Abstract

This study assessed the implementation of open-knowledge guidelines and librarians’ contribution to academic journals in Nigeria. The study employed a descriptive research design, focusing on all librarians in Delta State. One hundred and thirteen librarians were selected through total enumeration, with data collected via a questionnaire. Analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, and mean. Results showed that most librarians acknowledged their lack of involvement in various academic journals. (Agg. x̄ = 2.42, Crit. x̄ = 2.50). The level of institutional support provided to librarians for engaging in academic journals is low (Agg. x̄ = 2.03, Crit. x̄ = 2.50). More so, the study revealed that the extent to which open-knowledge guidelines are implemented among the librarians is low (Agg. x̄ = 1.56, Crit. x̄ = 2.50). The study concluded that librarians struggle with broader scholarly activities because of low institutional support, inadequate training, and poor implementation of open-knowledge guidelines. These issues are further compounded by a lack of funding, technical support, mentoring, and incentives Consequently, it was suggested that the administration of institutions under study should give librarians focused opportunities for professional development to improve their research abilities, establish incentives for joint research projects involving librarians and lecturers, and set aside specific time for librarians to conduct research and publish their findings.

Abstract

Source code in computer science is a set of commands used to solve problems written in languages that can be understood by computers. Programming languages use concise syntax, and due to this conciseness, they avoid redundancy and ambiguity. However, these languages are often difficult to learn because they require strict adherence to specific syntactic rules. One approach to minimize the difficulty for programmers is to allow program writing using natural language, which is more flexible and easier for humans to understand. Therefore, this research aims to translate natural language, specifically Indonesian, into Pascal source code. The method applied is a rule-based method consisting of three stages: preprocessing (case folding and filtering), analysis (scanning and parsing), and translation. The preprocessing stage removes noise, the analysis stage checks conformity with the defined grammar, and the translation stage converts Indonesian commands into Pascal syntax. Testing was conducted using 60 Indonesian command texts across three types of loop structures (for do, while do, and repeat until). The system achieved an accuracy of approximately 95%. The results show that the rule-based approach is effective in translating repetitive structures. However, improvements to the grammar and parsing rules are recommended to address translation errors and further enhance system accuracy.

Abstract

Changes in this era have given rise to many trends, especially in the beauty sector, such as skincare and makeup, which are starting to be popular with the public. This trend is also followed by several artists or influencers who initially only promoted beauty products and eventually produced their own brands of beauty products or are also known as prosumers. This prosumer trend is followed by Madame Gie, the brand from artist Gisella Anastasia. The target of this study is to observe the impact of brand image and consumer satisfaction on customer satisfaction on social media. Unlike other beauty brands, Madam Gie, which is owned by Gisella Anastasia, is also able to compete in this digital era with the help of social media such as Instagram which can ultimately give rise to a new phenomenon, namely prosumers and the existing brand image is also an important factor for customer satisfaction because this only happens. on social media. This study used a quantitative method using a convenience sampling technique, the population was followers of the Madam Gie brand on Instagram. Next, the data obtained was processed using the SPSS application with a multiple linear regression test. This study found that brand image and prosumer variables had a positive impact on consumer satisfaction. Of the two independent variables, prosumers have a stronger influence in building customer satisfaction. Clear information about products and consumers who understand the beauty products needed by the market increase customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Media convergence is an inevitable occurrence for mass media companies because convergence is the key to the sustainability of the media industry in the current multimedia era. Media convergence also cannot be separated from student life, therefore media convergence on the Netflix application is one of their new choices in order to meet the satisfaction of entertainment. The purpose of this study is to identify the role of media convergence in the Netflix application in the daily lives of Gen Z, and this study uses qualitative methods which later researchers will collect data by conducting interviews with 2 Gen Z who watch shows on Netflix and 1 expert informant who is experienced in the field of video streaming. After the interview is conducted, the data will be transcribed and reanalyzed by coding. The results of this study show that the media convergence that occurs on Netflix has its own role for Gen Z, they now prefer to watch movies or series through Netflix because they can be watched anywhere and anytime, Netflix is also indirectly a source of information for Gen Z, although they still have the purpose of watching shows on Netflix as entertainment. Basically, the internet is the main factor why media convergence on Netflix and other video streaming applications occurs, because the internet can change the style and way of life of humans to all aspects of life.

Abstract

The persistent inequality experienced by persons with disabilities in Indonesia is reinforced by limited informative media representation. Digital platforms such as YouTube are dominated by entertainment-oriented content, leaving minimal space for educational materials that raise awareness about the deaf community. This project seeks to address this gap through the production of “Merakit dalam Sunyi” or in English called Assembling in Silence, a biographical documentary portraying the life of Ria, a deaf online motorcycle taxi driver. The film aims to shift public perceptions, educate audiences about the capabilities of deaf individuals, and provide an informative alternative within digital media spaces. The production employed a conventional three-stage workflow: pre-production (research, script development, and planning), production (four days of field shooting), and post-production (editing and finalization). The resulting documentary offers an audio-visual depiction of how deaf individuals can work and live independently despite social barriers. The project concludes that documentary media can function as an effective instrument for fostering social inclusion by delivering both information and motivation to the public. It also underscores the director’s central role in shaping the work from initial concept to final edit.

Abstract

The rapid development of social media has significantly transformed communication, making it easier, faster, and more accessible for users. This evolution has prompted social media platform providers to continuously innovate, creating diverse applications that serve as intermediaries for communication. One of the most prominent platforms today is TikTok, which has gained immense popularity globally, particularly among teenagers in Indonesia. Given its widespread usage, it is crucial to understand how adolescents perceive this social media application, and whether their perceptions are predominantly positive or negative. This study aims to explore public perceptions of TikTok among teenagers in Surakarta, focusing on the impact of social media content on adolescent psychological development. A qualitative research design with a descriptive approach is employed to capture the nuanced attitudes, opinions, and experiences of the participants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature review to provide a comprehensive understanding of adolescents’ responses to the TikTok platform. The findings indicate that teenagers are particularly sensitive to negative content on TikTok, which can have detrimental effects on their psychological and emotional development, including issues related to self-esteem, behavior, and social interactions. While TikTok also offers opportunities for creativity and social engagement, negative influences appear more pronounced among adolescent users. This research contributes to the understanding of social media’s psychological impact on teenagers and provides insights for parents, educators, and policymakers to develop strategies that mitigate harmful effects while promoting positive use of digital platforms.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital platforms has transformed how identity, authority, and economic value are constructed within the creative economy. This study examines the construction of digital simulacra by a digital product creator through the monetization platform Lynk.id on the Instagram account @abdulaziz.writer. Drawing on Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and hyperreality, this research aims to analyze how symbolic representation, personal branding, and platform architecture shape audience perception and economic legitimacy. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed. Data were collected through online observation, documentation of digital content, and in-depth interviews with the account owner and six digital product users. The findings reveal that the creator strategically constructs a professional digital identity through consistent educational and motivational narratives, minimalist visual design, and testimonial-based validation. These symbolic strategies generate a condition of hyperreality in which audiences perceive the digital persona as more authentic and credible than empirical reality. Lynk.id functions not merely as a transactional tool but as a simulation space that amplifies symbolic capital and economic value. This study contributes to digital sociology by demonstrating that in contemporary platform capitalism, economic legitimacy is increasingly produced through the circulation of signs rather than material verification.
