Waqf as an Islamic social finance instrument holds great potential for productive and societal development in Indonesia, given its big size of Muslim population and generous donation behavior. However, the projection of waqf collection which are currently limited to certain form of assets and programs, also creates a gap between the realization and potential of waqf that hinders it full potential. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the programs and characteristics preferred while donating in waqf to fully understand the determinants of waqf interest in each program. This study used a sample of 361 respondents and used multiple regression analysis with stepwise method. The results showed that social waqf is the most popular waqf program compared to social-productive (hybrid) and productive programs. Each program also has its own characteristics which need to be considered to increase the public interest. The results of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the preferences and characteristics of waqf favored by the community, in hope that waqf institutions or nazhir can establish more relevant and effective waqf collection strategies in attracting community participation and achieving broader socio economics objectives.

This research underscores the importance of zakat awareness among MSME businessmen in Indonesia to further practice zakat in their businesses. This research recommended that MSME businesspeople need to know how to boost their zakat knowledge. MSME players must also include their staff to grasp their duties and the social purpose of zakat compliance, which will boost business development. Zakat management coordinators like BAZNAS must pay attention to MSMEs' compliance and zakat literacy because many sectors of the Indonesian economy still rely on them.

Waqf is one of Islam’s teachings that contain spiritual and material elements. Waqf is defined as something that is given for the usefulness of the people (as a charity) or for purposes related to Islam. This article aims to embrace the concept of waqf from the perspective of history, fiqh, and also macroeconomic perspective. The results show that waqf is one of Islamic teachings and also pre-Islamic teachings in providing their places of worship. From the fiqh perspective, fiqh scholars have explained the concept of waqf in the books of fiqh based on the al-Quran, the hadith and also their ijtihad. The concept of fiqh always undergoes development following the development of human reason. This is because the majority of waqf concepts are based on ijtihad which can change time and place. From the macroeconomic perspective, waqf property plays a role in building the necessary facilities of the community such as places of worship, educational institutions and also health centers. These facilities are believed to improve the quality of Human Resources (Sumber Daya Insani).

This study examines the integration of Islamic philanthropy within hospital settings, with a particular focus on Muhammadiyah Hospital in Ponorogo, Indonesia, to strengthen access to affordable healthcare for marginalized communities. The research is motivated by the limited scholarly attention to the incorporation of ZISWAF and corporate social responsibility (CSR) mechanisms in healthcare service practices, which represents a significant gap in contemporary Islamic philanthropy literature. Employing a qualitative research design, data were collected through interviews with philanthropic unit managers, hospital administrators, and beneficiaries of philanthropic programs. The findings reveal that Islamic philanthropy is integrated through a synergistic governance model that optimizes ZISWAF funds. Zakat and infaq are utilized to cover essential healthcare costs, with infaq serving as a complementary source when zakat eligibility criteria do not apply. Meanwhile, waqf contributes to the procurement of fixed assets, including buildings and patient facilities. The integrated philanthropic unit within the hospital functions as a consolidating entity for managing ZISWAF funds. This integration substantially enhances healthcare accessibility for underserved populations. The study contributes to the literature by conceptualizing an Islamic philanthropic integration model for hospital contexts and proposing the inclusion of CSR as an additional funding stream supporting healthcare-based philanthropic initiatives.

An important Indonesian social-based Islamic financial instrument is known as Waqf, with a flexible cash financing scheme specifically prioritized. This flexible instrument has enormous potential and enables more productivity when used according to the existing community needs in Indonesia. One of the productive developments is also known as waqf for micro-farmer business capital, which assists middle to lower-class people commonly depending on crops and experiencing financial problems. From the description, waqf is capable of assisting farmers in production activities through a productive project program. This program requires the essential formulation of appropriate strategies, expressing the need for standard implementation improvement. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the priority strategies implemented to optimize waqf for financing farmers in Lamongan. A mixed qualitative and quantitative approach was implemented through the Analytic Network Process (ANP), as data were obtained from interviews with seven waqf and agriculture experts. The results showed that the primary strategy focused on the establishment of synergies between the government and the community, increased literacy regarding the urgency of waqf to the public, and improved farmer businesses through coaching and mentoring. This analysis was used as a reference in establishing policies for the Indonesian Waqf Board, the Department of Food Security and Agriculture, and the local government, specifically in Lamongan.
