application effectively reduced administrative delays, data redundancy, and input errors commonly associated with manual systems. The study concludes that adopting Android mobile technology significantly enhances the efficiency, accuracy, and transparency of the new student admission process, while supporting the digital transformation of Islamic boarding schools toward more adaptive and professional management.

The practice of chili farming in Indonesia is confronted with a number of challenges, including extreme climate conditions and limitations in irrigation management and harvest timing. The objective of this research is to design an Internet of Things (IoT) system capable of automatically and in real-time monitoring and controlling the environmental conditions of chili plants. The issues identified pertain to the suboptimal design of the manual irrigation system and the ad hoc assessment of fruit maturity. Abstract

Every year, vocational high schools in Kudus Regency produce competitive graduates in the national and international job markets, because vocational high school graduates must be equipped with technical skills and soft skills. However, students face a dilemma in determining the next step in choosing a study interest or career. In addition, several factors influence student interests, one of which is family beckground, so that students who were initially sure will become unsure of their interests. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to classify student interests. The use of classification methods with the naïve bayes algorithm and feature selection with forward selection was chosen in this study. Classification model testing was carried out three times with a comparison of training data and test data (90:10, 80:20, and 70:30), where the results obtained had an average accuracy value of 72.85%, an averagr precision velue of 77.75%, and an average recall value of 86.43%. the classification results are continued with the application of forward selection to find influential attributes, and the results of feature selection show that major attribute, achievement attributes, and mathematics value attributes have an influence on student interest.

Abstract

Modern music streaming platforms offer millions of songs, creating a challenge for users in discovering content that matches their tastes. This research addresses this problem by designing a music recommendation system using a Hybrid Collaborative Filtering approach. This method combines the strengths of Item-Based (track similarity) and User-Based (playlist similarity) filtering for higher accuracy. Utilizing 100,000 playlists from Spotify's Million Playlist Dataset (MPD), the system was developed through data preprocessing, cosine similarity calculation, and weighted score combination. The evaluation was designed using metrics like Precision@K and Hit Ratio. The results demonstrate that the hybrid model can provide thematically relevant song recommendations based on an input playlist, proving its effectiveness in personalizing the music discovery experience for users.
