Journal of Action Research in Islamic Education explores the dialogue between research and practice in Islamic education settings. The significant increase in interest in action research in recent years has been accompanied by the development of a number of different approaches, for example to promote reflective practice, professional development, empowerment, understanding of implicit professional knowledge, curriculum development, individual, institutional and community change, and the development of democratic management and administration. Proponents of all of these share the goal of ending the dislocation of research from practice, a goal that connects them with those engaged in participatory research and action inquiry. The journal publishes reports on a range of action research and related studies in the context of Islamic education learning at all levels of education, within education and across the professions, with the aim of making the results widely available and providing examples of the range of reporting styles that are possible. The journal aims to build and maintain a literature review of action research in Islamic education learning. Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to memorize hadith in children aged 5-6 years through the application of the movement method at RA Infarul Ghoy, Tenggerejo Village, Kedungpring District, Lamongan Regency. The background of this study is based on the low ability of students to memorize hadith, which is caused by the use of learning methods that are less varied and not in accordance with the characteristics of early childhood development. The movement method was chosen because it is in accordance with the learning style of children who tend to be kinesthetic, active, and like fun physical activities. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 15 children in group B. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and assessment of memorization results. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the ability to memorize hadith after the application of the movement method. In the pre-action, only 26% of children were able to memorize hadith well. After cycle I, it increased to 60%, and in cycle II it reached 86%. This improvement shows that the movement method is effective in helping children understand and remember the contents of the hadith more easily and enjoyably. Thus, it can be concluded that the movement method is able to improve the ability to memorize hadith in early childhood and is worthy of being applied as an innovative learning alternative in early childhood education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to recognize the concept of subtraction in early childhood, especially children in Group B at RA Athohiriyah, Limo, Depok, through bowling game activities. The background of this study is the low understanding of children towards the concept of subtraction as seen from the results of initial observations, where most children have not been able to subtract correctly and are still confused about distinguishing between the concepts of addition and subtraction. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were 20 children in Group B in the 2017-2018 academic year. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment of children's performance. The results of the study showed that the implementation of bowling games can significantly improve children's ability to recognize the concept of subtraction. In cycle I, children who achieved the learning completion criteria were 55%, increasing to 85% in cycle II. Children become more enthusiastic, active, and understand the concept of subtraction concretely through fun and interactive play activities. Thus, bowling games are proven to be effective as a learning medium that can help children understand basic mathematical concepts contextually and enjoyably. This study recommends the use of educational games in learning mathematical concepts for early childhood, in order to create a more meaningful and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
