Abstract

Purpose: This paper examines the role of collaboration and partnership in enhancing global tertiary education, focusing on bridging disparities in research capacity, funding, infrastructure, and academic standards across continents. Research Methodology: A qualitative approach was employed, analyzing literature and case studies on international academic cooperation, including joint research initiatives, staff and student mobility, and curriculum harmonization. Results: The study finds that strategic collaboration significantly boosts research productivity, improves quality assurance, fosters innovation, and expands global opportunities. Partnerships in joint research, mobility programs, and capacity-building initiatives help address global challenges, such as climate change and public health crises. Conclusions: The paper concludes that sustained collaboration among tertiary institutions, governments, industries, and international organizations is essential for promoting equity, competitiveness, and global knowledge production in the 21st century. Limitations: The study is limited by the availability of comprehensive data on global partnerships, and further empirical research is needed to assess the impact of specific collaborative efforts. Contributions: This paper highlights the importance of strategic academic partnerships and offers insights into how collaboration can advance global tertiary education, fostering equity, innovation, and knowledge production.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines accreditation and quality assurance in Nigeria's tertiary education system, focusing on the challenges affecting the accreditation process and how they hinder its effectiveness in maintaining academic standards. Research methodology: This study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, utilizing a review of relevant literature and policy documents to investigate the accreditation process, its challenges, and the impact of these factors on the quality of education in Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Results: The findings highlight several challenges, including inadequate funding, a shortage of qualified academic staff, poor infrastructure, the politicization of the accreditation process, corruption, weak monitoring, and rapid institutional expansion. These factors significantly hinder the effectiveness of the accreditation process and its ability to ensure academic quality. Conclusions: Although accreditation remains a crucial mechanism for maintaining academic standards, its effectiveness in Nigeria is severely constrained by systemic and institutional factors. These challenges call for urgent policy and administrative reforms, including improved funding, better infrastructure, and stronger monitoring mechanisms, to enhance the accreditation process and ensure that it functions as intended. Limitations: This study primarily focuses on the challenges in the accreditation process within Nigeria’s tertiary education system and may not fully address solutions or offer a comparative perspective with other countries' systems. Contributions: This study contributes to the understanding of the critical role of accreditation in Nigeria’s higher education system and emphasizes the urgent need for reforms to improve the process and overall quality of education in the country.

Abstract

Purpose This paper examines the adaptation of Trait-Factor Theory for entrepreneurial career guidance in undergraduate education, focusing on the alignment of students' personal traits with suitable entrepreneurial paths in a rapidly changing economic landscape. Research Methodology: The study utilizes a qualitative approach, analyzing Trait-Factor Theory’s application through literature review and case studies of institutions integrating entrepreneurial guidance into their curricula. Results: Findings indicate that assessing personality, cognitive, motivational, and behavioral factors help personalize career paths for students. The study highlights the importance of a tailored matching system that aligns students’ traits with entrepreneurial opportunities, boosting their potential for success in entrepreneurship. Conclusions: The study concludes that adapting Trait-Factor Theory to entrepreneurship education enhances individualized support for students, equipping them to navigate the complexities of modern entrepreneurship. It suggests incorporating experiential learning and curriculum integration for effective career guidance. Limitations: Limitations include the qualitative nature of the research, based on selected case studies, which may not fully represent global undergraduate programs. Additionally, the traditional Trait-Factor Theory may need further adjustments to meet the evolving needs of entrepreneurial education. Contributions: This paper contributes by proposing a revised application of Trait-Factor Theory in entrepreneurship education, emphasizing a developmental, inclusive, and context-sensitive approach. It advocates for continuous program evaluation and cross-sector collaboration to better prepare students for entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the role of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in preparing pre-service teachers for effective teaching in digitally mediated classrooms. Research Methodology: This study employed a mixed-methods approach in which quantitative data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring technology integration self-efficacy among 238 pre-service teachers from three universities in North Central Nigeria, while qualitative data were obtained from reflective journals and focus group discussions to explore participants’ experiences and understanding of technology integration in teaching and learning. Results: The findings show that TPACK-based coursework improves pre-service teachers’ confidence and understanding of integrating technology into teaching, especially through collaborative, reflective, and practical learning experiences. Conclusions: The study concludes that the systematic integration of TPACK within teacher education curricula is essential. Combining technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge can better prepare future teachers to effectively teach in increasingly digital learning environments. Limitations: The study is limited to three universities within one region (North Central Nigeria), which may restrict the generalizability of the findings. In addition, the data rely largely on self-reported measures, which may introduce subjective bias, and the study does not directly assess long-term classroom teaching practices. Contributions: This study provides empirical evidence on the effectiveness of the TPACK framework and emphasizes the importance of integrating technology, pedagogy, and content knowledge to enhance pre-service teachers’ digital competence.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effects of manual communication methods on the listening proficiency of students with hearing impairment in special schools in Lafia Metropolis, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Research Methodology: A quasi-experimental design was used with 57 students with hearing impairment from two schools in Malaysia. The experimental group (n=15) received instruction using the manual communication method, including sign language, finger spelling, gestures, and visual cues, while the control group (n=14) received oral communication instruction emphasizing speech and lip reading. Listening proficiency was measured using a validated 100-mark Listening Proficiency Assessment Tool, with a Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of 0.82. Data were analyzed using t-tests and two-way analyses of variance. Results: The experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in post-test scores (M = 72.40, SD = 8.30) vs. (M = 58.20, SD = 7.90), with a large effect size (Cohen's d = 1.76). Age of hearing loss onset and parental communication mode influenced the effectiveness of communication methods. Conclusions: Manual communication significantly enhances listening proficiency among students with hearing impairment and should be prioritized in special schools. Teacher training programs should integrate comprehensive manual communication instructions. Limitations: The study's limitations include a small sample size and focus on a single geographic area. Contributions: This study highlights the effectiveness of manual communication in improving listening proficiency among students with hearing impairment and emphasizes the need for targeted teacher training.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effects of employee motivation and financial literacy on financial management effectiveness, with knowledge management as a mediating variable. Research Methodology: This study was conducted in hospitals in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. A quantitative explanatory design was employed. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire distributed to employees involved in financial and administrative activities through purposive sampling. The analysis was performed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS to test both direct and mediating relationships. Results: Employee motivation and financial literacy positively and significantly affect financial management effectiveness. Both variables significantly influenced knowledge management. Furthermore, knowledge management positively and significantly affects financial management effectiveness and mediates the relationship between employee motivation, financial management effectiveness, and financial literacy. Conclusions: The study concludes that Improving financial management effectiveness in hospitals requires enhancing employee motivation and financial literacy and strengthening knowledge management practices to support knowledge sharing, utilization, and organizational learning. Limitations: This study was limited to hospitals in Bandar Lampung and applied a cross-sectional design, which may limit the generalizability of the findings and the ability to infer causal relationships. Contributions: This study contributes to the literature by integrating employee motivation, financial literacy, and knowledge management into a unified model of financial management effectiveness in the healthcare industry. In practice, the findings provide insights for hospital management in designing strategies to improve human resource capabilities, strengthen financial literacy, and develop effective knowledge management systems.

Abstract

Purpose: The main problem put forward in this study is to determine the socio-psychological characteristics of the formation of stress tolerance in young managers. Based on this goal, the levels of manifestation of stress tolerance in a young manager were studied. Research Methodology: A socio-psychological questionnaire was developed and conducted to determine stress tolerance in young managers. The questionnaire consisted of four blocks: the causes of stress, emotional experiences, thoughts about the consequences of stress, and strategies for managing stress. The research was conducted with participants from the leadership training program at the Academy of Public Administration in Uzbekistan. Results: The study found that 36.2% of respondents believe that lack of sleep, 12.0% have headaches, and 24.8% lack of mood as the primary stress factors. Additionally, 11.1% of young leaders consider the negative attitude of colleagues, 25.1% excessive fatigue, and 10.3% lack of peace in the family as stress-inducing factors. Conclusions: The findings highlight the importance of stress tolerance in enhancing the leadership qualities of young managers. Effective stress management can improve work efficiency, reduce the incidence of illness, and lead to better communication and leadership. Limitations: The study was limited to a specific group of young managers in Uzbekistan, and the findings may not be applicable to other regions or contexts. Contributions: This study contributes to the understanding of stress management and its role in developing effective leadership qualities in young managers, with implications for leadership training programs.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the socio-psychological characteristics of constructiveness in leadership and its role in fostering teamwork among young managers. This highlights the importance of constructive interactions in promoting effective leadership and collaboration within organizational settings. Research Methodology: This study adopts a qualitative and theoretical approach, analyzing the existing literature in management, psychology, and organizational behavior. It examines various models of interpersonal interaction and incorporates conflict management techniques to assess their effectiveness in fostering constructive team work. Results: The study revealed that constructiveness fosters effective teamwork by promoting transparent communication, trust, open dialogue, and collaborative decision-making. It also highlights that conflict management techniques, such as compromise and problem solving, significantly improve team cohesion and organizational performance. Conclusions: Constructiveness is fundamental to modern leadership, as it fosters a positive organizational environment, motivates employees, and ensures long-term organizational growth. By applying the principles of constructiveness, teams can improve their performance and resolve conflicts more efficiently. Limitations: The study’s findings are based on theoretical analysis, and empirical validation is required to assess the practical application of constructivity in real-world management scenarios. Contributions: This study contributes to our understanding of constructiveness as a fundamental managerial skill by linking emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to team success.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to compare the representation of social values in Russian, English, and Uzbek proverbs, identifying both universal and culture-specific features of social values in these languages. Research Methodology: The research employs comparative, linguacultural, and semantic analysis methods, with contextual interpretation. The study analyzes proverbs related to values such as labor, family, honesty, collectivism, and individualism from corpus and lexicographic sources. Results: The study found that while universal values are present in all three languages, their interpretation and emphasis differ across cultural and historical contexts. Russian proverbs focus on collectivism and moral-ethical values, English proverbs emphasize individualism and pragmatism, and Uzbek proverbs highlight traditional and family-centered values. These variations reflect the unique national mentality and socio-cultural experience of each culture. Conclusions: Proverbs reflect societal norms and values, with differences in interpretations depending on the culture. The study emphasizes the influence of cultural context in shaping these values and demonstrates the importance of proverbs in understanding different worldviews. Limitations: The study may be limited by the selected corpus of proverbs, and its conclusions might not fully represent the diversity of proverbs in each language. Contributions: This study contributes to comparative linguistics and linguacultural research, providing insights into how social values are represented in language, useful for intercultural language teaching.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explores the formation of ethical resilience among students in the context of digital transformation. It integrates historical pedagogical values with modern leadership practices to identify strategies for protecting students from "information attacks" and ethical erosion. Research Methodology: A mixed-methods approach was used, combining historical analysis with a survey of 120 students and 15 department heads at Andijon State Pedagogical Institute (ADPI). Data were analyzed using SPSS, focusing on perceptions of ethical resilience and leadership impact. Results: The study found that students exposed to historical pedagogical modules showed greater ethical resilience, with higher moral discernment in evaluating information sources. Leadership practices emphasizing "Visible Integrity" and "Ethical Transparency" were particularly effective in improving students’ media immunity. Conclusions: The research highlights that ethical resilience is a dynamic process, shaped by both national heritage and transformational leadership. The findings suggest that digital leadership must evolve to include "Ethical Mentorship" alongside digital literacy. Limitations: The study is limited to ADPI and may not be generalizable across other institutions. Future research should expand to different educational contexts. Contributions: This research contributes to the understanding of how historical and modern educational practices can integrate to enhance ethical resilience, offering a framework for higher education to foster ethical and digital literacy.
