Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the role of investment law in Indonesia's economic recovery efforts, particularly under Law No. 25 of 2007. Indonesia, as a developing country, emphasizes high economic growth as a measure of success in enhancing societal welfare. Investment, through capital investment, is crucial for increasing capital stock, production capacity, and economic growth, thereby creating jobs. Methodology: The study uses a normative legal research method with an analytical descriptive approach, analyzing regulations related to Law No. 25/2007, relevant literature, and data from the internet. Results: The findings indicate that legal certainty significantly influences investment decisions. A country with clear, fair, and well-enforced laws attracts more investors, which is essential for sustainable economic growth. Recent studies highlight the benefits and challenges of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indonesia. Conclusion: Investment law strengthens legal certainty, boosts investor confidence, and supports Indonesia’s sustainable economic recovery through continuous reforms. Limitations: This study is limited to normative legal analysis with secondary data, excluding empirical evidence and international comparative perspectives. Contribution: Government efforts—regulatory reforms, legal enforcement, and infrastructure—foster a conducive investment climate. Continuous legal updates are essential to sustain investor confidence, ensure effectiveness, and support Indonesia’s economic growth.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine proposed business and marketing strategy including segmenting, targeting & positioning (STP) and marketing mix (7P) for Telkomsel One Method: This study combined qualitative and quantitative research by distributing questionnaires directly to 253 respondents. A non-probability sampling technique was used. The primary data source in this research was obtained directly from questionnaire respondents. The method used SPSS version 23. Results: The research results based on the cluster analysis show that there are three distinct segments of Telkomsel One: budget-conscious users, convenience seekers, and tech enthusiasts. The results of the analysis become the basis for new segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies for Telkomsel One. Strategies encompass adjusting product lines and pricing, conducting several promotions and strategic partnerships, using omnichannel approaches, frontliner skills training, streamlining processes, and integrating IT Tools to deliver excellent service to customers. Conclusions: The study concludes that effective implementation of STP and the marketing mix (7P) enhances Telkomsel One’s ability to meet diverse customer needs while maintaining competitiveness in the rapidly evolving telecommunications market. Limitations: This study is limited by its reliance on non-probability sampling, which may affect generalizability. Additionally, the research only focused on respondents in a specific context, limiting the broader market representation. Contribution: This research offers a practical framework for telecommunications companies to apply integrated marketing strategies in the era of fixed-mobile convergence, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and business sustainability.

Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the influence of motivation, organizational commitment, and workload on the job satisfaction of regional officials, with competence as an intervening variable at the Regional Financial and Asset Agency of Riau Islands Province. In 2023, delays occurred in 11,380 files (49.26%) from SPP to SP2D, indicating the urgency to improve employee satisfaction and performance. Research/methodology: Primary data were collected from 143 employees and analyzed using SEM-PLS. Motivation, commitment, and workload were examined as predictors of competence, while competence was tested as a mediator toward job satisfaction. Results: Motivation showed no significant direct effect on job satisfaction. However, motivation, organizational commitment, and workload significantly influenced competence, which in turn strongly mediated their impact on job satisfaction. The findings confirm that higher competence enhances employees’ satisfaction and performance, emphasizing the importance of competence development to minimize delays and strengthen service quality. Conclusions: Job satisfaction is not directly determined by motivation but is mediated by competence, organizational commitment, and workload. Competence development becomes a strategic factor in improving overall satisfaction and organizational performance. Limitations: The study was limited to one institution in Riau Islands Province, thus reducing generalizability. Comparative studies across multiple agencies and provinces are recommended. Contribution: This study enriches HRM literature by confirming the mediating role of competence in public sector organizations. Practically, it guides policymakers to improve satisfaction and performance through competency development, balanced workload distribution, and organizational commitment programs.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the influence of fiscal loss compensation and corporate governance, proxied by independent commissioners and the audit committee, on tax avoidance, with foreign ownership as a moderating variable in Indonesian manufacturing companie. Research/methodology: A quantitative design was applied using purposive sampling of 65 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024, producing 280 valid observations. Data were collected from financial statements accessed via the IDX and company websites. The analysis employed descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple regression, and moderated regression analysis (MRA). Results: The findings reveal that fiscal loss compensation significantly increases tax avoidance, while independent commissioners and the audit committee reduce it. Foreign ownership does not directly affect tax avoidance but moderates the relationships. Specifically, foreign ownership weakens the negative effects of independent commissioners and the audit committee on tax avoidance, whereas it does not moderate the relationship between fiscal loss compensation and tax avoidance. Conclusions: Corporate governance mechanisms remain crucial in mitigating tax avoidance, but the presence of foreign shareholders creates complex dynamics that may undermine governance effectiveness. Limitations: The study focuses only on manufacturing firms within a five-year period and relies on secondary data, limiting generalization across industries and contexts. Contribution: This research contributes to the literature by integrating fiscal loss compensation, corporate governance, and foreign ownership into tax avoidance studies in emerging markets. Practically, the findings offer guidance for policymakers and investors to enhance governance mechanisms and reduce tax avoidance risks.

Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the influence of communication, teamwork, and work culture on employee performance, with self-efficacy as an intervening variable. This study focuses on the employees of the Riau Islands Provincial Bureau of Procurement of Goods and Services. Research Methodology: A quantitative approach was employed with a sample of 103 employees selected through purposive sampling method. Data were collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 24.0 to test both direct and indirect relationships among variables. Results: The findings revealed that communication, teamwork, and work culture significantly influenced employee performance. Additionally, all three factors positively affected self-efficacy, which in turn mediated their relationship with performance. The mediation analysis confirmed that self-efficacy strengthens the impact of communication, teamwork, and work culture on the performance outcomes. Conclusions: Effective communication, cohesive teamwork, and supportive work culture are critical for enhancing employee performance. Self-efficacy is a vital psychological mechanism that translates organizational dynamics into improved outcomes. Limitations: This study was limited to one regional bureau with a relatively small sample size, which restricts the generalizability of the findings to broader contexts. A cross-sectional design also prevents causal inferences. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence of the mediating role of self-efficacy in public sector organizations. The results can guide policymakers and managers in developing strategies that integrate communication, teamwork, and cultural reinforcement to optimize their performance.
