Jurnal Pendidikan Agama dan Teologi; e-ISSN : 2986-3112, p-ISSN : 2986-3279 adalah jurnal yang ditujukan untuk publikasi artikel ilmiah yang diterbitkan oleh International Forum of Researchers and Lecturers. Artikel yang dimuat adalah adalah artikel yang bertemakan pendidikan agama, katekese, pastoral, teologi dan merupakan hasil penelitian atau studi pustaka, terutama dari para dosen, alumni dan mahasiswa baik dari lingkungan kampus maupun dari luar kampus. <![CDATA[This article examines the story of David’s election as king of Israel in 1 Samuel 16:1-13 through a historical-critical approach. The focus of this study is to understand how God chooses based on the heart, not the outward appearance, as emphasized in verse 7. This study highlights the differences between how humans and God judge a person, as well as the importance of inner qualities in choosing a leader. Through this analysis, it is found that God asserts His sovereignty and prioritizes faithfulness, humility, and obedience as the main criteria in determining the leader of His people. This story is theologically and practically relevant to today’s life, especially in character development and spiritual leadership.]]>

<![CDATA[The digital era brings fundamental transformation to the world of work, requiring a critical review through the perspective of the Church's social teachings, particularly the Rerum Novarum Encyclical. This research aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities of the labor world amid the digital revolution using the ethical framework of this historic document. The study employs a descriptive quantitative approach. The analytical methods include literature review, interpretation of secondary data on digital transformation, and comparative evaluation between the principles of Rerum Novarum and contemporary employment conditions. The article reveals that digital transformation is not just about technological advancement, but also about ensuring human welfare. The ethical approach inherited from Rerum Novarum can serve as a guide in designing inclusive and just employment policies. To face the digital era, a comprehensive strategy is needed that integrates technological innovation with worker rights protection. Digital literacy, equitable technology access, and social protection policies become key elements in achieving a dignified transformation.]]>

<![CDATA[In modern society, many families face challenges such as conflict and divorce, so an understanding of healthy family relationships is becoming increasingly relevant. The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of family harmony in the perspective of Colossians, as well as how this teaching can be applied in everyday life. The methodology used is a descriptive qualitative approach with an analysis of the scriptural text, specifically Colossians 3:18-21, to draw the theological meaning of Paul's teaching on roles and responsibilities in the family. The main results of the study show that family harmony is characterized by love, mutual respect, and obedience in a spiritual context. Emphasis on the reciprocal relationship between husband and wife, as well as positive parenting between parents and children, is key to creating a healthy family environment. In conclusion, applying the values found in Colossians can help families face the challenges of modern times and create more harmonious and equitable relationships.]]>

<![CDATA[The modern world of work often prioritizes productivity and ignores the human dimension of workers. This article examines the concept of human dignity in the world of work based on Pope John Paul II's encyclical Laborem Exercens. The encyclical asserts that work is not merely a means to fulfill economic needs, but also an expression of human dignity and participation in the work of creation. Work has a subjective value that transcends material value, so human beings should always be the center of attention in work activities. In addition, Laborem Exercens highlights the importance of justice in employment relations, respect for workers' rights, solidarity and balance between material and spiritual aspects. This article aims to explore the application of these principles in today's world of work in order to create a more humane, just and sustainable work environment. By basing on the values contained in the encyclical Laborem Exercens, the world of work can become a means of building an inclusive and dignified community, where human well-being takes precedence over mere economic efficiency. This analysis is relevant as a reflection for modern society in realizing a world of work that respects the dignity of every individual.]]>

<![CDATA[Self-acceptance is an important process for people with disabilities to achieve a better quality of life and optimal mental health. The limitations experienced by people with disabilities have an influence on their self-acceptance. The limitations they experience make people with disabilities feel stressed, have low self-esteem and feel lonely. Support from family, friends and community is the main factor that helps people with disabilities. The aim of this research is that this young man can accept himself as a person with a physical disability. The method used in this research is the case study method, where this method is an in-depth exploration of a bound system based on extensive data collection. Based on this research, people with physical disabilities can be responsible for themselves and their future and must be able to accept the disabilities they experience.]]>

<![CDATA[Drugs can penetrate all levels of society that do not recognize boundaries of status, age or gender. Drugs have become a part of culture in every country that has not yet eradicated them optimally. In the Indonesian context, the widespread use of illegal drugs among youth is of particular note, because they are human resources for building the nation. In fact, most people start using drugs at a young age. In aspects of life, it seems as if drugs have become a lifestyle for young people. For example, juvenile delinquency - such as free sex, drunkenness which occurs as a result of drug use. Victims of drug abuse are people who are dependent. Dependence is usually motivated by a lack of meaning in life and high levels of stress experienced by drug users. Pastoral counseling services are one of the therapies for their recovery in addition to medical, psychiatric and psychosocial therapy. Through pastoral counseling services, we will have a goal in writing articles, namely those that are characterized by increasing meaning in life and decreasing stress levels. It even brings them to know God better and to live with faith full of hope. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature review using a content analysis approach. And knowledge about how to overcome the meaning of life and stress using an Existential approach.]]>

<![CDATA[Pastoral assistance using a Gestalt theory approach to women who experience stress due to "Domestic Violence" is an important effort in assisting victims of violence holistically. Gestalt theory, which emphasizes full awareness of one's own experiences and the surrounding environment, can provide an in-depth approach to help individuals understand the feelings, behavior and relationship patterns that are formed as a result of the violence they experience. This assistance aims to provide spiritual, emotional and psychological support through an approach that focuses on the victim's current experience and self-recovery.This mentoring process begins with building safe and understanding relationships, as well as providing space for women to talk about their experiences without fear of being judged. In assistance sessions, Gestalt techniques such as the “empty chair” can be used to help victims face and express their feelings of oppression, as well as increase awareness of their inner strength to overcome stress and trauma. Apart from that, the spiritual aspect is also an inseparable part in providing comfort and hope, as well as helping victims find greater meaning and purpose in life despite difficulties. It is hoped that the results of this assistance will help women victims of domestic violence to gain emotional recovery, increased self-esteem, and the ability to make healthier decisions in their relationships. Pastoral care using the Gestalt approach provides a comprehensive approach by combining psychological, emotional and spiritual aspects, so that it can support women to overcome the stress that arises from experiences of domestic violence.]]>

<![CDATA[This article discusses the spiritual revival triggered by the Pentecostal Movement in the modern era, focusing on its history, development, and impact on society. Through literature analysis, this study identifies the increase in worship participation, profound spiritual experiences, and significant social engagement within Pentecostal communities. Additionally, cultural adaptation and the use of technology in worship practices are also important factors in the growth of this movement. Despite facing challenges and criticism, the Pentecostal Movement shows potential to continue contributing to spiritual and social life. <![CDATA[In the article titled "Mandok Hata on New Year's Eve: Reflecting on the Meaning of Forgiveness in Batak Culture and Christian Teachings (Colossians 3:13)", the author uses a qualitative approach through the analysis of literature related to Mandok Hata and forgiveness. The Mandok Hata ritual on New Year’s Eve reflects spiritual and social values, where the Batak Toba community apologizes to each other, strengthens family ties, and creates an atmosphere of reconciliation. The author asserts that forgiveness in Christian teaching, as an unconditional gift of God, is internalized in this practice. This article shows that forgiveness and Mandok Hata are complementary, encouraging social and spiritual harmony, as well as starting the new year with a clean and loving heart.]]>
