Abstract

The crucial aspect in developing high-quality human resources is education. The Indonesian government has developed and implemented various policies and curricula, including the Merdeka Curriculum. The goal of the Merdeka Curriculum is to provide more freedom and autonomy to schools, teachers, and students during the learning process, with the hope of increasing students' interest and motivation to learn. The objective of this study is to investigate how the Merdeka Curriculum affects the quality of education in Indonesia. This study collected data from 50 fourth-grade students through a quantitative survey method. The results showed that students became more active in learning activities, took responsibility for their tasks, and were more enthusiastic in learning activities. It is hoped that these findings will contribute to the development of education policies and serve as a reference for teachers in optimizing the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This research aims to improve student learning outcomes on the human digestive system through the application of the Role Playing learning method in grade V of SD Negeri 200108/12 Padangsidimpuan. The problem faced in this study is the low learning outcomes of students in science subjects. Based on initial observations, it is known that many students have not reached the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). Therefore, this research was carried out using the Role Playing learning model, which is expected to increase students' understanding of the material taught. The method used in this study is Class Action Research which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings involving active learning activities, in which students are acted out in a drama or role related to the human digestive system. The data collected included student test results, observation sheets of student and teacher activities, and reflections carried out each cycle. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes, where the percentage of students who completed in the first cycle reached 69.23%, and in the second cycle increased to 84.61%. In addition, teacher and student activities have also increased, with the percentage of completeness of teacher activities in the second cycle reaching 100%. From these results, it can be concluded that the use of the Role Playing method is effective in improving student learning outcomes, especially in the material of the human digestive system. However, there are still some obstacles, such as time management that needs to be further improved. This study provides recommendations for the application of the Role Playing method as an alternative learning that can increase students' active participation in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the conceptual understanding of fractions among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 060910 Medan Denai through the implementation of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach. This approach emphasizes the importance of incorporating local culture into the learning process to create more meaningful connections for students. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and conceptual understanding tests. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ comprehension of fractions following the application of CRT, both in terms of cognitive achievement and active participation in learning activities.

Abstract

The lack of early understanding of basic statistical concepts contributes to low numeracy literacy among Elementary School (SD) students, despite this skill being essential for daily life decision-making. This research aims to analyze and describe the significant role of integrated statistics learning in the elementary curriculum in enhancing students' numeracy literacy, particularly in their ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw evidence-based conclusions. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design on an intervention group (receiving project-based statistics learning) and a control group (conventional mathematics learning) involving 80 Grade V students. The research findings demonstrated a significantly higher and statistically significant increase in numeracy literacy scores in the intervention group (p<0.01). Descriptively, the intervention group showed an average increase (Gain Score) of 82.32% (High category), which contrasts sharply with the control group's average increase of only 31.78% (Low category). These findings indicate that structured and contextual statistics learning plays a crucial and effective role as a tool for developing elementary students' numeracy literacy competence, strengthening their quantitative reasoning skills, and laying a solid foundation for data-based thinking.

Abstract

This research aims to illustrate the principal’s role as a manager in enhancing the quality of education grounded in Pancasila values. The study adopts a library research method employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to examine a range of relevant scholarly sources. The findings indicate that school principals hold a crucial role in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising educational processes to foster a learning environment that is both high in quality and rich in character. Beyond administrative duties, principals also act as moral leaders who embed Pancasila principles into the school’s culture. Core values such as cooperation, honesty, responsibility, and justice serve as the foundation for character development, teacher competence improvement, and better student learning outcomes. Consequently, the managerial roles performed by principals, when grounded in professionalism and Pancasila values, contribute to achieving an education system that is excellent, character-oriented, and sustainable.
