Abstract

Pregnant women with chronic hypertension face elevated risks during pregnancy, necessitating effective management strategies. This study evaluates the potential benefits of combining low-dose aspirin therapy with calcium channel blockers, particularly nifedipine, in this population. Thirty-seven participants were enrolled between July 2015 and September 2017, receiving combination therapy as part of their treatment regimen. Results indicate effective blood pressure control without significant adverse events, with 36.8% experiencing preeclampsia but no severe cases reported. Neonatal outcomes were generally favorable, although 15% of babies were classified as small-for-gestational-age, all achieving Apgar scores between nine and ten. These findings suggest promising outcomes with combination therapy, emphasizing the need for further research to optimize management approaches for pregnant individuals with chronic hypertension. Highlight: Controlled blood pressure: Combination therapy effectively manages blood pressure in chronic hypertension. Lowered severe complications: Potential reduction in eclampsia and placental abruption risks. Positive neonatal outcomes: Favorable Apgar scores and reduced small-for-gestational-age incidence. Keywoard: Chronic Hypertension, Pregnancy, Combination Therapy, Low-Dose Aspirin, Calcium Channel Blockers

Abstract

In this study, membranes made from chitosan, a natural polymer derived from shrimp shells, were investigated for their ability to remove toxic methyl orange (MO) dye from water. The membranes were characterized using infrared spectroscopy, and the maximum absorption wavelength of MO dye was determined via UV-Visible spectrophotometry. Solutions of varying MO concentrations were passed through the chitosan membranes, and their absorbance was measured before and after filtration. Results showed high removal rates ranging from 85% to 95%, with the highest efficiency observed at 20 ppm MO concentration. This research highlights the potential of chitosan membranes as effective and sustainable solutions for water purification, addressing a crucial environmental and health concern posed by toxic dye pollution. Abstract

This study compares two water injection patterns (line drive and five-spot) using CMG software in a cubic reservoir model based on Buzergan field data. Line drive injection showed higher water cut rates due to direct water flow, while the five-spot pattern distributes water flow across the area, resulting in lower water cuts. Economic analysis favors the line drive pattern for its lower setup cost and reduced water injection requirements. These findings offer insights for optimizing injection patterns and maximizing oil production in reservoir management.
