Abstract

Climate change has become global concern, including to the business and commercial sector. This phenomenon occurs due to direct impact to financial institutions, especially banks. The risks could be categorized mainly into two forms, namely physical and transition. Banks have a significant role in financing economic activities because the debt portion is generally greater than equity. Banks need to consider the risk of climate change when evaluating financing. Banks can anticipate this from the start in the financing evaluation phase, where one of the approaches used is the 5C principle. This research aims to answer how climate change risks can be internalized in the principal stage of financing evaluation. The method used is desk study research using secondary data sourced from literature and benchmarks conducted by banks. The result of this research shows potential risks arise on climate change that affect the 5C principles, including the financial risk of climate change which results in rising sea levels can affect the value of assets that are collateral for debtors and decrease the debtor's capacity in fulfilling its obligation to the bank. Banks need to prepare their capacity to internalize climate change risks into bank risk management so that financial risks from a commercial perspective are well managed.

Abstract

This study investigates how managerial ownership and audit quality relate to the financial performance of banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and examines whether agency costs measured through the Operating Expense Ratio moderate both relationships. Drawing on panel data from 19 listed banks across the 2022–2024 period (57 firm-year observations) and estimating a Random Effects Model through Moderated Regression Analysis, the results indicate that neither managerial ownership nor audit quality (proxied by affiliation with a Big Four accounting firm) exerts a statistically significant direct effect on Return on Assets. Agency costs, however, emerge as a significant moderator in both relationships, though the direction of that moderation differs: agency costs amplify the influence of managerial ownership on financial performance while dampening the influence of audit quality. Taken together, these results imply that governance mechanisms do not enhance bank profitability uniformly; rather, their impact hinges on how efficiently a bank operates. The study contributes to agency theory by reframing agency costs as a boundary condition rather than a mere direct predictor of performance, offering a more unified account of why prior governance–performance findings have been inconsistent. From a practical standpoint, the results suggest that banks under heavier operating-cost pressure stand to gain more from managerial ownership incentives, whereas the payoff from audit-quality investments is greatest for banks that already operate efficiently.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of social commerce has increased the need to understand how technological, informational, and relational features jointly shape consumers’ purchase evaluations. This study examines Augmented Reality (AR) experience, Content Quality, and Brand Interactivity as predictors of Purchase Intention among Indonesian Instagram Shopping users. A quantitative cross-sectional survey was conducted with 202 respondents aged 18–35 years who had used Instagram Shopping and encountered an AR-supported shopping experience during the preceding three months. Measurement quality was assessed using item-level diagnostics, Cronbach’s alpha, exploratory factor analysis, and parallel analysis, followed by multiple linear regression with HC3 heteroskedasticity-consistent standard errors. The regression model was statistically significant, F(3, 198) = 134.863, p < 0.001, and explained 67.1% of the variance in Purchase Intention. Content Quality showed the strongest positive association (β = 0.439, p < 0.001), followed by AR experience (β = 0.341, p < 0.001), whereas Brand Interactivity showed a positive but nonsignificant association (β = 0.111, p = 0.276). Measurement diagnostics indicated limited construct differentiation: reliability coefficients ranged from 0.616 to 0.651, and parallel analysis retained one dominant factor. Accordingly, the results are interpreted as exploratory predictive evidence rather than confirmatory validation of fully distinct latent constructs. Within this predictive framing, decision-relevant content and functional AR visualization were more strongly associated with Purchase Intention than Brand Interactivity considered as an independent predictor. The study contributes to social-commerce research by jointly examining technological, informational, and relational predictors while providing practitioners with a cautious empirical basis for prioritizing content quality and evaluation-oriented AR.

Abstract

This study examines how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosure shapes two distinct performance outcomes among Indonesian banks — internal profitability, captured through Net Profit Margin (NPM), and external market valuation, captured through Price Earning Ratio (PER) — for the 2019–2025 window on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). A purposive sample of 25 listed banks was tracked across seven years, producing 175 firm-year observations that were tested with covariance-based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) in AMOS. Both the measurement and structural models met the required validity, reliability, and fit thresholds. All six proposed paths (H1–H6) were supported: each ESG pillar exerted a positive, statistically significant influence on NPM and PER alike. Among the three, Environmental disclosure carried the strongest pull on market valuation, whereas Social and Governance contributed more evenly across both outcomes. Taken together, the results lend empirical weight to Stakeholder, Legitimacy, Agency, and Signaling Theory as complementary lenses for understanding how sustainability reporting translates into corporate performance within an emerging-market banking context, and they point to practical steps regulators and bank managers can take to turn ESG disclosure into a lever for stronger profitability and investor appeal.

Abstract

Women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth, yet their development is constrained by limited managerial capabilities, particularly in financial management, marketing, human resources, and business digitalization. This study aims to assess the management capabilities of women-owned MSMEs in Binjai City and develop an SDG-based management capability framework to strengthen women's economic empowerment and inclusive growth. A mixed-method approach was employed involving 60 women-owned MSMEs affiliated with IWAPI Binjai City. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, percentage scores, and categorical classification, while qualitative data from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions were analyzed using thematic analysis. Quantitative and qualitative findings were integrated through triangulation to formulate the framework. The results show that marketing management achieved the highest score at 70.8% and was categorized as good, followed by financial management at 66.4% and human resource management at 63.7%, both categorized as moderate. Business digitalization recorded the lowest score at 58.5%. Regarding digitalization levels, 41.7% of respondents were classified as low, 38.3% as moderate, and 20.0% as high. Based on the integrated findings, the study proposes an SDG-based management capability framework linking financial strengthening, digital marketing, human resource development, and business digital transformation with SDG 5, SDG 8, and SDG 10. The main contribution is an empirically grounded framework that integrates managerial capability assessment with SDG-oriented interventions for women-owned MSMEs, providing a practical foundation for strengthening competitiveness, women's economic empowerment, and inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Financial performance plays a crucial role in supporting company sustainability and profitability within the tobacco manufacturing industry. Therefore, understanding the factors influencing profitability is crucial, particularly Total Assets Turnover and Current Ratio. This study aims to analyze the influence of Total Assets Turnover and Current Ratio on Return on Investment at PT Hanjaya Mandala Sampoerna Tbk. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data gathered from the company's annual financial reports. The study sample comprised 10 years of observation. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression conducted through the EViews 14 software. The results showed that Total Assets Turnover had a significant effect on Return on Investment, while Current Ratio also had a significant effect on Return on Investment. Furthermore, Total Assets Turnover and Current Ratio simultaneously had a significant effect on Return on Investment. The R-squared value of 0.838453 indicates that 83.84% of the variation in Return on Investment can be explained by these two independent variables. These findings suggest that enhancing company profitability can be achieved through optimizing asset efficiency and managing liquidity effectively.

Abstract

The banking sector, as a financial intermediary institution, has a strategic role in encouraging economic growth through Credit Disbursement. Interest rate dynamics, the availability of Third-Party Funds (TPF), and the quality of credit assets reflected in Non-Performing Loans (NPL) are factors that can affect the capacity of bank credit disbursement, especially in banks that focus on MSME financing, such as PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of Interest Rates, Third-Party Funds (TPF), and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) on Credit Disbursement at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk for the 2015–2025 period. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach using secondary time-series data. The analysis techniques include classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, the coefficient of determination, t-tests, and F-tests processed using SPSS. The results show that, partially, Interest Rates and Non-Performing Loans (NPL) do not have a significant effect on Credit Disbursement, while Third-Party Funds (TPF) have a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables have a significant effect on Credit Disbursement, with an Adjusted R Square value of 97.7%. In conclusion, Third-Party Funds (TPF) are the dominant factor determining the credit disbursement capacity of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk, while credit risk management and interest rate policies still need to be considered in maintaining sustainable credit growth.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is an important factor in improving the quality of education because it is related to teachers’ motivation, commitment, and performance in carrying out their professional duties. Productive teachers in Vocational High Schools (SMK) have complex job characteristics, making job satisfaction potentially related to Work-Life Balance and job crafting. This study aims to analyze the contribution of Work-Life Balance and job crafting to the job satisfaction of productive teachers in public vocational high schools in Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach with a causal research design. The population consisted of 109 productive teachers from SMK Negeri 3 Surabaya and SMK Negeri 6 Surabaya, selected using total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPL. The results showed that Work-Life Balance and job crafting contribute to the job satisfaction of productive teachers in public vocational high schools in Surabaya. Work-Life Balance was the most dominant variable in contributing to job satisfaction. An R² value of 0.870 indicates that the two variables explain 87% of the variation in job satisfaction, while the remaining 13% is explained by other factors outside the research model. These findings can serve as consideration for schools in improving teacher job satisfaction through strengthening Work-Life Balance and job crafting.

Abstract

MSME financial decision-making takes place under conditions of limited resources, market uncertainty, and social relationships, making it difficult to explain solely through formal financial considerations. This study aims to identify the characteristics of MSME financial decision-making, explain the process through the perspective of human-centered sustainable finance, and analyze how local wisdom operates as a contextual mechanism in business sustainability. The study employs constructivist grounded theory involving 30 MSME owners or managers in Banyuwangi. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited observations, documentation, and field memos and analyzed iteratively through coding, constant comparison, theoretical sampling, category development, and conceptual integration. The analysis generated nine overarching categories integrated into the core category of “Sustaining business continuity through adaptive, relational, and prudent financial decisions aligned with available capabilities.” Human-centered sustainable finance in this study represents a decision process that considers actual business capabilities, financial feasibility, impacts on affected stakeholders, and sustainability consequences. Local wisdom does not function as a universal determinant but operates contextually through morality, trust, identity, appropriateness, and market values. The model is cyclical because decision consequences become experiences that reshape assessments of business capabilities and inform subsequent decisions. The study contributes by integrating financial mechanisms, business capability boundaries, human relationships, learning, and sustainability outcomes into a substantive decision process.
