Abstract

The development of adaptable healthcare facilities is essential for Indonesia's coastal and archipelagic regions. This study aims to design an isolation room for a Type C pontoon-based hospital as an innovative solution to improve access to medical services—particularly for infectious disease treatment in remote areas. The methodology includes literature review on isolation room standards, spatial needs analysis based on Ministry of Health regulations, and exploration of pontoon structural characteristics. The findings highlight that isolation rooms on pontoons must address structural stability, negative pressure ventilation, and separation of clean and contaminated circulation paths. The interior design emphasizes space efficiency, user safety, and patient psychological comfort. Applying modular principles further ensures functional flexibility and ease of maintenance. This study is expected to serve as an initial reference for designing floating healthcare facilities that meet medical standards and adapt to geographical and emergency response challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to examine batik-based interior design as a cultural education medium to increase the engagement of elementary school students. The background of this study is based on the minimal integration of local cultural values in classrooms, which tend to be functional and lack an educational-cultural dimension. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a design thinking method that includes the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The study was conducted in grades 5–6 of Wangan Elementary School, Boyolali, involving 20 students as participants. The design implementation was realized through the development of interior elements in the form of batik-based accessories that integrate the philosophical values of Parang, Kawung, Mega Mendung motifs, as well as local flora and fauna. The results of the study indicate that the application of batik-based interior design not only enriches the aesthetics of the space but also functions as a cultural education medium that can increase student engagement in the learning process. The integration of cultural values in interior elements encourages students to recognize, understand, and appreciate local cultural heritage in a more contextual manner. This study confirms that interior design has the potential as a strategic medium in connecting educational functions and cultural preservation in elementary education environments

Abstract

This study examines the development of halal Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Yogyakarta by analyzing the interaction between institutional actors and internal business capacity. Despite the rapid growth of the global halal industry, the number of halal-certified MSMEs in Yogyakarta remains relatively low, indicating the presence of structural challenges. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing data collected through interviews, observations, and literature review. The analytical framework combines the Triple Helix model, which explores the roles of academics, business actors, and government, with SWOT analysis to identify internal and external factors influencing MSME development. The findings reveal a significant gap between high market opportunities and the limited readiness of MSMEs, particularly in terms of halal literacy, technological capability, and managerial capacity. Although the Triple Helix framework has been implemented, collaboration among actors tends to be programmatic and has not yet formed a sustainable development ecosystem. As a result, MSMEs face difficulties in transforming market potential into competitive advantage. This study argues that strengthening halal MSMEs requires not only regulatory support and capital assistance but also an integrated strategy that emphasizes capacity building, institutional collaboration, and market-oriented innovation. The findings contribute to the discourse on MSME development by highlighting the importance of systemic collaboration in enhancing the competitiveness of halal-based enterprises.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of corporate visual identity into interior design through the application of the Telkomsel logo in a rattan-based ceiling pendant lamp within a staff workspace. Moving beyond purely aesthetic considerations, this research explores how interior design functions as a medium for expressing corporate values, shaping spatial experience, and influencing workplace atmosphere. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature review to analyze the design process, material selection, and user responses. The findings reveal that the integration of the Telkomsel logo into a rattan-based lighting design not only enhances visual aesthetics but also strengthens corporate identity and fosters a sense of belonging among employees. Furthermore, the use of rattan as an environmentally friendly material reflects the intersection between sustainability, local material culture, and contemporary corporate design practices. This study highlights that interior design can serve as an interdisciplinary space where branding, cultural expression, and human experience intersect, contributing to both organizational image and workplace well-being.
