Academica: Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal published by Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta. First launched in 2017, Academica is issued biannually (January–June and July–December). The journal publishes original research articles addressing contemporary social issues, based on both fieldwork and textual studies. Abstract

This research departs from the people who often mix one language with another in saying sentences. This study aims to analyze the use of code mixing. The phenomenon of code mixing or mixing of language codes can be understood as the use of language variations in one communication discourse. The method used is qualitative with a content analysis approach to analyze code mixing. Content analysis is observation by watching and listening to YouTube content and then recording speech using mixed code. The data collection used is observation by watching and listening to YouTube content and then recording speech using a mixed code. The results of this study reveal that several things that affect code mixing can be caused by several factors, namely the existence of language interactions between speakers and interlocutors, talking about a topic by choosing diction using code mixing.

Abstract

Moral degradation is one of the problems that infect almost all levels of society. Data shows that many communities, especially teenagers in Indonesia, are experiencing a decline in morale. Moral values must be owned by every individual because it will determine how someone behaves. Islamic religious education has an important role in human life, because in it is revealed all goodness, noble values, and benefits. This study aims to determine the urgency of Islamic Religious Education in the face of moral degradation. To overcome moral degradation, there needs to be an effort that must be done, one of which is by instilling character education in the family, school, and community as early as possible. This research is qualitative research with literature study methods using sources from journal articles, books, webs, and other relevant sources. The results of this study show that Islamic Religious Education plays an important role in facing the problem of moral degradation, namely: 1) Islamic Religious Education as a strategy to increase the potential for the creation of moral humans, 2) Islamic Religious Education as a revitalization of character education, 3) Islamic Religious Education in forming civil society.

Abstract

After its independence, Indonesia continues to experience many problems from various fields, be it educational, economic, social, or other fields. Moreover, at that time human resources were still low. Under the pretext of developing the economy, lotteries and sweepstakes were legalized by the government, even though this is against the teachings of Islam, which is the majority in Indonesia. This research will discuss the background to the legalization of the SDSB (Social Generous Contribution/ Sumbangan Dermawan Sosial Berhadiah) lottery or sweepstakes with prizes) in 1960-1994 and its impact. This study uses qualitative methods with historical and ethnographic approaches. Based on the law and the MUI fatwa (Indonesian Ulema Council/Majelis Ulama Indonesia) which regulates gambling, this is prohibited. The implication of this research is that it is expected to be able to provide an in-depth understanding of the social, cultural, political and economic fields of the existence of lottery and sweepstakes policies in Indonesia, and their impact on Indonesian society. This research is expected to be able to contribute to the development of science and the history of gambling in Indonesia and provide input for the government and society in overcoming gambling problems in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesian is the national language which must be used in communicating both orally and in writing. However, there are still many errors in the use of language, one of which is the printed media in the bulletin. The purpose of this study is to examine linguistic phenomena in the 1st Edition of the 2023 Scholars Bulletin, and to serve as a correction for writers and readers for other writings. Data was collected using the take note method, by reading the bulletin carefully and noting any errors found. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach to identify and analyze language errors contained in the bulletin. The results found include errors in: 1) hyphens, 2) italics, 3) punctuation, and 4) use of upper and lower case letters. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that the public will pay more attention to the use of Ejaan Yang Disesuaikan (EYD) rules.

Abstract

Introduction to the concept of mathematics is a form learning that falls within the realm of a child’s cognitive development. Cognitive is one aspect of child development that needs to be stimulated with good to develop optimally. Games can be used as an alternative in stimulating the introduction of mathematical concept in children so that not only glued with stimulants in the form of sheets of paper only children’s work. This research aims to apply power point based educational games to development of early childhood cognitive abilities. Characteristic on game educative that will be tested is fun, motivating and entertaining. As for this study is a study that uses qualitative methods with subject phenomenology researcher is student of class B TK Aisyiyah IV Semanggi. Observation and interview result show the children that can complete the game development of cognitive abilities well and more fun for son. From the results of the study can be concluded that educational games power point based feasible use in stimulating cognitive child.

Abstract

One of the things that can interfere child development is speech delayed. Speech delay is a condition in which children experience delays in language development and speaking skills according to their age. This study aims to identify the factors that affect speech delays in early childhood during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study use literature review, descriptive qualitative approach. The data of this research were taken from Google Scholar. The results show that COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on various aspects of life, including language development in children. The social distancing regulation from the government requires children to do activities at home. It increase the “screen time” and caused lack interaction between children and their families. Parents play an important role in preventing speech delay in children by limiting the use of gadgets and strengthening family interactions to prevent and overcome speech delays in children during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji cerpen “Terbang” karya Ayu Utami melalui pendekatan struktural untuk memahami unsur-unsur pembangun teks sastra tersebut secara komprehensif. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis unsur intrinsik yang membentuk struktur cerita pendek, meliputi tema, alur, tokoh dan penokohan, sudut pandang, serta gaya bahasa. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan fokus pada analisis struktural teks sastra. Data penelitian berupa unsur intrinsik yang diperoleh langsung dari teks cerpen sebagai sumber data utama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cerpen “Terbang” mengangkat tema relasi percintaan dan dinamika hubungan interpersonal yang berkaitan dengan persoalan moralitas dan etika. Alur cerita disusun secara linear (alur maju) dengan kehadiran tiga tokoh utama yang berperan dominan dalam perkembangan cerita. Sudut pandang yang digunakan adalah orang pertama, di mana tokoh utama berfungsi sebagai narator sekaligus pusat penceritaan. Dari segi gaya bahasa, cerpen ini menampilkan gaya naratif, deskriptif, dialogis, argumentatif, serta pola penutup yang menegaskan perubahan sikap tokoh utama.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi dampak penggunaan aplikasi TikTok terhadap perubahan perilaku sosial mahasiswa di UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta serta menggali faktor penyebab perubahan tersebut. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam tentang pengalaman dan makna yang dikonstruksi oleh informan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian mengungkap perubahan perilaku sosial yang menonjol di kalangan mahasiswa pengguna aktif TikTok, yaitu kecenderungan kecanduan, peningkatan budaya konsumtif, intensifikasi upaya eksistensi mengikuti tren, dan terganggunya kualitas istirahat. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa mekanisme algoritmik platform, kemudahan transaksi daring, tekanan sosial untuk tampil eksis, serta pola penggunaan yang tidak teratur berkontribusi terhadap perubahan tersebut. Implikasi penelitian menekankan perlunya penguatan literasi digital dan literasi keuangan, pembinaan manajemen waktu penggunaan media sosial, serta kebijakan kampus yang mendukung kesejahteraan digital mahasiswa. Hasil studi diharapkan menjadi rujukan bagi penelitian lanjutan dan pengembangan program mitigasi dampak media sosial dalam konteks pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

Kehidupan manusia kontemporer mengalami transformasi signifikan seiring pergeseran dari paradigma konvensional menuju paradigma modern yang ditandai oleh perkembangan teknologi. Teknologi modern, sebagai elemen fundamental Revolusi Industri 4.0—khususnya internet dan media komunikasi digital—telah berkembang pesat dengan karakteristik yang kompleks serta memberikan kemudahan dalam berbagai aktivitas manusia. Namun, kemajuan teknologi juga menimbulkan kekhawatiran karena berpotensi mengubah pola relasi sosial, budaya, dan eksistensi manusia itu sendiri. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif dengan metode kajian pustaka, yang memanfaatkan perspektif para ahli serta temuan penelitian sebelumnya. Data dikumpulkan dari artikel jurnal dan karya ilmiah relevan, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif-interpretatif untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan dinamika pengaruh teknologi terhadap kehidupan manusia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan teknologi membawa implikasi ganda, yakni dampak positif dan negatif, yang secara nyata memengaruhi ranah keluarga, pekerjaan, dan budaya di era industri 4.0. Dalam perspektif filsafat eksistensial Martin Heidegger, keberadaan manusia berbeda secara ontologis dari benda, sehingga manusia dituntut untuk bertanggung jawab secara sadar atas cara ia menghayati dan memaknai keberadaannya di tengah kemajuan teknologi.

Abstract

Current technological developments have had several positive impacts on human survival, one of the positive impacts being the ease of accessing technology via the internet. However, besides that, there are also negative impacts such as a lack of interest in reading in children, especially young children, because children are introduced to gadgets from an early age. It is hoped that the presence of reading parks in the community can be used to increase interest in reading in young children. Kopen Sae Village Rt. 1/Rw. 7, Ngadirejo, Kartasura District, Sukoharjo Regency has a reading park called Taman Baca Alfabet Kopen Sae. The establishment of this reading park also started from the founder's empathy because young children in this modern era have lost their interest in reading. The aim of this research is to determine the role of the Kopen Sae Alphabet Reading Park in increasing children's interest in reading. The research method we use is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation and interviews. The results of our research show that the Kopen Sae Alfabet Reading Park acts as a place for reading, playing, learning, dancing and storytelling. So it can be concluded that the Kopen Sae Alphabet Reading Park has a very big role in children's reading interest because there are many reading books with various reading themes.
