Abstract

Perkembangan Islam sejak awal berdirinya hingga saat ini telah melahirkan berbagai macam ideologi, termasuk sekularisme. Ide ini sebelumnya tidak pernah terdengar dalam Islam karena Islam tidak mengakui polarisasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Islam adalah ajaran agama yang beraneka segi dengan ijtihad sebagai prinsip pedomannya. Kemunculan paham sekularisme Barat merupakan salah satu gagasan terbaru dan paling signifikan dalam Islam. Ada sebagian orang yang berpendapat bahwa sekularisme Islam tidak bertentangan (konstruktif). Namun banyak juga yang berpendapat bahwa Islam dan Sekularisme tidak sejalan karena sikap tentang spiritualitas dan agama (non- agama dan nonspiritualisme) sangat terkait dengan keyakinan Sekularisme. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif (penelitian perpustakaan) dengan analisis deskriptif, yang melibatkan analisis data yang tersedia atau beberapa keterangan sebelum penulis menganalisisnya. Penulis menyimpulkan dengan mengatakan bahwa pandangan Islam dalam kitab Sekularisme sebenarnya tidak bertentangan dengan syarat-syarat tersebut di atas. Diantaranya, pengetahuan dan pemahaman dapat didasarkan secara bebas; Artinya, tidak dibatasi, termasuk perlunya berlandaskan agama. Namun setelah menjadi modifikasi atau amalan, maka menjadi syariat.The development of Islam from its inception until now has given birth to various ideologies, including secularism. This idea was previously unheard of in Islam because Islam does not recognize polarization in everyday life. Islam is a multifaceted religious teaching with ijtihad as its guiding principle. The emergence of Western secularism is one of the newest and most significant ideas in Islam. There are some people who argue that Islamic secularism is not contradictory (constructive). However, many also argue that Islam and Secularism are incompatible because attitudes about spirituality and religion (non-religion and non-spiritualism) are closely related to Secularist beliefs. In this research, the author uses a qualitative approach (library research) with descriptive analysis, which involves analyzing available data or some information before the author analyzes it. The author concludes by saying that the Islamic views in the book Secularism do not actually conflict with the conditions mentioned above. Among them, knowledge and understanding can be based freely; this means it is not limited, including the need to be based on religion. However, after it becomes a modification or practice, it becomes sharia.

Abstract

In the context of tafsir studies, especially those concerning the language approach has a very significant role. History records that the reading of the Quranic text with a language approach has been done since the time of the Prophet, companions, tabi'in and continues from generation to generation until now. One of the linguistic discourses that became the theme of Muhammad Syahrur's debate was about the synonymity of the Quran. The synonymity of the meaning of a word in any language is a common thing. Likewise, the Quran is inseparable from this element of synonymity, because - even though the Quran as a transcendent revelation of God, has been formed into Arabic text. In understanding the Quran, Muhammad Syahrur tries to study interpretation with theological reconstruction and traditional interpretation. For Muhammad Syahrur, the language of the Quran remains 'tauqifi' even though its content is 'interpretable', and contextualization is in the text itself through linguistic structures. Therefore, Muhammad Syahrur considers that there is no synonymity in language, especially in the Quran. Pendekatan bahasa dalam konteks kajian tafsir memiliki peranan yang sangat signifikan. Sejarah mencatat bahwa pembacaan teks Al Quran dengan pendekatan bahasa telah dilakukan sejak masa Rasulullah, sahabat, tabi’in dan terus berlanjut dari generasi ke generasi hingga sekarang. Salah satu diskursus kebahasaan yang menjadi tema perdebatan Muhammad Syahrur adalah mengenai sinonimitas Al Quran. Sinonimitas makna sebuah kata dalam bahasa manapun merupakan hal yang lazim terjadi. Demikian halnya dengan Al Quran yang tidak terlepas dari unsur sinonimitas ini, sebab - meski Al Quran sebagai wahyu Tuhan yang bersifat transenden, telah terbentuk ke dalam teks berbahasa Arab. Dalam memahami Al Quran Muhammad Syahrur mencoba mengkaji penafasiran dengan rekonstruksi teologi dan penafsiran tradisional. Bagi Muhammad Syahrur bahasa Al Quran tetap ‘tauqifi’ walau dalam kandungannya ‘interpretable’, dan kontekstualisasi ada pada teks itu sendiri melalui struktur linguistik. Karena itu, Muhammad Syahrur menilai bahwa tidak ada sinonimitas dalam bahasa, khususnya pada Al Quran

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas makna teologis dari tradisi punggahan dan pintan dalam menyambut bulan Ramadan pada masyarakat Jawa di Dusun XI Paya Lombang, Tebing Tinggi. Tradisi ini tidak hanya merupakan warisan budaya, tetapi juga menjadi sarana komunikasi spiritual antara manusia dan Tuhan, serta memperkuat nilai-nilai sosial keagamaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Data dikumpulan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Tradisi punggahan meliputi ziarah kubur, mandi bunga, doa bersama, dan makan keluarga, sementara pintan berfokus pada doa dan penghormatan anak kepada orang tua yang telah wafat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua tradisi tersebut memiliki makna teologis yang kuat, mencerminkan hubungan vertikal dengan Allah (hablumminallah) dan hubungan horizontal dengan sesama (hablumminannas). Nilai-nilai seperti rasa syukur, penyucian diri, ukhuwah Islamiyah, ketakwaan, dan pelestarian budaya Jawa yang Islami muncul dalam praktik ini. Tradisi ini tidak hanya memperkuat solidaritas sosial, tetapi juga menunjukkan relevansi budaya lokal dalam membentuk praktik keagamaan yang kontekstual dan bermakna dalam masyarakat modern   This study discusses the theological meaning of the punggahan and pintan traditions in welcoming the month of Ramadan in the Javanese community in Dusun XI Paya Lombang, Tebing Tinggi. This tradition is not only a cultural heritage, but also a means of spiritual communication between humans and God, as well as strengthening socio-religious values. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The tradition of punggahan includes grave pilgrimage, flower bathing, joint prayer, and family meal, while pintan focuses on prayer and children's respect for their deceased parents. The results of the study show that both traditions have strong theological meanings, reflecting a vertical relationship with Allah (hablumminallah) and a horizontal relationship with others (hablumminannas). Values ​​such as gratitude, self-purification, Islamic brotherhood, piety, and the preservation of Islamic Javanese culture emerge in these practices. This tradition not only strengthens social solidarity, but also demonstrates the relevance of local culture in shaping contextual and meaningful religious practices in modern society.

Abstract

Hukum negara mengatur bahwa perceraian hanya sah jika dilakukan melalui Pengadilan Agama. Namun, di Banuhampu, banyak kasus talak di luar pengadilan tetap terjadi. Keyakinan masyarakat yang berbeda, sebagian meyakini talak sah secara agama, sementara lainnya percaya talak hanya sah jika dilakukan melalui pengadilan, menyebabkan kesewenang-wenangan beberapa suami dalam menjatuhkan talak di luar pengadilan. Kedua pandangan ini menciptakan ketidakpastian hukum dan merugikan hak-hak perempuan serta anak. Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) mengeluarkan fatwa yang mengakui sahnya talak di luar pengadilan asalkan dilaporkan ke Pengadilan Agama, menjadi landasan pengakuan talak di luar pengadilan. Penelitian ini mengkaji latar belakang talak di luar pengadilan di Banuhampu dan bagaimana pengakuan terhadap talak di luar pengadilan dapat memberikan kemaslahatan. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data primer diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pihak terkait dan tokoh masyarakat, sementara data sekunder dikumpulkan dari sumber relevan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pengelompokan, penggabungan, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengakuan talak di luar pengadilan, melalui pendekatan maslahah mursalah, memenuhi tiga syarat: membawa manfaat rasional, tidak bertentangan dengan syariat, dan melindungi pihak terdampak seperti istri dan anak. Meskipun bukan kebutuhan primer, pengakuan talak termasuk dalam kategori hajiyyat yang penting untuk menyelesaikan masalah perceraian di Banuhampu. Bagi tokoh masyarakat, pengakuan talak melalui pengadilan menyelaraskan hukum agama dengan hukum negara, menciptakan kepastian hukum, melindungi hak perempuan dan anak, serta mencegah konflik di masa depan. Abstract Write State law stipulates that divorce is only valid if it is done through the Religious Court. However, in Banuhampu, many cases of off court divorce continue to occur. The different beliefs of the community, with some believing that divorce is valid religiously, while others believe that divorce is only valid if done through the courts, has led to the arbitrariness of some husbands in imposing divorce outside the courts. Both views create legal uncertainty and harm the rights of women and children. The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued a fatwa recognizing the validity of off court divorce as long as it is reported to the Religious Court, providing a foundation for the recognition of out-of-court divorce. This study examines the background of off court talak in Banuhampu and how the recognition of off court talak can provide benefits. Using a qualitative approach, primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews with relevant parties and community leaders, while secondary data was collected from relevant sources. Data analysis was conducted by grouping, combining, and drawing conclusions. The results show that off court talak recognition, through the maslahah mursalah approach, fulfills three conditions: bringing rational benefits, not contradicting the Shari'ah, and protecting affected parties such as wives and children. Although it is not a primary need, divorce acknowledgment falls into the category of hajiyyat which is important for resolving divorce issues in Banuhampu. For community leaders, divorce recognition through the court harmonizes religious law with state law, creates legal certainty, protects the rights of women and children, and prevents future conflicts.

Abstract

Islamic Left is an idea in a large project called at-Turats wa at-Tajid which Hasan Hanafi has been working on since attending lectures at Sorbone University, France. Islamic Left is projected as an idea to realize a social revolution in the order of Islamic society so that it can get out of colonialism and poverty. and being left behind and being able to fight against Western hegemony over the Eastern world. The Islamic Left itself is a big project that can be realized through three main steps, namely, by renewing the treasures of classical Islamic scholarship, opposition to Western civilization and national unity from various Islamic backgrounds, thought and religion. As a product of thought that has spread to the public sphere, the Islamic Leftist view initiated by Hasan Hanafi has received a lot of criticism from various Islamic figures, especially regarding his efforts to renew classical Islamic treasures. This article aims to reveal and analyze certain themes in the renewal of classical Islamic treasures promoted by Hasan Hanafi as the first step to realizing the Islamic Left as well as describing several criticisms of his thinking. This research uses descriptive methods to describe these concepts by conducting library research to obtain the sources.   Kiri Islam merupakan sebuah gagasan dalam proyek besar bernama at-Turats wa at-Tajid yang digarap oleh Hasan Hanafi semenjak mengikuti perkuliahan di Univeritas Sorbone, Perancis.Kiri Islam diproyeksikan sebagai gagasan untuk mewujudkan revolusi social dalam tatanan masyarakat Islam sehingga bisa keluar dari penjajahan,kemiskinan dan ketertinggalan serta mampu melawan hegemoni Barat terhadap dunia Timur.Kiri Islam itu sendiri merupakan proyek besar yang dapat diwujudkan melalui tiga langkah  utama yaitu, dengan melakukan pembaharuan khazanah keilmuan Islam klasik,penentangan terhadap peradaban Barat dan persatuan kebangsaan dari berbagai latar belakang aliran islam,pemikiran dan agama.Sebagai sebuah produk pemikiran yang telah tersebar keranah public,pandangan Kiri Islam yang dicetuskan oleh Hasan Hanafi telah banyak mendapat kritikan dari berbagai tokoh Islam terutama terkait usaha  pembaharuan khazanah Islam klasik yang dilakukannya.Artikel ini bertujuan  untuk menyingkap dan menganalisa tema-tema tertentu dalam pembaharuan khazanah Islam klasik yang diusung oleh Hasan Hanafi sebagai langkah awal untuk mewujudkan Kiri  Islam serta menggambarkan beberapa kritikan terhadap pemikirannya tersebut.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk menggambarkan konsep-konsep tersebut dengan melakukan penelitian kepustakaan untuk mendapatkan sumber-sumbernya.

Abstract

In recent years, dakwah (Islamic preaching) in Indonesia has undergone significant developments, evolving from merely spreading religious values to becoming a profession with social, cultural, economic, and political implications. With the rise of social media and technology, dakwah has gained widespread attention, giving preachers (da’i) considerable influence, both within the Muslim community and society at large. However, this popularity presents new challenges for da’i in maintaining their integrity and professionalism, especially when faced with material temptations and political exploitation of their influence. This study aims to explore how da’i can maintain their integrity and professionalism in the face of such challenges, and what strategies they employ to stay focused on their religious mission amidst the growing complexities of the world. This research employs a qualitative approach using document analysis and case studies of three prominent da’i figures: Ustadz Adi Hidayat, Ustadz Abdul Somad, and Gus Miftah. The findings indicate that da’i who are able to maintain their integrity and professionalism tend to have a stronger and deeper influence on their followers. They establish a stronger trust-based relationship with their audiences, which enhances the effectiveness of their preaching. Despite material temptations and involvement in politics, these da’i remain committed to preserving the essence of dakwah, staying true to religious principles without deviating from their original mission.   Dakwah di Indonesia telah mengalami perkembangan yang signifikan dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, tidak hanya sebagai sarana penyebaran nilai-nilai agama, tetapi juga sebagai profesi yang memiliki dampak sosial, budaya, ekonomi, dan politik. Dengan berkembangnya media sosial dan teknologi, dakwah semakin mendapat perhatian luas, di mana para da’i memiliki pengaruh besar, baik di kalangan umat Islam maupun masyarakat secara umum. Namun, popularitas ini membawa tantangan baru bagi da’i dalam mempertahankan integritas dan profesionalisme mereka, terutama ketika dihadapkan pada godaan materi dan politisasi dakwah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana da’i dapat mempertahankan integritas dan profesionalisme dalam menghadapi godaan tersebut, serta strategi apa yang digunakan oleh da’i dalam menjaga fokus dakwah mereka di tengah tuntutan dunia yang semakin kompleks. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis dokumen dan studi kasus terhadap tiga tokoh da’i terkenal, yaitu Ustadz Adi Hidayat, Ustadz Abdul Somad, dan Gus Miftah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa da’i yang dapat menjaga integritas dan profesionalisme cenderung memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap jamaah. Mereka mampu menciptakan hubungan kepercayaan yang kuat dan mendalam dengan audiens, yang mempengaruhi efektivitas dakwah mereka. Meski ada godaan materi dan keterlibatan politik, para da’i ini tetap berkomitmen untuk menjaga esensi dakwah dan tidak melenceng dari prinsip-prinsip agama.

Abstract

In the midst of the increasingly massive flow of digitalization, Generation Z is showing a new way of caring for spirituality and building a religious community. This research explores in depth the spiritual and social experiences of members of the digital Qur'an community such as Kuy Murojaah and Ngafal Ngefeel, who grow and develop through social media platforms. With a phenomenological approach within the framework of qualitative research, this study traces the meaning of their involvement in murojaah activities and memorization of the Qur'an, not just as a worship routine, but as an expression of religious identity, solidarity, and creativity. The findings of the study reveal that this digital Qur'an community functions as an inclusive and transformative da'wah space, where spiritual values are packaged in a relatable, aesthetic, and emotionally resonant narrative. Religious activities that were once private are now performative and communal, forming a dynamic and contextual religious ecosystem. Generation Z is not only a consumer of da'wah content, but also a producer of meaning that reshapes the relationship between technology, faith, and self-expression. Furthermore, this community becomes a social laboratory where fluid but rooted religious identity negotiations take place, where Qur'anic values are internalized through creative and participatory digital practices. This study recommends strengthening the digital da'wah approach based on experience and affection, as well as the development of a religious curriculum that is able to bridge classical spirituality with the dynamics of contemporary digital culture.   Di tengah arus digitalisasi yang kian masif, Generasi Z menunjukkan cara baru dalam merawat spiritualitas dan membangun komunitas religius. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pengalaman spiritual dan sosial anggota komunitas Qur’an digital seperti Kuy Murojaah dan Ngafal Ngefeel, yang tumbuh dan berkembang melalui platform media sosial. Dengan pendekatan fenomenologis dalam kerangka penelitian kualitatif, studi ini menelusuri makna keterlibatan mereka dalam aktivitas murojaah dan hafalan Al-Qur’an, bukan sekadar sebagai rutinitas ibadah, melainkan sebagai ekspresi identitas, solidaritas, dan kreativitas religius.Temuan penelitian mengungkap bahwa komunitas Qur’an digital ini berfungsi sebagai ruang dakwah yang inklusif dan transformatif, di mana nilai-nilai spiritual dikemas dalam narasi yang relatable, estetik, dan penuh resonansi emosional. Aktivitas keagamaan yang dahulu bersifat privat kini menjadi performatif dan komunal, membentuk ekosistem religius yang dinamis dan kontekstual. Generasi Z tidak hanya menjadi konsumen konten dakwah, tetapi juga produsen makna yang membentuk ulang relasi antara teknologi, iman, dan ekspresi diri. Lebih jauh, komunitas ini menjadi laboratorium sosial tempat berlangsungnya negosiasi identitas religius yang cair namun berakar, di mana nilai-nilai Qur’ani diinternalisasi melalui praktik digital yang kreatif dan partisipatif. Studi ini merekomendasikan penguatan pendekatan dakwah digital yang berbasis pengalaman dan afeksi, serta pengembangan kurikulum keagamaan yang mampu menjembatani spiritualitas klasik dengan dinamika budaya digital kontemporer.

Abstract

The phenomenon of global monetary instability in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by the energy and food crises, has driven countries to strengthen the credibility of their monetary policies. Indonesia is no exception, facing inflationary dynamics, exchange rate fluctuations, and the urgent need for fiscal-monetary coordination to sustain economic growth. In this context, the thought of Abu Yusuf, the foremost disciple of Abu Hanifah and the author of Kitab al-Kharj, becomes increasingly relevant. Abu Yusuf emphasized three fundamental pillars underpinning monetary stability: the integrity of the standard of value, market supervision, and fiscal justice aligned with monetary objectives. The purpose of this study is to describe the intellectual profile of Abu Yusuf, examine monetary policies during his era, and explore their relevance to contemporary monetary policy, particularly in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory design, grounded in library research of classical texts and modern literature, complemented by an analysis of the latest empirical data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Bank Indonesia, and international institutions. The findings demonstrate that Abu Yusuf’s principles remain embedded in Indonesia’s current monetary practice. Price stability within the target range, cautious interest rate easing, and coherent fiscal-monetary coordination in the 2025 state budget (APBN) represent the actualization of his classical message regarding honesty in value, market oversight, and fairness in economic burdens. Thus, Abu Yusuf’s thought carries not only historical significance but also provides a normative and ethical framework for future monetary policy strategies. Fenomena ketidakstabilan moneter global pasca pandemi COVID-19, ditambah krisis energi dan pangan, mendorong negara-negara untuk memperkuat kredibilitas kebijakan moneter mereka. Indonesia tidak terkecuali, menghadapi dinamika inflasi, fluktuasi nilai tukar, serta kebutuhan koordinasi fiskal-moneter agar pertumbuhan ekonomi tetap berlanjut. Dalam konteks ini, pemikiran Abu Yusuf, murid utama Abu Hanifah dan penulis Kitāb al-Kharāj, menjadi relevan untuk dibaca kembali. Abu Yusuf menekankan tiga pilar utama yang menopang moneter: integritas standar nilai, pengawasan pasar, serta keadilan fiskal yang selaras dengan moneter. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan profil pemikiran Abu Yusuf, menelaah kebijakan moneter pada zamannya, serta mengeksplorasi relevansinya dengan kebijakan moneter kontemporer, khususnya di Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif-eksploratif, berbasis studi pustaka terhadap teks klasik dan literatur modern, serta analisis data empiris terbaru dari BPS, Bank Indonesia, dan lembaga internasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip Abu Yusuf tetap hidup dalam praktik moneter Indonesia saat ini. Stabilitas inflasi di kisaran sasaran, pelonggaran suku bunga yang hati-hati, serta koordinasi fiskal-moneter dalam APBN 2025 merupakan bentuk aktualisasi dari pesan klasik tentang kejujuran nilai, pengawasan pasar, dan keadilan beban ekonomi. Dengan demikian, pemikiran Abu Yusuf bukan hanya memiliki nilai historis, tetapi juga memberi kerangka normatif dan etis bagi strategi kebijakan moneter ke depan.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of female leaders, referred to as the "Srikandi of the Ministry of Religious Affairs," in shaping leadership practices within State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) in Indonesia, within the context of a patriarchal cultural framework. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design, combining in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observations to capture the lived experiences and strategies employed by female leaders across several PTKIN in the country. The study finds that women leaders in PTKIN face significant structural and cultural challenges stemming from patriarchal norms, yet they actively navigate these barriers by adopting adaptive leadership styles. These women leaders skillfully balance professionalism, religious values, and gender equity in their roles. Their leadership practices reflect resilience, negotiation skills, and strategic networking, allowing them to gain legitimacy and authority within male-dominated environments. The study highlights that the presence of female leaders in PTKIN serves as a transformative force, subverting patriarchal hegemony and creating opportunities for more inclusive and egalitarian governance within Islamic higher education. By contributing to the ongoing discourse on gender and leadership in this context, the research provides new insights into how women leaders navigate cultural constraints, assert their agency, and enhance institutional performance in the face of systemic gender inequality. The study underscores the importance of fostering supportive environments that allow women to thrive in leadership roles within religious and educational institutions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced the way young Muslims access and interpret their spiritual lives. Students at Ma'had Aljamiah UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi live in two spaces simultaneously, namely institutional-based spiritual guidance and the digital reality that is present in their daily activities. This condition raises questions about how digitization affects the religious practices and spiritual awareness of students. This study aims to examine the influence of the digital era on the spiritual practices and understanding of students, explore their experiences of spiritual awareness in dealing with digital technology, and identify strategies used to integrate spirituality with technological developments. This study uses a phenomenological approach with qualitative research methodology through in-depth interviews with students. The results show that digitalization has a dual impact. On the one hand, technology makes it easier for students to access religious studies, broadens their horizons, and supports worship and preaching activities. On the other hand, the rapid and diverse consumption of digital content has the potential to reduce the depth of worship and cause confusion in understanding religious authority. To respond to these conditions, students developed various strategies, such as utilizing digital media positively, building online spiritual communities, applying a critical and selective attitude towards religious content, and continuing to refer to religious guidance and authority within the ma'had environment. This study concludes that digitalization does not automatically weaken the spirituality of mahasantri, but rather becomes a space for adaptation and negotiation that allows for a more contextual strengthening of spirituality when accompanied by awareness, guidance, and adequate digital literacy.
