Abstract

Bandeha Village, a region with a high coconut production rate, is developing coconut farming amidst the potential for coconut processing into copra, oil, and other products. Conversely, coconut farmers in Bandaeha Village prefer to sell young coconuts, citing various considerations to increase coconut farming yields. This study aims to determine the factors influencing farmers' decisions to sell young coconuts in Bandaeha Village, Molawe District, North Konawe Regency. The informants in this study were all five coconut farmers who sell their harvest as young coconuts in Bandaeha Village. The method used in this study was qualitative analysis, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate five main factors influencing farmers' decisions to sell young coconuts in Bandaeha Village, Molawe District, North Konawe Regency: market demand, faster harvest time, lower maintenance costs, climate and weather conditions, and short-term capital needs.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the correlation between farmer capacity and the efficacy of rice farming in Labulu-Bulu Village, Parigi District, Muna Regency. The population under study consists of 324 rice farmers residing in Labulu-Bulu Village. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a margin of error of 15%, resulting in a sample of 39 respondents. The present study employs a quantitative research method. The data collection techniques employed in this study encompassed a range of methods, including in-depth interviews, documentation analysis, systematic literature reviews, and the administration of surveys. The research variables of interest were farmer capacity and the success of rice farming. The analysis was executed through the implementation of quantitative inferential analysis, specifically non-parametric statistics. The results of the study show that the capacity of rice farmers is proven to be in the high category, both in terms of knowledge, attitude, and skills, thereby supporting the success of rice farming, which is also in the high category in terms of social, economic, and environmental dimensions. The relationship between farmer capacity and farming success shows a moderate correlation, which means that the higher the capacity of farmers in managing their farms, the greater the success achieved. The success of farming is not only determined by production factors, but also by the capacity of individual farmers, which includes the ability to adapt to technological changes, sustainable resource management, and the application of environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Improving farmer capacity is key to promoting the success of rice farming, which is not only oriented towards production but also towards socio-economic sustainability and environmental preservation.

Abstract

National development strategies prioritize villages by implementing autonomy policies and fortifying Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) as economic institutions grounded in local potential. These enterprises play a pivotal role in enhancing community welfare, curbing inequality, and fostering village economic autonomy. However, various challenges persist in their management, including budgetary limitations and institutional capacity. The objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the role of BUMDes in the procurement of agricultural production inputs in Maperaha Village, Sawerigadi District, West Muna Regency. The number of subjects in this study was 15, selected using purposive sampling. The data were collected through a combination of interviews, observational studies, and documentation techniques. The research variables were the role and factors inhibiting BUMDes in the procurement of agricultural production inputs. The data analysis method employed in this study was descriptive analysis. The results indicated that the role of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) of Maperaha Village in the procurement of agricultural production inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, agricultural tools, and pesticides, was still low and not yet optimal. The procurement of production inputs has not yet been fully aligned with the needs of farmers, nor has it been distributed equally among the community. The condition is influenced by several factors, including limited facilities and infrastructure, low community participation, and a weak human resource capacity among BUMDes managers and management.
