Abstract

This study aims to identify the need for the use of learning media at SMPN 11 Pekanbaru. Learning media serve as tools to assist teachers in delivering material and facilitate students' understanding of the lessons. The research was conducted from November 13 to December 2024, utilizing survey and quantitative descriptive methods. The results from interviews and observations indicate that the current learning media are less engaging and varied, leading to difficulties for some students in comprehending the material. The instructional materials applied are still limited to textbooks and worksheets. According to the questionnaire, the impact indicator of using learning media received the highest score (82%), while the indicators for student difficulties and engagement received the lowest score (68%). The overall total score reached 74%, categorizing it as "good." This suggests that implementing interactive learning media at SMPN 11 Pekanbaru is essential to support a more effective learning process. Learning media can serve as a solution to address students' difficulties in understanding the material and enhance students' interest and motivation. The researchers recommend visual learning media, such as flashcards, for further use. These flashcards consist of small cards containing images, words, symbols, and materials that can make learning more enjoyable and interactive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the need for an integrated E-Module of IMTAQ values by teachers and students at SMA SERIRAMA YLPI. This E-Module is an electronic-based module presented via a computer or Android device and contains text, images, and videos that include elements of IMTAQ values. This research was conducted at SMA SERIRAMA YLPI Pekanbaru in the 2024/2025 academic year, using a qualitative descriptive research method. From the results of interviews conducted by researchers with biology teachers and 10 grade XI students of SMA SERIRAMA YLPI Pekanbaru, it is known that the teaching materials used by teachers are limited to printed books, and teachers have never integrated IMTAQ values in the biology learning process. Data analysis showed that teachers and students at SMA SERIRAMA YLPI PEKANBARU need an E-Module that integrates IMTAQ values to shape students' character to be better.

Abstract

This study analyzed the weaknesses of hybrid learning implemented in IKD courses. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted within the Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) during preparation, planning, instruction, and learning outcomes assessment. Qualitative data were collected using observation and documentation methods. The collected data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques as proposed by Miles and Huberman. The weaknesses of hybrid learning identified in this study include coordination with senior lecturers whose expertise is not in science education, delays in submitting the SIMAKSI to the BKSDA, and limited CPMK to the science process skills (SPS). These objectives only encompass basic SPS, the absence of guidelines for report preparation, science topics restricted to ecosystems, multitasking challenges, a learning interval of only two weeks, assessment instruments relying solely on tests, and the implementation of tests conducted online. The findings of this study are expected to serve as evaluative material aimed at improving the implementation of hybrid learning in science courses, particularly in the context of IKD.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the initial needs related to teaching materials and the learning models used in the learning process. The research method employed is quantitative descriptive research. This study represents the preliminary stage of development research. The data collection instruments for this research include interview sheets, teacher-needs questionnaires and student-needs questionnaires. The developed learning materials take the form of e-modules, which may consist of text, images, and instructional videos as a structured approach to independent learning. A needs analysis is conducted to identify the learning resources teachers utilize, learning obstacles, and the learning resources students require. The population for this study comprises Grade X students, with a sample size of 42 students and one biology teacher. The data obtained are analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The needs analysis results indicate that 79.66% of the 42 Grade X students require e-modules to support the learning process. Therefore, it is necessary to develop teaching materials like e-modules integrated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance the learning experience.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the results of the preliminary research phase as a basis for developing inquiry-based biology magazines for eleventh-grade students at SMA 11 Pekanbaru. This type of research is a development study utilizing the Plomp development model, which consists of three stages; however, this study only reaches the first stage, the preliminary research phase. The sample size for this research is 38 eleventh-grade students from SMA 11 Pekanbaru. The research instruments include observation sheets, interview sheets, and student needs questionnaires. Most students, 92.11%, prefer to learn using image examples, indicating a preference for visual media, and 97.37% are enthusiastic about developing inquiry-based biology magazines. Based on the preliminary research phase results, it can be concluded that the students need inquiry-based biology magazines.
