Abstract

Water pollution in big cities, especially in Jakarta has become a serious problem. One of the potential reasons is home wastewater, which comes from the kitchen, bathroom, washing waste or human feaces. Limited facility for processing wastewater in the cities and bad sanitation system right now has quickens the process of water pollution, especially river and shallowunderground water pollutions. For example, general septic tank system used by the people is the one, which does not fulfill technical terms. As the land become narrow, the reservoir system is not proper anymore, because wastewater penetrated through the earth still contains high concentrated pollutant. Bacteriological pollution in shallow underground water also can be potentially caused by bad human feaces waste. As the slow development of centrally processing system of home/city wastewater is a problem, the individual process home waste water (On Site Treatment) is a new way to solve it.

Abstract

Mikroorganism has capability to degrade used engine oil was isolated from soil sample contaminated with used engine oil. One of the selected strain TCP C 2.1 was identified by 16s rDNA as Lycinibacillus sphaericus. The microorganism can use hydrocarbon in used engine oil as the sole carbon source and energy, also it significantly degraded almost all hydrocarbon compounds in used engine oil. With its ability the microorganism has potency to be used as a single microbe for bioremediation of soil polluted by engine oil.

Abstract

In this research have been done by the iron metal rate analysis (Fe) in air dirtambient industry area molding of metal in Dusun Batur, Kecamatan Ceper,Kabupaten Klaten, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Research result indicate that thedistribution contamination of metal Fe have extended with swampy forest[among/between] 0,02 ~ 15,71 ug/m3, and this rate enough significant with dirtcontent TSP which are research before all.

Abstract

Polutan yang dihasilkan dari mesin-mesin pesawat udara (exhaust gas polution) perlu diperhatikan dampak buruknya terhadap lingkungan, meskipun hanya menyumbang sekitar 3% dari total emisi udara dunia tapi dengan banyaknya pesawat udara komersial yang beroperasi dari hari kehari semakin meningkat, maka angka persentase emisi tersebut diprediksi akan meningkat. Secara global, pesawat udara menghasilkan 2% total produksi emisi karbon dioksida (CO2) per tahun, atau sebanyak 13 % dari emisi CO2 yang dihasilkan dari seluruh kendaraan dan diprediksi naik menjadi 3 % sampai tahun 2050.Studi ini bertujuan mengetahui jumlah emisi gas rumah kaca (GHG) dari sektor perhubungan udara dan prediksi pada masa mendatang. Dari hasil perhitungan dalam studi ini diperoleh total emisi GRK (CO2 dan CH4) sebesar 8.171,04 kTon CO2 eq terdiri atas emisi saat LTO 1.203,5 kTon CO2 eq (15 %) dan saat cruise sebesar 6.967,5 kTon CO2 eq (85 %) basis data 2012. Emisi GRK didominasi oleh gas CO2 (99,7%) sedangkan hidrokarbon kurang dari 0,3%. Emisi GRK pesawat udara pada saat tahap cruise sangat dominan mencapai 85% dari emisi total.Key words : Emisi, Gas Buang, Pesawat Udara

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the potency of Piper miniatum as medicinal plant and its propagation method. Extraction and bioassays test (antioxidant activity by DPPH method and antidiabetes by á- glucocidase test) were done. Propagationwas done by bending the internodes at different maturity (R1, R2, R3) and growth medium (compost artificial, mixed husk, forest compost and soil as control treatment).The experimental design in this study was Complete Block Design, with 10 replication. The result showed that forest compost had positive respons to numberof shoot, number of new internodes, and number of leaves on R1, R2 and R3. Old internode showed positive effect at mixed husk growth medium to number of shoots (19), emergence of new internodes (21). New seedling/plantlet were obtained 4 weeksearlier at bending treatment than that of stem cutting. Bioassays test showed that methanol extract of P. miniatum had no- free radical scavenger activity but very active on á-glukocidase inhibition with LC50 for leaves and mixed of leaves and stem were 0.82 and10.75 respectively.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan Waduk Cirata untuk pengembangan budidaya ikan sistem karamba jaring apung (KJA) cenderung berlebihan, sehingga menimbulkan dampak beban pencemaran bahan organik yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian pembebanan bahan organik dan distribusinya telah dilakukan di Waduk Cirata pada bulan Agustus tahun 2000, untuk mengetahui kontribusi sumber-sumber muatan organik dan bebannya pada komponen ekosistem.Beban organik allochtonus dari inlet (S.Citarum) mencapai 0,234 kg.dt-1 atau 7.393 ton per tahun, sedangkan beban organik autochtonus dari sistem KJA rata-rata 6.556 ton per tahun. Pada kolom air terdapat bahan organik total yang berkisar antara 13,9–22,7 mg.l-1, dan pada sedimen terdapat bahan organik total rataan per wilayah antara 152,5–188,6 mg.berat kering g-1 sedimen.

Abstract

An evaluation of the environmental status of the northern coastal area of Karawang was conducted in the wet and the dry season to understand their feasibility to support aquaculture development. Theevaluation result showed that in the wet season, the water quality of the coastal and breackishwater ponds was poor due to high concentration of total suspended solid (TSS), high turbidity, ammonia,nitrate, nitrite and sulfide that stimulated phytoplankton bloom which indicated by high concentration of chlorophyll-a. To anticipate the water quality degradation, it is necessary to build a sedimentationfacility along the inlet channel which accomapied by seaweed and mangrove plantation to eliminate and reduce an organic waste that entered to the breackishwater ponds. An application of the“Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA)” in the coastal area in the future is the best prospective to develop sustainable aquaculture. This technology is green technology with the biorecycle systemand zero emition. Keywords : environmental status, northern coastal area of Karawang, aquaculture developmentAbstrak Evaluasi kondisi lingkungan perairan di kawasan Pantai Utara Karawang di lakukan pada musim hujan dan kemarau guna mengetahui kelayakannya dalam mendukung pengembangan usahabudidaya perikanan. Hasil evalusi menunjukkan bahwa pada musim hujan telah terjadi penurunan kualitas air baik di perairan pantai maupun perairan tambak yang diindikasikan dengan meningkatnyakekeruhan dan konsentrasi ammonia, nitrate, nitrit dan sulfide yang memacu terjadinya ledakan (blooming) fitoplankton (klorofil-a). Untuk mengantisifasi penurunan kualitas air, perlu dikembangkanbak pengendapan disepanjang pantai yang disertai penanaman rumput laut dan mangrove untuk mengurangi kekeruhan dan menetralisir limbah organik yang masuk ke pertambakan sebelumdigunakan untuk kegiatan budidaya perikanan. Penerapan Teknologi Budidaya Perikanan terintegrasi “Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA)” di wilayah pesisir dimasa mendatang merupakanprospek yang menjanjikan untuk pengembangan teknologi budidaya perikanan berkelanjutan, karena teknologi ini selain lebih produktif juga merupakan teknologi bersih (green technology) danberwawasan lingkungan karena teknologinya bersifat Zero Emition atau bebas limbah. Abstract

Sei Baloi is a reservoir in the Batam Industrial Development Area (BIDA),which developed especially for source of drinking water. This research wasconducted to know the water quality of Sei Baloi, and the suitability for thesource of drinking water. This research revealed that the water of Sei Baloi cannot directly used for drinking water due to concentrations of detergent, Cr, Cdand Pb were higher than the national standard for drinking water. Base on thisresult, it was suggested that the water of Sei Baloi need threatment forderease the above parameters.

Abstract

Kawasan pesisir Kota Lhokseumawe-Kabupaten Aceh Utara merupakan salah satu pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Daerah Khusus Aceh, yang telah ditetapkan menjadi kawasan ekonomi khusus (KEK), dan didalamnya akan beroperasi industri-industri baru. Dengan beroperasinya industri-industritersebut maka dimasa yang akan datang perairan pesisir Lhoksemawe-Aceh akan menjadi tujuan akhir dari berbagai limbah dari industri di KEK Lhokseumawe yang diantaranya mengandung logam berat. Dalam rangka mengetahui peningkatan konsentrasi logam berat dimasa mendatang diperlukan informasi kadungan logam berat saat ini. Untuk itulah maka penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi logam berat, seperti Air raksa (Hg), Cadmium (Cd), Tembaga (Cu), Timbal (Pb) dan Seng (Zn). Penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa selain Timbal (Pb), konsentrasi logam berat yang diteliti di perairan Louksemawe-Aceh Utara masih berada dibawah ambang batas baku mutu yang berlaku di wilayah Indonesia. Berkenaan dengan kualitas perairan yang cenderung memburuk tersebut, maka pengolahan limbah di setiap industri yang beroperasi di dalam KEK Lhokseumawe perlu dilakukandengan baik.  Kata kunci : Kawasan Pesisir, Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus, Perairan pesisir, logam berat

Abstract

Vegetative propagation from bulb excised of Eleutherine sp. (Iridaceae) were cultured in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with plant growth regulator (PGR) Benzyl adenine (BA) 1 mg/l at initiation stage, BA (2 and 5) mg/l for induced shoot buds formation at multiplication stage. In this study also BA 2 mg/l and BA 2 mg/l combined with naphthalein acetic acid (NAA) 0.5 mg/l were treated for rooting planlets formation. Calli formation were induced with auxin PGR picloram 1 mg/l combined with 2,4 dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D) 0.5 and 1 mg/l in concentrations. The media contained 2 mg/l cytokinin (BA) without auxin (NAA), resulted the highest shoot buds formation. Rooting planlets were produced in MS medium combined with BA and NAA.MS medium contains Picloram 1 mg/l and 2,4-D 1 mg/l was optimal for frequency oncalli initiation (100%) and the largest diameter of calli also represented in cultured MS medium with picloram 1 mg/l and 2,4-D 1mg/l. In acclimatization stage, 100% of planlets survived and successfully transplanted to soil medium in the field.Key words: in vitro, Eleutherine sp.
