About the Journal Kerigan: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, is a multidisciplinary scientific journal published by LP2M UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. This journal discusses various problems or general issues related to community service. The purpose of publishing this journal is to disseminate thoughts or conceptual ideas and research results that have been achieved in the field of community service. Kerigan: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat contains various activities from various community groups in handling and managing various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in the community. The implementation of community service activities also involves the participation of the community and partners. Community service activities are organized into activities that aim to improve the welfare of the community. This journal will be published every six months (June and December). Interested authors can submit manuscripts in accordance with the submission guidelines. Please read these guidelines carefully. Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to the editorial office of Kerigan: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat must comply with the writing guidelines. If the submitted manuscript does not comply with the guidelines or is written in a different format, it will be REJECTED by the editor before further review. The editor will only accept manuscripts that comply with the specified format. Every article submitted to the editorial team will be selected through the Desk Review and Initial Manuscript Evaluation process by the Editorial Board. Then, the article will be sent to the peer reviewers and will enter the next stage of selection through the Double-Blind Peer-Review Process. Further details on the review policy and process are available in the submission guidelines. Kerigan: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is published by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M), UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, Jawa Timur, Indonesia. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. Kerigan: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat, particularly focuses on the main problems in the development of the sciences of community services areas as follows: Community Services, People, Local Food Security; Training, Marketing, Appropriate Technology, Design; Community Empowerment, Social Access; Student Community Services; Border Region, Less Developed Region; Education for Sustainable Development.

Abstract

Purpose: Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat Desa Tugu, Kecamatan Sendang, Kabupaten Tulungagung, terhadap pentingnya pendidikan lanjutan dan pemanfaatan beasiswa sebagai sarana mobilitas sosial. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga mendorong pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal dan peningkatan partisipasi masyarakat dalam bidang kesehatan dan lingkungan. Method: Metode yang digunakan adalah Community-Based Research (CBR), yang menempatkan masyarakat sebagai mitra aktif dalam proses identifikasi masalah, perencanaan program, implementasi, evaluasi, hingga refleksi. Program unggulan berupa talkshow pendidikan, pendampingan UMKM, pembelajaran tambahan di sekolah dan TPQ, serta kegiatan posyandu dan kerja bakti lingkungan. Practical Applications: Pengabdian ini menghasilkan peningkatan literasi beasiswa di kalangan orang tua, peningkatan kapasitas promosi dan legalitas produk UMKM, penguatan semangat belajar anak-anak, serta peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pola hidup sehat dan lingkungan bersih. Pendekatan partisipatif juga memperkuat rasa memiliki masyarakat terhadap program-program yang dijalankan. Conclusion: Pendekatan CBR terbukti efektif dalam menjawab kebutuhan lokal secara kontekstual dan berkelanjutan. Program ini dapat direplikasi pada wilayah lain dengan karakteristik serupa untuk memperkuat pembangunan masyarakat berbasis potensi dan kebutuhan nyata.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims to enhance elementary students’ understanding of the dangers of child grooming and equip them with basic self-protection skills, particularly in recognizing and resisting social manipulation that may occur both directly and through digital media. This issue is crucial because elementary school students are a vulnerable group who often lack awareness of potential threats in social relationships. Method: The program was conducted using an educational–participatory approach based on the Community-Based Research (CBR) model, involving fifth- and sixth-grade students of SDN 1 Ngadisuko, Durenan District, Trenggalek Regency. The activities consisted of two sessions of socialization using visual media, interactive discussions, quizzes, and simulation practices. Evaluation was carried out qualitatively through participatory observation and student reflections at the end of the sessions. Practical Applications: Through this socialization, students gained knowledge about the concept of child grooming, its various forms, and practical preventive measures. The activity also encouraged schools to foster openness in discussing child protection issues and consider integrating similar materials into their curriculum and extracurricular programs. Conclusion: The results indicate that students became more aware and prepared to respond to suspicious situations, both online and offline. This program serves as a strategic initial effort to build children’s self-protection awareness while strengthening the school’s role as the frontline institution for education-based child protection.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of the Pasiraman Village community in three key areas: character education for school-age children, household waste management through a waste bank system, and economic empowerment via training in the production of eco-friendly dish soap. The program was designed to address local needs while fostering behaviors and skills that support sustainable village development. Method: The activity employed a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach, emphasizing active community participation throughout the process. It was implemented by students from UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung during a 40-day community service program in Pasiraman Village, Talun District, Blitar Regency. Methods included observation, informal interviews, interactive education, hands-on training, and qualitative evaluation. Each activity was tailored to specific community groups: elementary school students, housewives, and youth organizations. Practical Applications: The program produced several tangible impacts. Elementary students demonstrated improved learning motivation and understanding of moral values. The community began adopting waste-sorting habits and recognized the economic potential of waste banks. Housewives gained new skills in producing environmentally friendly dish soap and explored opportunities for small-scale home-based businesses. Active community participation served as a key indicator of the program’s success. Conclusion: This community engagement initiative shows that an educational–participatory approach effectively enhances awareness, skills, and collaborative spirit among rural communities. Through strong synergy between students and residents, the program not only provided short-term benefits but also fostered sustainable behavioral change and local self-reliance. This initiative serves as a best-practice model that can be replicated in other villages using a similar participatory framework.

Abstract

Purpose: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) di Desa Jati, Kecamatan Kalidawir, Kabupaten Tulungagung, bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan lingkungan, pemanfaatan teknologi sederhana, serta pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis potensi lokal. Beberapa isu yang menjadi perhatian utama dalam program ini adalah rendahnya kesadaran pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, minimnya sarana edukasi kreatif untuk anak-anak, serta kebutuhan akan media promosi digital desa. Method: Program dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan Community-Based Research (CBR), yang mengutamakan partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam seluruh proses: identifikasi masalah, perancangan program, pelaksanaan, hingga evaluasi kegiatan. Kegiatan dilakukan selama lebih dari satu bulan dengan metode seperti observasi, wawancara, pelatihan, dan sosialisasi. Kegiatan utama mencakup edukasi lingkungan di sekolah dasar, pelatihan pembuatan eco-enzyme dari limbah organik, serta pembuatan profil digital dan video promosi desa untuk mendukung digitalisasi informasi lokal. Practical Applications: Kegiatan pengabdian ini memberikan dampak langsung bagi masyarakat, terutama dalam peningkatan kesadaran anak-anak terhadap pentingnya kebersihan dan lingkungan sehat, pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga menjadi produk bermanfaat seperti eco-enzyme, serta pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk mendokumentasikan potensi desa secara lebih menarik. Anak-anak menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi terhadap kegiatan mewarnai dan praktik membuat pupuk cair, sementara pemuda desa dan perangkat desa memperoleh wawasan baru terkait branding desa berbasis digital. Conclusion: Pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa sinergi antara mahasiswa dan masyarakat dalam program berbasis partisipatif dapat menghasilkan perubahan sosial yang nyata dan aplikatif. Literasi lingkungan, keterampilan sederhana berbasis potensi lokal, serta digitalisasi desa terbukti menjadi solusi awal yang tepat dalam meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan daya saing masyarakat pedesaan. Keberlanjutan program ini memerlukan dukungan kelembagaan desa dan kolaborasi lintas pihak agar manfaatnya lebih luas dan berjangka panjang.

Abstract

Purpose: The Community Service Program (KKN) carried out in Cimasuk Hamlet, Suci Village, was designed to implement the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) as a digital payment mechanism aimed at enhancing the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative was motivated by the persistence of cash-based transactions and the limited level of digital literacy within the local community. Method: Employing a qualitative descriptive approach with participatory engagement, this program positioned the community not merely as passive recipients of information but as active participants throughout the stages of introduction, socialization, and adoption of QRIS. The series of activities encompassed target mapping, stakeholder coordination, preparation of educational materials, dissemination, technical training, and continuous assistance. Practical Applications: The findings revealed a notable improvement in MSMEs’ knowledge and technical competence in utilizing QRIS, despite persisting challenges such as inadequate technological infrastructure and low financial literacy. Conclusion: Overall, the program contributed to strengthening MSME empowerment at the local level while simultaneously supporting national policies aimed at expanding digital financial inclusion and promoting sustainable economic development.
