Abstract

Numerous studies regarding the efficacy of publicly advocated breast self-examination in the literature have suggested that it could contribute to an early diagnosis of breast anomalies and increased survival rates. Method: A community-based cross-sectional research design with a mixed methods approach was utilized among 384 women aged 18 - 49 years in the Chereponi district. Multistage sampling technique with a structured questionnaire and Key Informant Interviews for data collection. data were analysed using the SPSS and NVIVO. Results: The research work showed that the participants were abreast with Breast self-examination (BSE) techniques. And that majority of our respondents have a significantly positive impression of BSE. This tallies with the outcome of a study on affected perception of BSE among female secondary school teachers with high perception of BSE (95.5% in the study) by 95.6% of the respondents. Thus, it was also observed that the respondents gave a mean response of 4.04 (SD 0.884), indicating an average but strong sense of knowledge pertaining to where they could seek additional support. Conclusion: It is evident that the majority of the respondents view breast self-examination (BSE) as a significant component of the entire health care regime and also believe the regular practice of BSE can aid greatly in the early detection of breast cancer thereby increase the chances of early cure and furthermore have good confidence in their ability to examine themselves properly.

Abstract

Energy can either be stabilised or not by introducing the new portable device for cloud computing using Android in applicable software. Software engineers are researching the most ideal type of telecommunication device and energy mass production in supporting communities' daily activities. At first, raw information is then, edited and coded for external use in data analyses. Chances of getting it done are first, to measure the risks and problems in addressing the gap of using the current and latest technology during the era. Judging by the vehicle and traffic system, safety first so as, other factors of management in terms of radio transmission and signals to the bumpy cars from behind. The car parts are continuously manufactured as the metallic and synthetic fibers are traded and shipped from a foreign country ended up in the stores as the momentum in demand and supply slows down for turnover in resource allocation. Therefore, sustainability for the growth of the company must ensure uniqueness and continuous customer satisfaction in making it the best treatment option for them without repurposing their needs and recommendations for business development.

Abstract

The most common type of benign uterine tumors are uterine fibroids, sometimes referred to as leiomyomas or myomas. Clinical indicators include infertility, obstetric problems, mass symptoms, pelvic tumors, pelvic discomfort, and irregular bleeding. Because of their symptoms, more than 30% of women with leiomyomas might look for therapy. Modern surgical options are based on the operation, although the method of therapy is influenced by the patient's age and desire to avoid "radical" surgery, such as a hysterectomy, or to retain fertility. Uterine fibroids' location, size, and number determine the course of treatment. In the pathogenetic process, fibroids are made up of smooth muscle, fibroblasts, and a significant amount of fibrous extracellular matrix. The shape, location, pathophysiology, and clinical symptoms of fibroids vary significantly. A woman's race can affect her likelihood of developing fibroids; Black women are more likely than White women to get fibroids earlier in life and to have more severe symptoms.

Abstract

Background: Epilepsy has become one of the major public health problems in the world is characterized by seizures resulting from abnormal electrical discharges in the brain. Hence, this study to assess the anti-epileptic and antinoceptive potentials of Pepperomia pellucida in pentylenetetrazol-induced epileptic mice model. Methods: Forty (40) Swiss male albino mice weighing 21 to 35kg were randomly assigned into four groups (A to D) ten mice each and treated as follows: Group A served as the control, Group B received pentylenetetrazol 35mg/kg intraperitoneally, Group C received pentylenetetrazol 35mg/kg intraperitoneally + peperomia pellucida 2mg/kg orally, and Group D received pentylenetetrazol 35mg/kg intraperitoneally + Diazepam 0.001ml/kg orally. Pentylenetetrazol 35mg/kg intraperitoneally was used to induce epilepsy and the animals were considered epileptic after few minutes with a jerky movement of the tail and limb progressing to the entire body. All animals had access to food and water ad libitum. After administration for 14 days, epilepsy was induced and then neurobehavioral studies for nociception was assessed using the formalin test. Results: pentylenetetrazol 35mg/kg had significant epileptic seizures scores as evidenced by increased duration of seizures, frequency of jerks, onset of tonic seizures and onset of seizures and also had significant edema of the animals’ paw. Peperomia pellucida significantly ameliorated the epileptic seizure and reduced the edema of the animals’ paw induced by the pentylenetetrazol. IBM SPSS statistical software version 20, was used to analyze the data p<0.001. Conclusions: It is based on these results, we draw the conclusion that Peperomia pellucida may possess anti-epileptic and anti-nociceptive properties that resulted in the significant reduction in the epileptic seizures and edema of the animals’ paw in the Peperomia pellucida treated group.

Abstract

This study investigates the dynamics of intra-regional trade in Beverages and Tobacco between Nigeria and other Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) member countries, with a focus on assessing trade volumes and terms of trade across the region. Specifically, it aims to (1) analyze the volume of exports and imports of Beverages and Tobacco among ECOWAS nations and (2) evaluate the evolving terms of trade between member states. Secondary data spanning multiple years were obtained from the TRAINS database and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. Results reveal that Nigeria has historically maintained a leading position in exports, peaking at 56.29% of regional trade in 2012, but declining to 23.04% by 2023, reflecting significant variability. Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal have emerged as key trade partners, while countries such as Burkina Faso and Ghana have shown increasing import dependence, indicating shifting regional trade dependencies. Furthermore, trends in terms of trade ratios, particularly Nigeria’s sharp rise to 276,786 in 2023 and Senegal’s peak of 50,547.1 in 2014, reflect robust export performance within the sector. The analysis underscores Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire’s continued dominance but also highlights the rising participation of countries like Senegal, Togo, and Burkina Faso in the regional market. These findings suggest that intra-ECOWAS trade in Beverages and Tobacco is diversifying, offering new opportunities for economic cooperation. Policy interventions aimed at strengthening trade infrastructure, enhancing export capacity, and mitigating potential fiscal vulnerabilities are recommended to improve regional trade outcomes.
