Abstract

This study was inspired by the observation that many Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in suburban areas continue to face challenges in maximizing their profits, even though they have access to capital and actively conduct promotional activities. The main objective of this research is to analyze the influence of working capital and promotional expenditures on the profitability of MSMEs operating in Tajur Halang Subdistrict, Bogor Regency. The study utilizes primary data obtained from respondents through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Forms. Using the Slovin formula, a sample of 86 respondents was determined. The analytical methods applied include classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS version 27. The results of the analysis reveal that: (1) the t-count value for business capital exceeds the t-table value, indicating that business capital significantly affects profit; (2) the t-count value for promotional expenses is lower than the t-table value, suggesting that promotional expenses do not significantly affect profit; and (3) both business capital and promotional expenses have a simultaneous significant effect on profit, as shown by the F-count value being higher than the F-table value. This result shows that while promotional costs have little effect on profits in MSMEs in the suburbs, efficient capital management is a crucial component of raising profitability. The uniqueness of this study stems from its integration of financial and marketing variables within the context of suburban MSMEs, offering valuable insights for developing strategies to improve profitability and ensure long-term business sustainability

Abstract

This research explores the influence of the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) and Non-Performing Financing (NPF) on Return on Assets (ROA) at Bank Syariah Indonesia over the 2021-2024 period. The study adopts the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) approach, which is suitable for analyzing latent variables simultaneously, even when the sample size is relatively small and the data distribution deviates from normality. Data were obtained from Bank Syariah Indonesia’s quarterly financial statements, sourced from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the bank’s annual reports. The empirical findings indicate that FDR has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on ROA, while NPF exerts a significant negative influence on ROA. The structural model demonstrates an R² value of 0.745, suggesting that 74.5% of the variation in ROA is explained by the two independent variables. Additionally, the model’s Goodness of Fit index reaches 0.928, indicating strong predictive relevance and model robustness. These results highlight the critical role of managing financing risk and optimizing intermediary functions to enhance the profitability of Islamic banking institutions. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on Islamic finance performance and offers practical insights for policymakers and financial managers in improving asset efficiency through better risk control and strategic financial intermediation.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the utilization of Village Funds (DD) for nagari (village) infrastructure development and its impact on the Village Development Index (IDM) and poverty rates in Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra. The research employed a mixed-methods approach using secondary data analysis for all 61 nagari and a qualitative multi-case study on selected nagari based on their IDM status. Secondary data collected covered DD allocation, types of infrastructure, IDM scores, and the number of poor residents from 2017 to 2019. The results indicate that DD allocation in Sijunjung was predominantly directed toward the Development Sector (averaging 89.58%), primarily for the construction of village roads. The analysis concludes that the DD allocation for infrastructure does not have a directly significant implication for increasing IDM or reducing the poverty rate in Sijunjung Regency. These findings suggest that the impact of infrastructure investment requires a longer time frame and is influenced by various factors beyond the DD policy for sustainable poverty alleviation

Abstract

The growing expansion of Indonesia’s Islamic finance industry has created an urgent need for a robust and standardized framework for Islamic accounting. Despite the increasing demand, the implementation of Islamic accounting still faces conceptual, regulatory, and operational challenges that hinder its optimal practice across financial and non-financial institutions. This study aims to examine the development and implementation of Islamic accounting in Indonesia by identifying its major challenges, emerging opportunities, and the overall impact on institutional performance and compliance with Islamic principles. This research employs a literature-based method by synthesizing findings from scholarly articles that discuss the conceptual foundations, regulatory frameworks, sectoral applications, and technological developments related to Islamic accounting. The findings reveal that the growth of Islamic accounting is strongly supported by regulatory advancements and institutional commitment, yet constrained by limited professional competence, inconsistent application of standards, and inadequate technological infrastructure. The results also indicate that the adoption of Islamic accounting enhances transparency, strengthens governance, and improves stakeholder trust, demonstrating its strategic role in reinforcing ethical and Sharia-compliant financial practices. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive integration of theoretical, regulatory, and practical perspectives, as well as its identification of emerging research directions, particularly in digital transformation and the modernization of Sharia-based reporting practices. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the position of Islamic accounting within Indonesia’s evolving economic landscape.

Abstract

Changes in work patterns due to digitalization and the pandemic have encouraged service companies, including online delivery services, to adopt a hybrid work model. In Mandailing Natal, this model presents challenges such as limited infrastructure, team coordination, and dynamic market demand. Therefore, adaptive management strategies are required to maintain optimal performance. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with managers, couriers, and customers from three online delivery service companies in Mandailing Natal. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that adaptive management strategies in the hybrid work model are implemented through three main steps: (1) adjusting the work structure between online and offline, (2) providing flexibility in scheduling and courier work rotation, and (3) utilizing digital technology for monitoring and communication. In addition, local factors such as geographical conditions and consumer habits are key considerations in adapting these strategies. Adaptive management strategies have been proven to improve operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction in online delivery services in Mandailing Natal. The adaptively managed hybrid work model is not only a solution to changing business environments but can also serve as a sustainable work pattern for digital-based services in regions with infrastructural limitations.
