Abstract

Tourism is a sector with the potential to boost the regional economy, yet its contribution to the Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD) of Klaten Regency remains relatively low despite the presence of Umbul (natural spring) tourist destinations that serve as a regional icon. This study aims to formulate a competitiveness strategy, analyze the influence of tourism business governance on destination competitiveness, and identify down streaming opportunities for Umbul tourism into value-added products and services. The study employed a mixed-method approach combining SWOT analysis, multivariate regression analysis, and down streaming analysis. Data were collected through a survey of 385 tourists, interviews with destination managers, field observations, and documentation studies at four Umbul tourist destinations in Klaten Regency. The results show that Umbul tourism is positioned in Quadrant I (growth strategy), with an IFAS value of 1.90 and an EFAS value of 2.00, indicating substantial strengths and opportunities for destination development. Regression analysis reveals that tourism governance has a strong and significant relationship with destination competitiveness (R = 0.745; p < 0.05). In addition, Umbul tourism holds down streaming potential through the development of educational tourism, underwater services, local culinary offerings, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), cultural festivals, and integrated tour packages. These findings indicate that strengthening governance, enhancing human resource capacity, and developing the tourism value chain can improve competitiveness and generate broader economic value added for the community.

Abstract

In the National Health Insurance (JKN) era, hospitals are required to maintain a balance between service quality and financial sustainability. This study aims to analyze the performance of RS Windu Husada Badung in 2024 based on unit cost, profitability, efficiency, and service quality. A quantitative descriptive approach with a case study design was employed. Data were analyzed using Activity-Based Costing (ABC) to determine unit costs; GPM, NPM, and ROA ratios to measure profitability; BOR, ALOS, TOI, and BTO indicators to assess efficiency; and patient satisfaction to evaluate service quality. The results reveal a discrepancy between unit costs and service rates in several units—particularly the operating room—resulting in cost deficits. Conversely, the hospital's financial performance is considered satisfactory, with a GPM of 75.61%, NPM of 2.15%, and ROA of 1.36%. Efficiency indicators met ideal standards, and service quality was rated as good based on patient satisfaction. These findings indicate that the hospital's primary challenges lie in cost control and rate optimization rather than operational efficiency or service quality. From a managerial perspective, the hospital needs to periodically evaluate unit costs, review the alignment of rates with cost structures, and optimize the management of deficit-generating service units to enhance financial sustainability without compromising the quality of healthcare services.

Abstract

The present study investigates how financial literacy, financial anxiety, and self-control contribute to students' financial management behavior among undergraduates at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Jember. A quantitative approach employing an explanatory research design was used to investigate the proposed associations among the study variables. The research population comprised 4,478 diploma and undergraduate students enrolled in the faculty. The required sample of 367 respondents was determined using the Slovin formula, after which the participants were selected through a proportionate stratified random sampling procedure to ensure adequate representation of each subgroup within the population. Primary data were collected through a structured online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings demonstrate that financial literacy and self-control positively and significantly influence students' financial management behavior, whereas financial anxiety does not have a statistically significant effect. The research outcomes indicate the importance of strengthening financial literacy and self-control to promote responsible financial management and improve students' financial decision-making.

Abstract

The growth of digital financial services has spurred the emergence of various investment alternatives, including digital gold savings, which are becoming increasingly accessible to Generation Z. This study aims to analyze the relationships between perceived financial value, hedonic value, and the fear of missing out (FOMO) regarding the intention of Generation Z to save in digital gold. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing a survey method with 97 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of IBM SPSS. The results indicate that both perceived financial value and hedonic value have a positive and significant influence on the intention to save in digital gold. Meanwhile, while FOMO shows a positive relationship, its effect is not statistically significant. Collectively, the three variables significantly explain the intention to save in digital gold, with a coefficient of determination of 54.3%. These findings suggest that considerations of financial benefits and positive user experiences play a stronger role in explaining the intention to save in digital gold than FOMO does. The study offers implications for digital gold savings service providers to emphasize financial benefits and user experience when developing digital marketing strategies targeting Generation Z.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of sustainability reporting on firm value, with profitability as a mediating variable, among energy sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. Sustainability reporting is measured using the Sustainability Report Disclosure Index (SRDI), profitability is proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), and firm value is measured using Price-to-Book Value (PBV). This study applies a quantitative approach using secondary data from annual financial statements and sustainability reports. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 95 observations. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression and mediation testing with the Sobel test. The results indicate that sustainability reporting has a positive and significant effect on profitability and firm value. Profitability also has a positive and significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, profitability significantly mediates the relationship between sustainability reporting and firm value, demonstrating a partial mediation effect. These findings suggest that sustainability reporting enhances firm value not only through positive market perceptions but also indirectly by improving corporate profitability. The novelty of this study lies in integrating sustainability reporting, profitability, and firm value within a mediation framework in Indonesia’s energy sector during the 2020–2024 period. The findings highlight the importance of improving sustainability disclosure quality, transparency, and consistency while embedding sustainability practices into business strategies to strengthen financial performance, investor confidence, and long-term sustainable value creation.

Abstract

Customer loyalty has become a strategic factor for sustaining competitiveness in the Hajj and Umrah travel industry, where service quality and customer experience play an essential role in influencing customers’ perceptions and future behavioral intentions. This study aims to analyze the effect of customer experience on customer loyalty, with customer satisfaction serving as a mediating variable, at PT Muhsinin Tour & Travel. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed using purposive sampling, resulting in 107 respondents who had previously used the company's Umrah travel services. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal that customer experience has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, while customer satisfaction significantly influences customer loyalty. However, customer experience does not have a significant direct effect on customer loyalty. Furthermore, customer satisfaction fully mediates the relationship between customer experience and customer loyalty, indicating that customer experience enhances loyalty primarily by increasing customer satisfaction. These findings highlight the strategic importance of customer satisfaction in transforming positive service experiences into long-term customer loyalty. Therefore, PT Muhsinin Tour & Travel should prioritize delivering high-quality service experiences that consistently improve customer satisfaction to strengthen customer loyalty and maintain its competitive advantage in the Hajj and Umrah travel industry.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of the early retirement program, employee competence, and organizational culture on company performance, with knowledge sharing as a moderating variable at PT XYZ. The study is grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV), which emphasizes strategic organizational resources as sources of sustainable competitive advantage. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. Data were collected from 168 employees selected through simple random sampling from a population of 289 employees. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that the early retirement program, employee competence, and organizational culture have positive and significant effects on company performance. Furthermore, knowledge sharing significantly moderates the relationship between employee competence and company performance, indicating that knowledge-sharing practices strengthen the contribution of employee competencies to organizational performance. However, knowledge sharing does not significantly moderate the relationships between the early retirement program and organizational culture on company performance. The novelty of this study lies in integrating the three antecedent variables into a single model while examining knowledge sharing as a moderating mechanism. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of continuous competency development, knowledge-sharing practices, and a collaborative organizational culture. Companies should also implement systematic knowledge-transfer mechanisms when managing early retirement programs to minimize the loss of critical organizational knowledge and support sustainable company performance.

Abstract

Poverty is a complex and multidimensional issue, particularly in Indonesia's underdeveloped regions. This study focuses on poverty vulnerability, defined as the risk of a household falling into poverty due to social, economic, or environmental shocks. Utilizing data from 26 underdeveloped districts, this research identifies determinant factors such as access to clean water, lighting, education, infrastructure, and geographical conditions. Discriminant analysis is applied to evaluate the contribution of these variables in predicting poverty vulnerability. The results indicate that nearly half of the underdeveloped regions are in a state of high vulnerability, caused by development inequality, lack of infrastructure, and low quality of human resources. This study emphasizes the importance of more inclusive policies to improve access to basic services and infrastructure in underdeveloped regions to reduce vulnerability to poverty and achieve sustainable development targets. These findings provide critical insights for designing more targeted policy interventions in alleviating poverty in Indonesia's underdeveloped areas.

Abstract

The growth of digital transactions through digital wallets has increased shopping convenience, but has also potentially encouraged impulsive buying behavior among Generation Z. While digital wallet use is relevant to the context of impulsive buying, this study treats it only as a descriptive variable. The study also describes the level of digital wallet use among respondents. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The sample consisted of 384 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Descriptive statistics were used to describe financial literacy, digital wallet use, self-control, and impulsive buying, while SEM-PLS was used to test the relationships among financial literacy, self-control, and impulsive buying. The descriptive analysis showed that financial literacy, digital wallet use, self-control, and impulsive buying are all in the high category. The hypothesis testing results showed that financial literacy had no significant effect on impulsive buying, whereas self-control had a significant effect in reducing impulsive buying. In addition, self-control was shown to moderate the relationship between financial literacy and impulsive buying, so that the effectiveness of financial literacy in reducing impulsive behavior depended on an individual's ability to control themselves. These findings indicate that improving financial knowledge needs to be balanced with strengthening self-control in order to encourage more rational consumption behavior in the era of digital transactions.
